I returned the call as my attorney, just one ring, no answer, I would liked to have gotten through and given them my credit card info, banking information, and of course, my social security number. Just got the same message from "Robbie", why also barely speaks any English.  If the IRS needs to contact you, they will do it by letter.  How can people fall for this scam?!?!

It is!!!  If the IRS needs to contact you, they will usually do it by mail.  Then you can call them back to verify.

The IRS will ALWAYS contact you by mail unless you are actually working with an IRS employee and have already established contact with them.  Even then, they will rarely call you unless they are returning your call.  But the IRS will NEVER leave a generic threatening message.  All of their "threats" are mailed.  :)

I told her you are a LIAR. I do not own boat, I just bought a new car today and excellent credit score and loan was approved.

Aftering hearing from me, she spoke other language and disconnected the line.

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for it. The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone.
    Read http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/press/press_tigta-2014-03.htm

As general background information, here are a few things you can do:
    1) Report it to TIGTA under http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml especially if you have become a victim (lost money, gave personal information etc.). You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint (include “IRS Telephone Scam" in your complaint). This way you can also help the government establish specific fraud patterns.

    2) Help kill their phone lines. The scammers use Voice over IP lines (e.g. magicJack (Ymax corporation)) to make it seem as if they are calling from the US. This is always against these companys' terms of service and can lead to immediate termination of their contract and blocking of their IP addresses for future attempts to register. Do a reverse look up of their telephone number (e.g. www.whitepages.com) to identify the Voice over IP provider and report it to the company and or law enforcement (local police and/or state attorney general)

    3) If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction and provide US law enforcement agencies with the political backing and the resources they need to work in India and Pakistan together with local authorities (it can happen, read: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/ex-call-cen ... mmission-320427). A US task force has already been set up in Jamaica to nab scammers there (see http://www.ice.gov/doclib/news/library/reports/cornerstone/cornerstone7-1.pdf). You can use the following template for your letter (more powerful!) or email:

    Brangelina got married!
I got the same call, same tax scam, same thick accent, same "do not disregard this message" BS. Why don't you just get a life, get a real job--or if you have neither, at least go back to school and finish your education. That will help you in the long run besides helping you lose that pathetic third-grade vocabulary of yours.

IRS working on long weekend of Labor Day Saturday!!??

Caller was David Clark with Indian accent.  He even provided a case reference number in regards to my wife's incorrect income tax filing.  I told him to stay close to his computer so my wife will call him as soon as she gets back!

Just got a call from this number claiming to be the IRS.  I KNOW I do not owe taxes.  These idiots need to learn a better scam and know how the USA works.  The IRS most certainly would not call on Labor Day.  What idiots!!!!  Alert your friends, family and all people about this scam.

I got a call on my voice mail from Robbie Ray today (labor day) saying the same thing.
This is the 2nd time I have had this call. Last time I told them to send me the information via mail and asked for a 800 # to call back since it was the IRS, he gave me Michael Carters # and it was the same # he had called me from.

I have reported them a few times, not sure how they can keep doing this!
