Caller said he was from the IRS and was calling because I had a case of Tax evasion against me and that I should call back to avoid being arrested. Caller had thick Arabian or middle eastern accent.  I called the number back from my cell phone and the same accented man hung up.

Melvin Called left message, said he was with Irs Don't ignore this call..  I called Back. "Daniel jackson Badge#950180 . He also gave me a short case #  Told me I had committed tax fraud. That I owed money. Told me not to leave the line. If I did the police would be coming to arrest me.  and  I would never work agiain in the United states.

I told him I needed to contact my tax guy because this might be fraud and hung up.

"This call is to let you know that we have received a legal petition(?) noticed against you concerning a tax TV so before we file a case against you in the court house and before you get arrested. Kindly call us back on a call back number the number to reach me that is 202-684-6608. I repeat it's 202-684-6608. Don't disregard this message do return the call. Again this is officer Melvin Patrick from the Internal Revenue Service. Thank you and have a great day."

Left two voicemail messages - said I need to call regarding tax evasion and I may go to jail.

fraud....claiming to be from the IRS and that I owed them money

I got the same call from Melvin Batchet who said he was from the IRS and had a thick Asian accent. He said that before they take me to the court house for tax evasion I need to call 202.684.6608. Very obviously a fraudulent call as the IRS will never call for money - they will send you a letter. I hope nobody falls victim to this.

Got a call from 202-684-6608. Heavy accent on message saying Officer Patchet from IRS needed to talk to me on tax evasion. Knew it was scam because the mismatch of name and accent and that the  IRS would never call. Interestingly, when I called back, the number seemed disconnected.

Just got a call from 202-657-4462 telling me I commited tax fraud and would go to jail if I didn't pay whatever I could he said his name was Frank Martin badge #958126  his superior said his name was Daniel Jackson badge #95018 phone caller was officer Ron Black all sounde like the exact same person

I just called FBI on them a few days ago.  I'm sure they know what to do with those scamers. Pretending to be an  irs...officer with Indian accent, lol wtf?

The reason is because most of these calls are from India and Pakistan..

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
