If they were calling about natural gas usage they called your cell phone because you provided it to the utility for emergency contact. Remove it if you don't want it called in the future "wasting your minutes".  The poll

Nope, these are scam calls.  I got an email from my actual gas/electric company this week advising me of this scam earlier in the week and then I got a call just a few minutes ago.  I don't live anywhere near Washington DC where the call supposedly originated.

I am on the do not call list so not advisable to call this no again.

This is a legitimate political poll but the questions are framed so that you will answer the way they want you to do so.  It is sort of a double or triple negative question spoken in a very aggressive tone and unless you listen very carefully you will give the answer they expect.  They use "key words" and "hot button issues" to fool the listener.  Best solution:  Don't answer calls from POLLSRCH## (number at the end changes) unless you are prepared to listen to a fast-talking recording of misleading questions. Political calls are not protected by the Do Not Call List.  

And please readers, this is not the site to ask that these or any political candidates not call you again.  Make a complaint to your state representative or U.S. congressperson so that maybe someday something can be done about political action committees and candidates who are excluded from the list.  Their phone numbers and email addresses are available online.  As for run of the mill telemarketers, please make your complaint to www.donotcall.gov and not on this site; no one from the government reads this.

Wife received 2 calls at home this morning, 10.54 & 11.10 am, both times they  told my wife thqt we were having computer problems, wife basically told them to screw off, since she knows nothing about computer use.

Got a breif survey asking me if I vote and did I approve of Obamacare.

Got call at 12:12, left message about political poll, asked if oblabla care was good for the country. (we all know it's not!) end of message.

I can believe other's comments here saying that the poll is pushy and slanted, because even if the answering machine picks up, the message 'this was a survey call. We will call back" sounds rude and ominous. Like you don't even have a choice, you'll be forced to submit -- one way or another! SCREW *that* mess! they are not the hell pushing me into anything, period. I will gladly donate the time it will take to report these scammers.

Yes, I identify these nuts as scammers because they are misusing/abusing a loophole to appear to have a legitimate reason to transgress the rules of the DNC list. So telemarketer will have to do for here (since 'scammer' isn't a choice on this website, but it sure will be when I report it).

I wasn't aware of an incoming call, but found the following voicemail on my service:

“This was a political survey call. We may call back later. Thank you.”

I might not block them right away, I'm curious to hear their survey. On the other hand, perhaps I shouldn't receive their next call and let them know we do answer our phone.

Caller ID said- Pollrsrch and I did not answer. There was a partial voice mail left that asked "are you registered to vote"

Answer machine picked up call.  Caller identified himself as, Charlie Perkins, President of Family Research Council Action.  Voice said, this is a political survey call for a 45 second survey.  Are you a registered voter?
When voice  received no response, voice said, we may call back later.  (If, they do, they will talk to my answer machine.  They should not be allowed to call anyone on the DNCL.).

Evidently, this number is being used for several different organizations.  Some MAY be legit but I doubt it.

Most robo callers won't leave a message if they get your voicemail. I think that's awfully decent of them. At least now you'll recognize their Caller ID the next time and can ignore ore even block them. Lighten up, friend!

I received a call from POLLRSRCH13 202-769-0477.  There was a recorded message saying this was my second chance to lower the interest rates on my credit card.  I pressed one to be connected to a live operator.  I had a friendly conversation but felt a bit uncomfortable when I was asked for the expiration date on my credit card.  I then asked for his phone number so that I could call him back.  He said, "No problem" and gave me the following phone number: 800-277-6453.  I then asked for the name of the company and he hung up on me.  I called the provided number.  It was a sex hotline.  LOL  Funny boys are out there playing a few games.  Only my imagination can tell me what they were really trying to accomplish.  Either way I love talking to these kind of callers.  I hope they call again in the future.

This number has called my home every day for the last 3 days.  They say they are a survey and ask are you if you vote.  They also say they will call again.  It's very, very, very, very annoying.  It is a recorded call.

Nice to be able to complain but even nicer for those complaints not fall on deaf ears.  These people are the lowest form of politician and that is low.  Republican or Democrat these calls need to be stopped.
