Whenever I get these calls I immediately get online and google the numbers because they usually bring me to sites like this one!  LOL!  I figured it was a scam but was curious to know what kind.  Also, I knew it was fake because my caller ID identified it with an additional area code - 011 - which I know is overseas.  Last time I checked, the IRS was American.

Received call twice. IRS is filing a lawsuit against me

recorded robo call claiming to be the IRS suing us unless we return their call immediately. How stupid do these people think we are. THEY NEVER CALL YOU AND THREATEN YOU OVER THE PHONE.  Their return number is (202) 864-1183.

Let's track this number and send a drome to drop our "Payment" off to them and end the stupidity!

We received the same call here. When you call the number back (using *67 ID block, of course) you either get bizarre Euro trash music or a fast busy signal. Starts with a very long first ring which is one of the signs of multiple switch tranfers.

Got Robo call saying IRS is filing a law suit against me

Same story. Received recorded msg stating that I am being sued by the IRS. Even though it's a recording, I told them to stand in line. I owe a lot  of people!

Just received a recorded message, "We`ve been trying to reach you.  This is to inform you the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you".  Number now blocked.

Called threatening lawsuit -

Received call from this number saying I was being sued by the IRS and to call this number which I thought was probably a scam and checked the number on Google and I was correct.  Just wanted to report it. It came up as a blocked no. as we have our phone set up to identify unidentifiable nos. and block them. This is how I knew it was probably a scam.

Yep, just received an automated call from 202-864-1183, telling me it was the last attempt regarding the law suit that the IRS was filing against me.  I called the TIGTA and due to heavy call volume of this type of scam they directed me to their website to file a complaint (www.tigta.gov).  Ridiculous as the call was to me, it bugs me that there are some people out there that will fall for this type of scam :(

Got a call and the message was garbled saying something about the IRS - I am sure this a scam call and when I tried to look up the phone number on google, it said there is no match.

I got the same call from the same two numbers of 360-464-1123 for Jennie White (Impost IRS Agent) and from a general message for number 202-864-1183.

Automated call claiming to be the IRS and filing lawsuit against us!!

I got this stupid automated call from 202-864-1183 yesterday morning from an previously recorded message (woman's voice) and claiming to be the IRS and they were giving me notice that they were suing me for fraud. She demanded that I call them back immediately to talk with them.
At first, I had a jolt of stress surge through my nervous system, and then I started thinking about it:
1. Why didn't the IRS send me anything in the mail?
2. Why didn't the IRS give me any notice of a problem with my taxes and forms first, before threatening a lawsuit?
3. Why didn't the IRS contact me more discreetly, rather than blatantly blurt it out on my answering machine?
4. Why didn't the IRS contact me through normal "Legal" channels such as Attorneys and/or being served a summons, etc.?
5. Why didn't the IRS mention my name or any other personal information?
6. Why did the IRS demand that I contact them immediately rather than realize that people have busy lives and instead give me a larger time frame to contact them than just "immediately."?

SUMMARY:
They are NOT the IRS and it is a bogus attempt to extortion USA citizens of their hard earned money.
They are SCUM-BAGS!!
Do NOT give them any time of day (your precious life) and do NOT give them any of your personal information or your money!!

i received one call from 202-864-1183 from "the IRS was bringing a law suit against me".
Today I received one from Olympia WA 360-464-1123 "this is Jimmy Mike and you have committed fraud against the IRS. You need to call us" I called this number back and "IRS agent Frank Robinson" answered. When I said something there were no words. After about 2 minutes the line went dead.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Received scam phone call from 202 864 1183. Please report to IRS to catch this BS individual immediately. He calling from Washington DC

My elderly mother has recieved two phone calls on her land line from the # 202.864.1183 claiming to be the irs and th ey are threatening to arrest her...My mother is betty baker and her # is 256.352.6319.  The first call was a woman and the second was a man from # 260.464.1123. Both were threatening to have her arrested and claiming to be the irs. Both calls were messages left on her voicemail machine. She has not returned these calls and is aware that they are possible scams. She wants these calls stopped immediately.
