I just received a call from 202-899-9017 giving me the same message to call back or have my attorney call back.  A few months ago I had a call from a different number that I also looked up and had been reported as a scam and they were foreign.  They had asked me if I had lived at the previous addresses they gave me and I told him you tell me you seem to know where I live and then when he proceeded to ask about an account I supposedly had I told him that was not correct and to send me the information so I can see what it is I owe and they refused and told me not to worry about it they would just stick it in a file.

Got a call from this number also.  They left a message. When I listened to the call over, I realized it was a computer voice. It sounded like a bunch of words put together to form a sentence. I know that I've haven't done anything wrong, so I couldn't figure out why someone from Washington would be calling me about having or getting an attorney. If all of these calls come from India, what kind of people are they.

My husband just received a call from this number too saying that we filed our tax return from year 2009 to 2014 improperly and we owed the IRS $4,900.00 and that they will give him only one hour to respond if we are going to pay the $4,900.00 or they will go to our address and garnish all our assets.    I was really shocked when I received a phone call from my husband at work saying this to me and asking me our accountants number.  I just told my husband to calm down coz I know for sure its a scam.  I know IRS wont threat anyone giving only one hour to settle any accounts, and I know  that we are filing our tax returns properly. IRS will send you a notice regarding this matter.  I immediately search the phone number and I found this site saying the same experience that my husband does and search on IRS laws about anything, about settlements if any.  So I called my husband about it.  He also told me that they hang up when he was yelling at them that we don't owe IRS anything.

A message left on my phone,From attorney of records saying extremly sensitive  issue. and all they couls say was good luck as the situation unfolded on me. I called the number back and got no answer.

Yes this is the same message the have been leaving on my work phone which I really am not appreciating that!

Best not to call them back.  They become extremely abusive when they find their scams are not working.

It's about them hoping to scare you into paying a bogus debt. You can wish them luck by not answering their calls in any way. They've got nobody to play with, they're in some rough seas.

I got the same call.  I called them back and told them to supply me proof of their identity to prove that they are agents for the IRS.  All 3 times they just hung up.

Don't know why, but I did call back. Got same as many of the above responses and more. Was told that Internal Revenue has a warrant for my arrest??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am Canadian......and totally clean...... It took me a minute to realize the scam. Till this day I was getting the small ones telling me I had a serious problem with my microsoft.....but nothing that sounded that BIG a scam. They are probably fleecing vulnerable people and older people too. What can be done about such rackets.

Called from 202-899-9017, starting that there is a criminal case against me, listed a case number and told me or my lawyer to immediately call or "Now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you".

I received a call at 6:00 in the morning from this number and again a message today.  I told the caller that it was 6:00 a.m. and that it violated FDCPA regulations.  Didn't seem to stop them from continuing to talk.  Thanks for all the chatter on this.
