We got the same email, but we do not understand the goal of the scam. How were you out $6500? The email says he will send a certified check

Got the same email. Does anyone know how these people make money from this scam?  what jerks.

I just go t the same email from pettadams101.gmail.com.  Was very suspicious because no actual name was give, no nearby office of Black and Veatch, the "reference number went to a fax, and no engineering firm in the UK named Wesson and Essex.  Thank you for posting this information, I found it when googling Wesson and Essex.

I received the same letter from a john Bailey, UK.  His phone number is always busy and he said that he would call me back.......  Thank you for posting your letter.  Only when i decided to get a number on his "reference" (it didn't include a telephone number)did you letter and others showed-up.  Maryline

The following is the email we received.  Does anybody know how they can make money this way?  I guess eventully they will say they will send more money and ask you to wire the extra to another place.  It takes about 30 days for internation check to clear.

Hello, I received the same e-mail, actually twice and am glad that I googled the phone number.  I am a bit nervous, they wanted a google map of the house, which of course I did since it is up for sale.  Does anyone know what their motive is?  Should I notify the police in case they are a theft ring?

Dave,  They will send you the rent for one year plus $4,000 for his furniture.  You cash his bogus check for the total amount which you will be responsible for when it bounces.  You will be asked to send a certified check for the furniture to some out of state company whcih they cash and stick in their pocket.  Get the picture?

I just recived the same e-mail for my apartment. I have also recevied on from I thought it sounded wrong.Thank you for confriming.Please be on the look out for a person named Larry Brown also from the UK he is 32 married has a daughter.will need 1yr lease. I had did a greement with him he had a check sent for $6000.00. I thought it looked fake. I brought it to the bank and the confrimed it was all a fraud
