I got a call from Trikon 206-397-1113, at 9:45 pm.(isnt that too late?) After a rash of fraudulent debt collection calls over the last several weeks,(we have great credit) I always google suspicious numbers. That is how I found this posting. I never answer these calls but will call them back. It was a recording allowing me an option to be removed from their list.
What I find very strange is that last night I received an unscheduled windows update, after which, my keyboard would no longer work. I went into my control panel and ultimately found a suspicious file that I deleted(be careful doing this) and every thing was fine. Then Trikon calls....    hmmm?? Are they sending viruses out as a way to get into your computer and personal info???
I hope the feds get involved

I got a call with a caller ID of TRIKON at approx 10 am pdt warning me of a Windows 7 Virus that would destroy my hard drive or something like that. He said he wascalling me because they had me down as a Windows 7  user.

The caller had and accent and recommended I turn on my computer and they would guide my through a process to see if I was infected with the virus.

I hung-up and thought I would check it out myself, before someone leading me down 9a blind alley.

I ran some scans and detected no problems.

I just received a call from Trikon not more then 10 minutes after my computer crashed from a false anti-virus called AV antivirus 2011 that installed on my system after I installed what I thought was an Adobe Flash upgrade. While I was removing this from my system I received a call from Trikon and the lady on the other end of the line said my computer sent them an Error msg to the effect that it crashed and she wanted to direct me on how to remove the error. She insisted that I authorized this error message to be sent to them when I did not. I ended up hanging up on them and I am in the middle of removing this malware from my registry and other area's of my system. The number that came across my caller ID is:206-397-1113. I am on the national Do Not Call List. I do not appreciate this sort of harassment.

It's 4pm on 11/19/2011 and I just answered a phone call from this TRIKON person from the number 253-326-2020.The person on the other end tried to tell me in the worst broken english that my computer has a virus and they wanted to try to help me with it. Most of what they were saying was sounded like dribble and I told them to find a person who could speak and understand the English language better. As a point of trying to find out who they were, I looked them up and I see this stuff. Rest assured I won't answer them again. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!!!

TRIKON CALLED FROM WASHINGTON (360-633-9006) AND TOLD ME TO GO TURN ON MY COMPUTER THAT THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING "ERROR" MESSAGES FROM MY COMPUTERS. IT'S THANKSGIVING DAY AND I TOLD THE MAN THAT I WOULD NOT COMPLY WITH WHAT HE KEPT ASKING ME TO DO AND THEN I HUNG UP. SOME OF MY FRIENS HAVE RECEIVED THIS SAME CALL. THE CALLER HAD A HEAVY ACCENT, BUT IT SEEMED TO BE GERMAN. IF YOU'VE BEEN CONTACTED BY THIS COMPANY, PLEASE SUBMIT A COMPLAINT TO THE "NATIONAL DO NOT CALL" REGISTRY. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL DO SOMETHING TO PUT A HALT TO THIS BEFORE SOME ELDERLY PERSON FALLS PREY TO THEIR UNSAVORY SCAMS!

At 2030 last night my family received a call from TRIKON. The call back number was (360) 633-9006. The young man on the phone stated he wanted to check the status of my computer system. My wife and I hung the phone and tried to contact TRIKON using the number listed on my phone. The number was not in service.

I just received a call 12/7/2011 from Trikon. 2:44 p.m. Caller ID #253 326-2020. Same heavy East Indian accent. Caller knew my name, started to tell me their was an issue with my Windows 7 software.
I told him I did not own the computer, that it belonged to my company. Not true. I do own the computer, but it made him hang up on me. Just an FYI.

I get calls from this indain accented guy at least 10 times a day with different information, threatening me and saying they are the cops and all kinds of crap. If they are computer hackers, I need to know what to do. I am also worried about my safety from what everyone else is saying they say and what they have said to me. I have the voicemails, also. HELP!

Here is all the numbers they have called me from 727-386-9962,312-465-1111,305-925-0116,508-313-2173 and 508-683-0014. They have called from all these different numbers saying the same thing in their heavy Indian accent that its a law firm and my s.s# is under investigation for some payday loan that I never took. Yes its a scam and if we all keep doing what we are doing at least they won't get any money hopefully and maybe it will stop them one day. We could only hope.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller’s instructions. Rather, you should:

    ■Notify your banking institutions.
■Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
■Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
    ■File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

■Never give your Social Security number—or personal information of any kind—over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
■Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
■Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
■Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
■Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
■When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements
