Received a call from 1-212-698-5233 on 5/29/15.  I gave them the quick pickup and immediate hangup.  The caller ID was 'the phone number.  Checked 800 Notes and it was the old Windows virus scam.  'Your computer has notified us that you have a virus...blah blah blah. Blocked.

They called on 5/27/15 from 1-855-210-3300 and caller id of 800 service so be aware of these crooks using different numbers.

This person tried saying that I has a virus on my windows computer I was pretty sure they are scammers he had a heavy accent the name for the number said it was not available

Received one call on 5/29.  Call disconnected as soon as my machine picked up.  CID read "hEALTHCORE".  Based on comments this sounds like the old "Computer Help" scam.  Number is now blocked.

Same as the others. Tried to say he was a tech from windows and they had received error messages and spyware from my computer. He could not give me a phone number or address to verify who he was with and whether it was a legit call. Very heavy accent. Obviously a scam. Anybody who is legit can give you info to call back and verify. DONT FALL FOR THIS....told me that a 36 digit code was my computer ID and if I entered it in the computer it would show that this call was legit... haha  I did not fall for it and told him if he could not give me a call back number I was done .... and I hung up.

If the calls are coming from India, note that in India, hundreds of millions of people still defecate in the street.

This number continues to call my house.

They just called me. I'm older and know little about PC's. He kinda convinced me he was from Windows(yeah, I'm a dummy,lol).  Told him I wasn't sure if I believed him and he gave me a huge number to check so he could prove he was from windows.  He said to find that number I would need to...  click the window and 7 tab. When the window came up I clicked it and a black window opened.  He said to type in cssoc. I did, and it said that was invalid. I told him that and he told me I typed in the wrong thing. He gave me more numbers to type in. I didn't and I told him I couldn't here him well at all. He said he was having trouble hearing me also, and said he would call right back. He did, but I didn't pick up as I was starting to figure out it was a scam. Yes, I should've known it right away.
Could they have gotten into my PC from me typing cssoc into the black box(after the blinking dash next to my name) ?

They call multiple times a day and when they answer they state we have a computer virus.  The origination number is 2126985233 and shows up on our caller id 'Healthcor'.  This is harassment and needs to be stopped.

Guy with thick Asian accent called tonight,  usual "your computer is infected scam",   lots of other scammer in the background.   I played along for a little while just to mess with him.   Then started laughing and hung up.   Now blocked.

'Received a call similar to those received by others.  The person with a very foreign accent wanted me to turn on my wife's computer (which I wouldn't do because it was already on).  This guy said he was from Windows.  It was an obvious scam.  I am now going to the phone to put the number on the "blocked" list.

I got a call from healthcor 1 212 698 5233l.  They knew my name and tried to convince me I had a virus on my computer. I asked them how this could be since I don't own a computer. They hung up.

I got a call from healthcor 1 212 689 5233 saying I had a virus on my computer.  I asked how could this be since I don't own a computer? They hug up.

Report these kind of calls to the FCC, at www.FCC.gov!

Got a call from them just now telling me I needed to fix my computer. I was pretty sure it was a scam and I asked what the name of the person was who called about the problem and he had no answer. He then asked how old I was and I said I was under 18 just to make sure he would stop pestering me. He then asked what school I go to and off I did not answer. What he said next blew me mind - he proceeded to ask me if I had a boyfriend so I said no, stop wasting your time on trying to carry out a scam (and an awfully planned out one at that) AND before I hung up I heard him say 'oh because I'm lonely too and I was wondering if you would like me.'

As others have suggested, this is a consumer forum aimed at logging and identifying scammers, robocallers, telemarketers, etc.

You can search this forum for information on how to get yourself on the federal "DO NOT CALL" list.  However, in the process you will also find that the list is pretty much worthless.

Most of the people calling, esp the scammers don't care about the DO NOT CALL list.  If someone is planning on breaking the law through some scam, they are not likely going to care about an essentially toothless, unenforceable do-not-call law.

If you have a cellphone, you can get a call blocking app.  For landlines, either buy a dedicated call blocker or a phone that has call-blocking features.

After years of frustration dealing with unwanted calls, I purchased a set of Panasonic KX-TGE260 model phones.  It has the ability to block up to 250 numbers, including 8## numbers, entire area codes or area codes/exchanges.  Whenever I receive a call from a scammer identified on this website, or multiple calls from the same unknown number, it goes on my block list.

The phone can be set to ring once before blocking the call, or to not ring at all for blocked calls.  It also has a lot of other really good features, such as setting up a "silent" mode, so that the phone does not ring at all during hours you specify.  I.e. I have my phone silent from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am.  This can be set for all phones, or just specific headsets. i.e. if one member of the family has his/her own room and works a night shift, you can set their headset for silent mode during the day while they sleep.  It also allows you to override the silent mode for certain callers.  I have set up a group of family numbers (parents, brother, sister) and if they call during the silent mode hours, it lets them through in case of emergencies.

Just some thoughts.

CallerID says HEALTHCOR but they left no message on my answering machine.  They are blocked.

Received a call today from this company...said my firewalls are crashing...completed a norton scan all good.
