I have received two phone calls from these folks, and can tell it a scam. I simply put them blocked on auto reject. It's an easy solution.

This is a Scam company, just third world thieves.  They will tell you your PC has a virus they can fix, blah, blah.  BE AS ABUSIVE AS POSSIBLE TO THEM, then block them.  Go ahead and answer and let them know their mother is your sex toy.

This number called twice over the Thanksgiving holiday and I missed it. Today, December 1st, I got the call and a foreign voice said that they were 'Microsoft'. I hung up. I got a second call and answered, no voice. You can block the number in an iPhone - make a contact then block it when editing the contact.

Oops - you don't need to make a contact. Just tap the "i" next to the number in recents and scroll down to find the 'block caller' item.

I also received a call from this number on Thanksgiving day at 11:58 am, imagine the Federal Reserve Bank open on a federal holiday. Needless to say I did not answer, they have called repeatedly the next day. After reading these post I have put this number on auto reject.

A growing problem,  but a few things/info to do to discourage them:
1, Make sure you have CID and can see and have the phone record the time and number. Never answer the phone unless you know the number and/or name.  If it is someone you have to call back you have record of the call coming in.
    2. Do not use voice mail. Some scammers now leaving messages - brief but a pain to listen to and then delete. This only alerts there system that someone is living at that number.
3 Enrol with the appropriate gov Do Not Call service and report all calls. Keep a track of date, time and number - check out this web site to see how many people are complaining.  Some calls may just be wrong numbers - very few but it has happened.
4.Spoofed numbers are on the increase so go after your government to have them deal with this.
    5. Check out your gov web sites and see how many people have been duped by crooks.
6.Silence the ringer -  don't let the phone rule your life.   Check once in a while, remember your friends /contacts have your e-mail and cell numbers.
7 Most calls are robo calls from a computer, If answered then a live person takes over.
8.Change your tel number and go unlisted.  At least this will guard against people using phone directories etc.
    9. If it is a copany/org that can make calls (eg in Canada they allow charities, newspapers, surveys etc) then call them back and ask to be put on their Do Not Call list - I have found this works very well.  But I do note the conversation and if they call again - I report them.

The phone is an essential part of our lives - take control. Don't let it rule your life. It is a time consuming job for the agencies to track down the culprits - but they are having success - just too many crooks out their.

I received a call from 212-720-6130 from the Fed Reserve Bank and immediately they identified themselves as from Microsoft.  I guess they do it so often they forget what lines they are using.  Anyway they went through their script and then I told them I do not own a computer.  That caused them to pause and think of how to handle it.  So I was informed my computer name will be removed from the Microsoft Mainline Server.  That was the laugh I needed after dealing with a complex programming issue I was working on, using one of my three computers at home.

I'm getting these calls from 212-720-6130 like many of you. Take 3 minutes to call the FTC @ 1-877-382-4357 and file a complaint. They ask for your name, address, phone number, and the harassing number calling you. I'm of the persuasion that the more complaints for the same number they will get the authorities to investigate FASTER. JUST CALL

Caller ID says FED    ,RE with PH # 212-720-6130 has called me a few times in the past couple of days. He said he is from Microsoft Windows.  I didn't think they would call out of the blue, so I said our computers are working fine and hung up.

Foreign male voice said he was with Microsoft servers and that my computer told him that my computer was sending notifications that it needed fixing. Called twice today and once yesterday. He asked if I was near my computer. I said no and he asked if I could call him back. I told him no and I said I would call Microsoft myself if there were issues with my computer and hung up. They tried calling back again and I blocked the number.

I get calls from this number daily.  When I do answer, a person with a heavy accent says they are from Microsoft and my computer is infected and they can see the high level of virus activity going on with my computer.  They ask for me to visit a particular website or use the remote access feature of my computer to give them access to my pc.
When I'm in the mood (and similar to a post below), I keep them on the phone for as long as possible and make them repeat things, acting as if I don't know the most basic functions of a computer to keep them on the phone.  One guy got really irritated and was yelling at me when I didn't follow his directions.  He thought I was in front of my computer but I was driving, so the call was entertaining for me.

I do the same thing when they call. It's horrible that people actually fall for these scams! I've been getting calls from this number the last week or so with no one on the other line when I answer. So frustrating!

Indian accent. Said he wanted to help fix my computer problem. They call 6 - 8 times daily and hang up when I answer. Finally get one to speak to me. I told him I didn't have a problem and don't want these calls anymore. The little [***] threatened to disconnect me from my server. I'm a retired Army Computer Programmer....He started shouting at me and again threatened to disconnect my server. I told him I don't have a server and was going to go kick his monkey ass.......
