Same as the rest - just got a call from 1-212-885-2700. I answered by stating my name, there was silence, then they hung up.

It is obvious that you work for this annoying company.  Stop harassing people.  When they ask you not to call them you continue to do so.  That's annoying.  I answer a very busy switchboard and calls such as this sometimes cause me to miss potential customers that might be calling on another line because of you people tying up my lines.

These people are rude and obnoxious.  They called saying they were a "government contractor".  FRAUD

Guy says his with IDGA.  Institute for Defense and Government advancement.
We will see if he emails me the stuff he promised about some upcoming event in January.  He said his name was Tim Peoples.

They claim they are calling from the Institute of Defense & Gov. Advancement? Total bogus calls. Number on caller ID 212-885-2700.

recently started getting calls to my cell phone from 212-885-2700.  Have never answered them. Will follow-up will those identified in this thread.

IDGA = Institute for Defense and Government Advancement.  They provide or sponsor many interesting conferences for the military establishment, especially battlefieled healthcare. They are real people providing a real service. They are not telemarketers by any stretch of the imagination, but do provide a forum for marketers of various products to the military community.

Caller stated they needed to verify my physical address and email to send invitation to attend a government training seminar.

rec'd a call from iqpc regarding a sustainable facade design and engineering summit. i (stupidly) submitted my phone number in order to download a brief seminar related to the summit.

Same as all the above. They should be shut down.

(212) 885-2700 is IQPC.  They operate a number of executive conferences globally.  If they're calling you, they want to sell your company a sponsorship (eg: exhibitor), or you owe them $$ for sponsoring an event.  This is not a collection company -- rather a B2B interaction.

I am wondering. What's the point of them calling you and hanging up? What would their goal be? Seems kind of dumb to me.

The caller of this company has a british accent and it is very noisy in the background.  When I explained to him that he is unable to talk directly to president of the company he persisted and when I explained myself for the second time he acted like he coouldn't hear me.  In which case as my perogative I hung up on him.  He called back threating me in which I hung up again and then he called a third time at which point I find is harrassing and had the nerve to say I was rude. Still caller didn't identify himself.  Company sounds like a call center, bad news.

These are telemarketers and pretty aggressive ones at that... hang up on them, or talk about the weather, politics, your last vaca and suck up their time, and they will go away...

Got a call today from this number.  I did not answer (I never do - my voicemail clearly states the best way to get in touch with me is via email).  A message was left, but when I checked it, all I heard was heavy breathing (which lasted around 30 seconds), then the person hung up.

Totally weird.
