    Curious replies to Company 1
The reason you heard the the exact conversation in the background of your phone call is because GDS has a "team leader " listening in on the conversation a few feet away and loudly feeding every single word the caller says, "coaching" the fresh guys or gals. Every single word which they have to repeat verbatim or get yelled at.

    hey "yeah"
Did you really just criticize a young woman and her work....."pathetic" is a gds employee having to come on this website and defend being a COMPLETE SCUMBAG and write something like that...I have worked at GDS (for years) and left because of trashy people like yourself. Anyone who gets a call from these people please be advised that this company is made up of young people all >30 who are brainwashed by scumbags to become scumbags. They all use illicit drugs(YES THEY DO) and lie about circulations and their "Delegate" list made up of people that would never even do business with GDS.//They have all types of lawsuits including :sexual harassment, drug possession and many other similar ones. I used to work at GDS and regret every moment of it. [***] GDS---im glad i just came through here to see if complaints are still on this site...lol (the complaints start on this forum after I worked here... 36 pages of these complaints  and sporadic CURRENT GDS employees monitoring this site..actually hiring a lawyer to prevent complaints.HOW" PATHETIC!!!!"

Spencer Green _"YOU LYING CHEATING BLOKE, YOUR COMPANY IS A JOKE" DONT DO BUSINESS WIT THESE CROOKS AND IF YOU WORK THERE ..GET OUT.....YOU KNOW ITS A SCAM....I WORKED THERE AND CAN ASSURE YOU EVERYTHING YOU READ ON HERE IS TRUE

I got a phonecall from them recently. They're interviewing in London from the 29th-3rd of this month and I'va arranged an interview for one of these days. So glad I found this thread. Still, I'm tempted to go to my interview and take a hidden camera/mic and completely out these motherfunglers. Would be funny to see the reaction on the face of my interviewer.

GDS are liars. replies to Stringer Bell
You will probably meet Tudor Williams at the interview. A vile specimin of a man and a very very good liar. He will undoubtedly tell you of the huge comissions to be earned and the opportunities to travel to wonderful locations. (where GDS have another boiler room). He will probably not mention that you will be forced to lie, scheme and basically make up products to sell. He will offer you a 20k basic to sell your soul.In return you will become an acoomplished liar, scammer and a cheat. Do what you feel is best. (It doesnt involve GDS!)

It's unreal how similar they look to GDS, from the cr*ppy video with spotty half wits rail roaded into giving sound bites, the vague job specs even the glass in the office with the names of companies they have "worked with" (for worked with I mean spoke to on the phone once).

Hopefully they'll all run each other into the ground. They wouldn't be missed.

    Former employee
Ok, I just saw this blog. I worked at GDS for close to 4 years and had a decent amount of success. I met every single on of my clients after the sale, and most of them saw results as a result of the summits I worked on. I will admit I do not know the first thing about the publications, but I do know they are all being shut down as of Jan 1. As for you secretaries, the only person you are important to is your self. You have NO CLUE how business gets done, so just answer the phone and dictate letters and stop trying to be a boss. ALL of the business I did was with C-level execs who all had secretaries who told me their boss wasn't interested. Pathetic creatures for sure. As far as the sales techniques, aggressive yes, a little underhanded sure, but again, I NEVER failed to deliver the product I promised for the price I promised. And when things went wrong, they were reimbursed.

Actually I reckon the Recruitment managers or 'HR Directors' should shoulder a lot of the blame for brainwashing these kids in the first place. I don't think any of them can hold their heads up high and say they've sucked anyone into that company based on the truth -  from 'good' guys like Rudy Millard through to the dullards like Zapata and Williams - all a bunch of liars

    A question

I've heard that GDS recently laid off all editorial and production staff and wants to focus soley on events in the future. Is this true? That changes its business somewhat if it is.

worked at gds for a few years and honestly have no bad feelings looking back, just good memories. sure its not a career job or the most respectable profession to get into right outta college, but the economy sucks and this was the hand i was dealt. i also made decent money and made some real good friends there. ----now things changed and i moved on to work for the city as a project manager....my main point is if ur a 21 year old kid , the crowd is like a continuation of college--lots of fun times, trips, great parties, but its a boiler when it comes down to it.  once you hit 24-25, its time to seriously start thinking about life and get a real job and the experiences here arent useless at all. so you guys should think about that before you trashtalk.---your only hurting yourselves on this site cuz once you leave the company --think of what your recruiter would think if s/he saw this site.--so take it easy.

Recruiters on GDS! replies to ex-gds
Why would you ever say you worked for GDS/..? Recruiters do not recognize them, others companies do not value them, the only rep they get is a play pretend rep they create for themselves but no one really believes them.

So please lets not stop the truth because everyone knows the truth.....the only positive might be that you worked and lasted over 6 months on the funny farm.....but left with some ethics intact!

Most recruiters know GDs and thats why they do not work with them!

I work there now and they (we) are bunch of shonks, i wont comment on the product because i don't know enough about it and if it realy benefits clients or not, but their morals and code of ethics are horrenduous. Some of us don't use their dirty tricks and stil make sales but the managers dissaprove of that!!!!LOL

Oh and you can't be one minute late, you can be as high as kite and behave in a way that would get you fired from any other job, but god help you if you're late.

And the magazines yave officialy been scrapped.

Yep that's the culture alright! Congrats on scrapping the magazines cos that was one big con! We Win!

Now in Events at least business people can get free drinks before listening to waffle and digesting those GDS cliche's!

    big mistake replies to annie
Annie I regret it and am only staying because I need to pay bills and a job change would really mess me up right now.

Be prepared to stand your entire shift even if you have a perfectly good chair at your desk.

Be prepared to be spoken down to.

Be prepared to be told to lie in such a discusting way that it would turn the stomachs of 95% people.

In the interview they do the same con job ON YOU THAT they do on their clients, I could tell the place was suss and slimy and my gut instinct was to turn it down....but they have a great website and web designers and they can make stuff look better than it is.

Having said that there are people there who are happy and make decent money (OR AT LEAST THAT APPEARS TO BE THE CASE).
