got a call last night, first time, didn't leave a message and now that i see this, no point in calling back.  luckily no air time is used in unanswered calls . . .

got a call, of course i don't answer if it's not connected to one of my "contacts" ~ no message was left

LEFT NO VOICE MAIL.

The U.S. budget deficit could be eliminated were Congress to impose a hefty tax on those who ring during dinnertime with requests for donations.  In this time of recession calls are really annoying.

The country would be better off were voters smart enough not to elect the mentally ill who tax, spend, and solicit donations.

They call everyday.  I've have gone to Telefund's web site and got thier client list. I've started notifing thier clients that I have stopped donating because of Telefund.

If they already *have* your number, how is leaving your number at that extension possibly gonna make anything worse? :p

I've started to make them pay for the call. I "answer it" and then just put them on hold by putting the phone down and walking away. Or I simply answer and then hang up. Either way they have to pay for the call. Lets waste their money and their telemarketers time!  ;)

It is a fund raising telemarketer call Telefund, INC.  I purchased a cordless phone system that has a call block feature.  Its from Panasonic...comes in real handy. I enter all numbers who call me and leave no message.  It rings once then is blocked...the caller hears a series of beeps pn their end then disconnect.

reading these posts . . . I returned the call,  heard instructions for those wanting to work shifts at this 'progressive cause' call center - followed by their invitation to leave a do-Not-call number (" & please repeat it"),  
So I  did:  I said "Please Do NOT Call" and slowly left my 10 digit number. Nothing else. Hope it works to do that!!

The woman was calling for IRC and VERY PUSHY.  I told her that I am helping others and I cannot help everyone.  She would not take no and went on to say "do I know what's going on....etc." as she spoke of Japan.  Again, I said I do and that I'm helping folks in our country.  She then went on to say how our country has issues, but no way like Japan, Ivory Coast, etc.  

Last I heard, donating means you are "giving" and I will not be bullied as this woman would NOT give up.  The more I tried to explain I am stretched thin the more she went in to details of those around the world.  VERY frustrated I hung up.

I will NOT be bullied over the phone by someone to donate MY MONEY.  I loan on KIVA for years now, I volunteer, I give clothing and help the Red Cross.  I think this woman crossed the line with her pushy attitude.  I would be curious if IRC knew how pushy and rude some of these people can be as I'm sure I'm not the first to feel "forced" in to giving.  I will not be forced.

TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST.

THIS IS TELEFUND AND THEY ATTEMPT TO COLLECT  CONTRIBUTIONS FOR CHARITIES.
TELEFUND HAS CALLED ME FROM SEVERAL OTHER NUMBERS BUT THIS IS A FIRST FOR THIS NUMBER.
I RECENTLY GOT A PANASONIC PHONE (FROM COSTCO) CHEAP!!!  IT BLOCKS NUMBERS AND WORKS WONDERFULLY!
THEY ARE NOW ON THE BLOCKED LIST!

you are lucky it's only several times a week.  They call me daily --sometimes twice a day---

I am on the no-call list, but get calls daily from these people.  Is there no way to stop it?

RECEIVED A CALL THIS EVENING @ 7:19PM - DURING DINNER.  
THEY ALSO CALLED LAST EVENING @ 8 PM - DURING DINNER.
MY FAMILY WAS NOT DISTURBED BY THEIR CALLS.  THEIR NUMBER IS BLOCKED!    
FACE THE FACTS FOLKS - THE "DO NOT CALL LIST" IS TOTALLY USELESS.
FILING AN FCC COMPLAINT IS ALSO USELESS - DONE THAT - NOTHING HAPPENS.
GETTING A CALL BLOCKING PHONE IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THESE NUISANCE CALLS.
PANASONIC AND UNIDEN MAKE CALL BLOCKING PHONES THAT ARE INEXPENSIVE AND BOTH HAVE A 2nd WIRELESS HANDSET.
****GET A CALL BLOCKING PHONE AND HAVE PEACE IN YOUR HOME!!!!*****
INCIDENTALLY, I ALSO RECEIVED TWO "OUT OF AREA" CALLS THIS EVENING.  
THESE TWO CALLS WERE ALSO BLOCKED!

I have been equally irritated by 213-487-9500.  I finally called them using *67.  It is a fundraising organization for progressive political groups and non-profits.  A very courteous woman's voice provides the option to be taken off the Do Not Call list.  That was easy.  I hope it works.  One down, 15 or 20 to go...

Call blocking phones are very inexpensive $40-$60 and they come with, at least, one wireless handset.  Very, very convenient.

Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones.  They’re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd. wireless handset.  COSTCO & AMAZON SELL THEM.  
They work beautifully!  These phones also block “PRIVATE”, “OUT OF AREA” and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!
I have had the same home number and the same business phone number for over 15 years and my home and my business lines (both published) seem to be on every imaginable call list.  I bought a Panasonic call blocking phone for my home and I bought a Uniden call blocking telephone for my business.
NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH TELEMARKETERS.  THEY CAN’T GET THROUGH!
We can stop these telemarketers IF we all buy a call blocking phone.
