Apex Merchant Group - This is a scam service.  Don't bother answering.  From http:ripoffreports.com:

Apex Merchant Group of Plano, TX, from all indication seems to be a new LLC formed some time in late 2008, filed with TX Dallas BBB in January 2009.

Merchants, please look elsewhere. Other credit card processing companies will give you the credit card processing machines FREE. Apex will try to get you to sign a NON-CANCELLABLE 5-YEAR Leasing contract with their "sister company" (Merimac Capital) costing you up to a total of $6,000!! Be wary and read the fine print before signing the 3 yr and 5 yr contract which is AUTO RENEWABLE BY APEX!! If you don't cancel, you are hooked for another 3 or 5 yrs!! At that point, they will nail you for hefty early cancellation fees.

Apex Merchant Group is linked/affiliated with, if not one of the same, as First American Payment Systems (Forthworth, TX) and Trans Tech Merchant Group. These companies have had many complaints and disputes against them. Go read First American Payment Systems' rap sheet on Fortworth TX BBB, and the endless complaints on this site (ripoffreport.com). Fortworth TX BBB listed all the different names they operate under:

It's evident from all the complaints on Ripoffreport.com and the number of complaints filed with TX fortworth BBB, that those companies have unethical business practices and treat their merchants poorly and unfairly. So it seems that they reinvented themselves, created a new name and will continue to do what they have always done.

Try asking them how long they have been in business or how many employees they have. You will never be able to get an straight answer!

Apex Merchant Group is nothing more than a brand new ISO/MSP for KeyBank National Association of Cleveland Ohio. Independent Sales Organization (ISO), also called a Member Service Provider (MSP) which is an outside company (not a MasterCard or Visa member) that is contracted by a member bank (each member bank may be a member of Visa or MasterCard, or both) to procure new merchant relationships for the specific bank. They are like a mortgage broker, working on commissions only.

I know there are a lot of unemployed folks out there now in need of jobs. Apex is aggressively seeking for independent contract sales reps in the MASS/New England area. They are advertising on job boards like Monster.com. Job seekers, please be wary and very careful, read ALL the fine print, before signing anything from Apex. They may have the right to investigate your credit and employment history, or even obtain credit reports on you.

Well, this 'Man" called and asked for the owner of the company. You don't get him unless you go through me. Companies like this are the reason why. When I explained this to him and asked how I could help, he just hung up.. Sounds like I'm glad he did. What a jerk though...

To those who get calls from these buffoons....just have a little fun and call back to the sales number at 214-440-0220...and give them an earful!

I did and it was a great feeling!

These scam artists are ALWAYS calling and trying to get you to respond in an affirmative matter to strange questions in order to hook you into a verbal contract. Then they send you a bill for services that they NEVER provide and try to collect with threatening phone calls from UNKNOWN third parties, probably their in-house goon squad.

If their number shows up, answer their questions with the same question repeatedly and they will hang up on you. Or, just don't answer their calls and let them harass someone else. Too bad the Texas Attorney General's Office could care less about prosecuting and shutting down these operations. If they did their job, we wouldn't have to!

Received a call from these guys today. 4 different times. Shined them on as I do with most telemarketers. I am so glad I google searched this number. Thanks to all who post and participate.

Re: Small Business Owner  - So true, whenever you get a telemarketing call, never NEVER say the word "Yes" to any question they answer.  You can say "that is the correct information" or similar, but never use the word "Yes".  There have been cases where they record the phone call and edit it to make it sound like you said "Yes" when asked if you wanted some kind of service.

These guys called me, but I just got dead air...

Very Very Very rude people. I told them to quit calling our business and he informed me that he did not have to quit calling. He called me a name and told me that I had no right to tell him to quit calling.

Asked if we accepted Visa and Mastercard.  I said "Yes."  Then asked for the business owner by name and promptly hung up after I put him on hold.  Caller ID did show as APEX MERCHANT.

Received a call she could barely speak proper asked for owner soi then pressed a button so a loud beep sounded in their ear and they hung up

We are on the national do not call list - the caller was very rude about business to business and hung up. I would like to call her while she is at home since we are not open during the time she phoned.

WHAT A JOKE !!!! either spit the crud out of your mouth or learn to speak English.. PS better hope I never find you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will also lie and say they ARE your Merchant Services company.  Never say "yes" or "ok" - they do record these calls and edit them into an authorization of their services! I love the "press a button on the phone & make it beep in THEIR ear" idea..... I'll have to try that next time they call, which of course they will....

Report them to the DO Not Call Registry -  888/382-1222 and follow the prompts - you will need the phone # that called you, the date they called, and make the call FROM the phone that they called.

Second time they have called and my number is registered with the do not call registry.

They called.. but didn't leave a message. Thanks to the team here that takes the time to expose these ass-hats. I'll be ready for them next time.

Got a call from them. Don't know how they got my number; didn't pick up. Reading some of the stories here though, it could be because I was co-founder of a small startup years ago.

Thanks for this list and information. I was called by them today ,and could hear lots of background noise and a long delay before they talked. Just like a call center with no real value. Thanks

Long pause as phone system connects me. (At this point I'm on guard)

Called but I didn't pick up. How to get them to stop calling?!!!

Just got the call on my cell phone.  So much background noise I couldn't make out what they were saying.  Wanted to know if I was the owner of my business and then wanted to know if I took credit cards.   Just hoping I didn't say yes somewhere in the broken up call based on the previous comments.  How do these people get your do not call numbers anyway?
