Called but I didn't pick up. How to get them to stop calling?!!!

Just got the call on my cell phone.  So much background noise I couldn't make out what they were saying.  Wanted to know if I was the owner of my business and then wanted to know if I took credit cards.   Just hoping I didn't say yes somewhere in the broken up call based on the previous comments.  How do these people get your do not call numbers anyway?

Got a call from the 214-440-0277 number.  How can we stop these kinds of calls?  Does anyone know how to block these calls?

Are you kidding? I love getting calls from these [***]! Since my business has very few walk-in customers I just say "Yes I'll get the owner for you" and put the phone on muted speaker phone, then just listen as they get all pissed off because they are on hold so long. Then when they get tired of holding they say "hello..anybody there?" then I quickly pick up the phone and tell them that the "owner" really wants to take their call and to wait just a little longer while "he" finishes with a customer, then I put the [***]-knockers on muted speaker phone again and let them rot for 5 more minutes (they think they are on hold because they hear a click when I mute them) I just sit there and laugh my ass off along with the two other guys in my office. HA HA HA stupid [***]! Man you really got to try it...it's hilarious!

Chris called asked for “the owner of company” asked who was speaking he stated Chris from Apex. I put him on hold. Then told him that the owner was in a meeting if I can take a message he said tell him Chris from Apex called and hung up. No phone number nothing. Funny.

So if I said "yea so"  does that mean i am getting a contract?
Do I need to send a cease and desist letter?

They seem to call once a week but leave no message. Today I picked up and they asked "Is this (name of wife's company)?" I said "can I help you?" Repeated question and I repeated answer 3 times. They thanked me and hung up. Glad I read all the posts here. I will warn the wife not to answer their calls.

I recognized this number from MANY *nasty* calls...sooooo...I picked up and when I heard the "background noise" I proceeded to start spewing high pitched "foreign sounding GIBBERISH" at them..
the "caller" became INCREASINGLY louder and DEMANDING in their "tone of voice"... I just proceeded with my "gibberish assault"...one minute was about all the "caller" could stand....she got VERY angry and said: "I can't take this any more..." and was STILL ranting as she hung up....
it was rainy out and I had a nice sandwich next to my phone so I munched and gave "them" the
FOREIGN GIBBERISH treatment...GREAT FUN!!!

They got a list from of businesses who accept Visa/MC.. and are trying to set up (snork) merchant accounts.
I told the gal that she should research her company on the net.. and see what people think about her employer...

I am a small business owner and recieved a call from them yesterday. I answered the phone and there was clearly someone there. Whoever was there hung up without saying a word. Not a way to get them business. Showed up on my caller ID as "Apex Merchant".

Wow.  It's crazy how many companies are dealing with this problem.  I got a call from these people too.  They just said, "Where is the owner?"  I said, "Who are you?  This is the third call today where someone asks for the owner."  They instantly hung up.  I can't believe people are falling for this BS.  I call back and the number is disconnected.  Next one that calls is getting an earful.

Thanks for the info.   I get calls from them all of the time and do not bother to answer.   Why aren't these scam outfits closed and put under lock and key.   They waste huge amounts of time.

These jokers call me but since since it is a long distance # I Googled it first & here i am...just added them to my phones reject list.  Others that call trying to sell anything to the owner I tell them "The owner only considers solicitations received throught U.S. Postal Service mail" so if you want to solicit the owner you'll have to spend on a stamp.   they ALWAYS hang up !   :)

These people call everyday, several times a day & ALWAYS hangup without saying a word. SO ANNOYING!

I just got a call from Apex, and the same spiel that I've been getting from a few companies regarding my business' credit card processing. I tell the caller that the owner of the business isn't available, and ask whta the call is in regards to, and this caller hung up. I called the number back, and I got a recorded message saying that my call didn't go through. Did it twice to make sure I called the proper number. Same thing. I also called the sales number (214-440-0220), and I got the same recorded message. Total a**hat scammers!

VERY rude telemarketers!  I immediately blocked their # from further calls - don't give these folks the time of day - SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!

They call and but wont leave a message. # now blocked problem solved
