I wish I would have found this site sooner because I just got scammed by somebody going by the name of John McArthur@msn.com. I found his ad on a website called autoferret.com and replied back. He said that he was getting rid of a 2003 Lincoln Navigator for 4300.00 because he was being deployed to Iraq. He said he didn't want the vehicle to sit and get old because he didn't know how long he was going to be gone. He used Ebay as a source to make the transaction. He had them send me an invoice and told me that I could transfer the money via moneygram but I could subtract the moneygram expenses from the amount of the truck and once the transaction was verified by ebay it would be but into a trustfund account and the shipping process would begin. He also said that he would handle all of the shipping because he was in the service and that after i recieved the vehicle I would have three days to test drive the vehicle and after that I should email ebay and tell them if I want to keep it. If so then they would then transfer the money to him or something like that. He said he would not be receiving any money until I make my decision and If i didn't want to keep it then I would have to ship the vehicle back and the money would be fully refunded by ebay. This man claimed to live in Montana the agent name he used that he said was through ebay was Derreck Clinton. I wish I could get a hold of this S.O.B. He would wish he never scammed anyone once my husband was done with him. God doesnt like ugly and he will reep what he sowed.

    dear doug,
I am an army spouse and my husband and I were scammed by "ssgt dave hunter".  He really is stationed in UK, so when my husband went ako and looked him up, he felt secure....obviously it was NOT the real dave hunter.  We are NOT taking this lying down.  We have "bought" several vehicles using our own made up emails.  I have contacted FBI, DOD, even the white house....I even made the local news last night...www.myfoxhouston.com  push the local button, and I am main story for Feb. 20th 2009.  I promise they will regret scamming me.  I have become worse than a ferocious dog looking for his bone. Every time we "buy" a car we send new info to website for FBI..ic3.gov...I want to rock their world.  We need all the help we can to get these scumbuckets.

Just to set the record straight....eBay WAS NOT used.
The scammers sent you a page made to look like you were somehow using eBay. You can not 'use' eBay just for random purchases. eBay is an auction website and THAT IS IT.

Across the top of the Craigslist cars/trucks page there is a huge warning:

"OFFERS TO SHIP CARS ARE 100% FRAUDULENT."

Still, I feel for the folks that got taken.

just so you know, I have original email from ssgt "dave hunter" from 2 weeks ago, and there was NO warning as there has been on my recent inquiries.  I don't know if it's because they have been bombarded with complaints that these have started showing up.

I have been bombarding the ic3.gov website with all the cars I have "bought". My husband is also busy finding the REAL military personnel and informing them that their good name is being abused. Most of these guys have no idea their name is being used in a scam..We have made it our purpose of the moment to let them know.  Maybe when they find out and get po'd more action might be taken.  I will do whatever I can to make sure no one has to go through what we have gone through.

I found a 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited with only 19,000 miles. She was selling it for $7,200. She went by the name Roberta Samson. She claimed she was a single mom just divorced, she ended up with the car and it had bad memories. She told me it was in a shipping yard in Miami ready to be shipped out to were I needed it. I got an e-mail from ebay motors. She was very convincing and willing to help me get it ASAP. I just had to send her a deposit and I would recieve the car. They almost got me then I went to the Better Buisness Beauru before I made any money transactions could not find the agent she was going through, I then googled it and got a link to this website, go figure. She used the e-mail raltrise98@googlemail.com dont fall for it, its a SCAM!!!!!!

Mannnn, this piece of sh*t almost scammed the WRONG PERSON!  Serious.  My husband and I were searching craigslist for SUVs on sale in the Seattle-Tacoma area.  We came across an ad for a black 2004 Lincoln Navigator, 26" Giovanni wheels, "clean title," DVD player, built-in navigation--the works.  All for $4900.  Like many of you, I seriously thought there must've been a typo in the ad.  My initial reaction was: Who in the right mind would sell that type of car--especially with all the features that came along with it--for under $5,000?!

My husband proceeded to e-mail U.S. TECH SGT. THOMAS FLAMMGER.  His e-mail response was pretty much, word-for-word, the same as the rest of you.  My husband ran the VIN# through carfax.com, and everything seemed legit.  And he claimed E-Bay would hold our money in a trusted account until we accepted the vehicle, and then they would release the money to him.  My husband is currently deployed overseas and so I tried to get a loan thru a local bank here just because we really wanted the car.  We even applied for loans online and applied for an auto loan thru our bank back home (O'ahu, HI).  All of this happened just this past week.

We are expecting our tax return at the end of this week, and so my husband and I were actually going to deposit the money from our tax return (which would've been almost the entire thing) for the car.  Plus, my hubby will be home next week for R&R so we were real excited about this deal that we thought we scored on.  BUT, I still had that gut feeling that this was all just too good to be true.  So two nights ago, we were chatting online thru Skype and I told my husband that we both needed to do our homework first to make sure we don't get screwed.  All I had to do was google Sgt. Thomas Flammger and the first posting that showed up was a craigslist ad requesting to "flag the Lincoln Navigator scammer!"  Woooww....the horns came out.  To think we almost gave away nearly $5,000 to some a**hole who could care less about the many other bills we could've spent that hard-earned money on.

And he's abusing the identities of military personnel!  My husband is a sergeant in the Army and is on his second tour of duty, we have two young children, and we're in a new state.....uggggh!  This made my blood boil.  And to think we were both worried that he had already found someone to buy his car because after my husband sent him an e-mail expressing our interest in the car, the craigslist ad was deleted that same day.  This dick had pictures posted on photobucket and everything.  And my husband asked him if we could deposit the money thru someone else's PayPal account since we didn't have one, and he agreed.  So I guess he's okay with using PayPal as a method of payment.

And I guess his English has gotten better (or perhaps he is using a translator) because I compared my e-mail to the rest of yours and his grammar has cleaned up a bit.  Damn fob!  *LOL*  Hopefully others will do their research as well before they get scammed into losing their hard-earned money or being the butt of their loved ones' jokes.

I have read all of the postings about this sick animal and listed all of the countless fake names below:

Robert Larson; Lt. Chad Maxwell; John McArthur; Sgt. Andrew Bullock; Michelle Lynn; Sgt. Allan Porter; MSgt. Douglas Gosselin; Robert Defilante, Jr.; SSgt. Dave Hunter; Nancy Martinez; Church Gunner; Jeremy Duroe; Robert Thomas; Sarah Fisher; Ana Brown; Wendy Barnes; Sgt. Wilson; Gabriel Edwards; Dina Marchuk; Nilsen Gustav; Kayla Wilson; Dorff Fulman; Roberta Samson; Angela Patton; Maria Kaser; James Campbell; Irwin; Debbie Smith; Paula Cote; Anthony Guerrero; Brenda Dunn; Wayne Rowland; Tayler Jacobsen; Vanessa Marge; Anna Davis; Laura Tims; David Higgins; SSgt. James Hammond

And here is a list of the makes/models of the cars/bikes that the demon has been fraudelently selling on various websites:
Toyota; Honda; Volkswagon (Jetta); Lincoln Navigator; Fat Boy/Harley Davidson; BMW; Porsche; Tractor; Subaru; Audi; Motor home; Jeep Grand Cherokee; Cadillac; Lexus; Acura

This [***] is clearly still at his sick game.

Thank you Darlene. I'm the actual TSgt Flammger and I'm happy to hear you've taken so much action on this scam. I'm happy to serve my country and people like you.

This guy is a parasite tarnishing the good name and reputation of my beloved Air Force. I was shocked to find out that there's almost nothing I can do about this guy. Even though a google search confirms that I'm the only person on the planet with my name, even though I sent g-mail gobs of proof that this guy is a fraud and violating the g-mail terms of use, they won't close his g-mail account.

    Thank you again.
