I have written back asking him for some more information,... leading him on a bit, but I don;t really have time to chase him down. I might call the cops and see if they want me to 'refer' a new interested buyer (the cops) to him since I can't buy it myself right now. ahem ... "A tree fell on my fence, and I have to use my bike money to fix it.", yeah,... that's what happened,.. A tree. And Morgan Fairchild was in it!

I fell for this scam on the 28th of April!  Wire transfered $15,000 for a too good to be true Range Rover!  I realized I had been "had" mere hours after sending the transfer so my bank issued a recall but with no luck.  Now I have an attorney who is hunting down BofA since they're the bank who refused the recall and is insisting on helping these types of people commit fraud!  I may never get my money back but I honestly feel we anyone who was successfully scammed, should contact me so we can form a coalition and hit Congress with this.  If the good people of America have less security and protection than these jag-off scammers, something is terribly wrong!  And anyone who has been scammed needs to file with the FBI internet crimes!!! Basicly Autotrader holds your money safe until you confirm that the bike is what you have been expected and you want to buy it. It is not a sight unseen deal.

I saw a similar ad on Criagslist (Portland) and sent an email to the guy. The response I got is exactly the same as some of the others with small modifications. He's now scamming under the name "Michael Boren" with email ID : michaelbbor@gmail.com

Buyers beware - this is a huge scam. When I searched for this name I found some doctor in Arizona. Then found several sites talking about this scam. Good luck!

We lost $15000 on Friday 06/05/09 in a very similar scam. We were bidding on a BMW on ebay and wire transferred $15000 to a Wells Fargo account through our account at BOA.We also faxed the copy of the Wire Transfer to the fax no provided on the fake Invoice sent apparently by ebay VPP center.In the next 10 minutes we get another Invoice and new account details saying that we should do a stop payment on the previous one citing some confusing reason. This raised a red flag and we contacted ebay customer support who confirmed our worst fear that this transaction didnt exist on ebay . We have filed a complaint with local law enforcement and will be filing a complaint on ic3.gov
We can totally understand what you feel and want to do everything possible to prevent other unsuspecting people from falling prey to these scams and bring these thieves to justice.
I totally agree with you that we all who have been victimised in this way and where Banks and related organizations have refused to support us, need to form a coalition and address this issue with the congress.
