This number called me today, one of many who have called me stating the same thing about bank or check fraud. I have a small notebook full of these numbers and they are all scams. The government cannot track these companies down, the consumer protection agency cannot either. I am now practicing the art of not returning any of these calls so they can verify my phone number is a good one.

People of the USA: ignore these calls regarding payday loans. These terrorists got your information from you filling out an online application for a loan. You may not have even received the money but you made the list. Now, so many years later they are calling you in hopes you forgot you took out a loan or never paid it back. No one will show up at your place of residence or employer. Let any family members know about this as well because many of these companies (well, they might be all one company) will try to google you and track down all relatives, etc. You will not get anywhere calling these companies back and that will only verify your number is good to them. If you have any debt, it's on your credit report, go by that. Any legit company is going to inquire your credit report, get your most  recent mailing address, contact you via. Us Mail. As far as a court case, the courts know how to find you and you will just be served, no one is going to contact you, you will just get the paperwork delivered.

I cannot stress this enough, but call your local FBI (especially if you've given these scammers any $$), police or sheriff's department AND file complaint at www.ic3.gov.

***these persons are 100% CRIMINALS, scammers***

one simple way to get rid of them immediately: tell them you'll take the court option and they'll back off because there IS NO court option as these persons are frauds and would be the equivalent of a drug dealer calling to threaten you with legal action over non-payment for cocaine. good luck with that! if you opt for the court option, they'll know person isn't going to pay them EVER and nothing further they can do to further their scam.

    another option with IMMEDIATE results:
parts of this group was busted w/both a dummy credit card just for getting their location, as well as a breached credit card (1 of cards breached in one of the many chain store hacks (Target, Home Depot, etc.)). that info is MOST valuable: it helped pin-point their location: Las Vegas at a Beauty and Barber shop and give a ton of valuable information.

but when given a breached credit card, that is of no use to you but is now valuable in helping catch these creeps, they'll receive an authorization number thinking they've been paid while the VISA/Mastercard/AmEx's fraud protection system is IMMEDIATELY ALERTED heavily then gives you a case number AND tell you where (city, store name, etc) the card was used from. use that case number & info when contacting law enforcement who can then go after them asaFp because they actually attempted to use the card for fraudulent purposes. your local law enforcement can possibly give you dummy credit card to pin-point their location. etc.

they've already got your name and if you don't phone them back, they'll call family, friends, neighbors, employer, etc. but call them back BUT not from the number they've called you on. call back from a Google's gmail dialer which keeps your info private. if they ask you to verify info (DOB, last 4 of SSN) give them anything but yours. you confirming your info lets the scammers know they have the right person and can also proceed with ID theft, etc. and sell your info to someone else.

they're scammers who have STOLEN or purchased your info, and in most cases only have partial info. or they are just randomly dialing available phone numbers. you may have applied for a loan at one point or simply used as a reference for a loan by someone else. once you call them back from the same number they're calling you on, scammers THEN verify they have a valid number THEN gather any and all personal details about you as well as purchase your mobile phone records and then start calling most frequently dialed number. how they were busted with that: brother had a new number that was only 1-day old but it was the last number called from. these scammers called him and threatened him w/ info for me. he thought it was legit, called me and now that he knows they're scammers he will have a blast with them from now on -- waste their time

but one company they're claiming to represent tendollarpaydayloan.com was already sued by the West Virginia Attorney General's office and made outlaws, so the owner is literally on the run. so claiming to be a representative of that company immediately lets me know they're 100% scammers. they'll often use a fake "corporation name" for the loan company, but it's same crap. they operate out of the Bahamas/Caribbean or Florida area then use a slick dialing system where one area phones out to you, gives you a "temp" number to phone into and that call is routed to various locations across the country or outlying U.S. areas. so you could be talking to anyone but you're definitely not talking to a legitimate organization.

Not only are they leaving me harrassing messages day and night about check/bank fraud, but they are actually leaving them for someone else's name whom I do not recognize!  Annoying.  They seem to pop up once or twice a year, leave a flurry of messages, and then go back in hiding for awhile.

Get a call blocker.   Also I would go to the police and give them all the information you have and see what they can do.  This looks like straight out extortion.

I got a message today from them and I got scared. I ended up paying $200. But as soon as the call was over I checked online and it seems to be a scam. I called my credit card and explained to them that I may have gotten scammed, so I cancelled my credit card. Did I do the right thing, has anyone ever paid them and had backlash from not paying them?

Left a message on my husband's phone, with his name, stating they were investigating check fraud, were going to verify employment and income with his employer, and call by the end of the day to avoid legal action. He called me freaked out, I googled it, and found the number in a consumer alert on the Federal Trade Commission website with heading Phantom Debts and Collection Notices. And Lo' and Behold, their web page says verbatim what the recording said! It is a scam.

I have been receiving phone calls from a supposed debt collector for someone who is not me, does not live here, never has, never had this phone number as I got it new when building a new home on vacant land. I have called, requested that they stop. I am assured that my number will be deleted from there info, I have also been hung up on while asking how I can make sure this doesn't happen any longer. Had rude comments made when making the statement that this is harassment. I want to find out how to stop this. I am on do not call lists. What else is there for me to do? They hold my line for over 5 minutes repeating the same recorded message. The number is 214-504-2986

Been getting blocked calls for months. I answer or call back and ask them to stop calling. They tell me sorry for the trouble and say they'll remove my number from the system. Few days later they call again. I'm so sick of this. They aren't even looking for me. They have my number as someone else.
Also name on voicemail is Lucas John
