These people called me last week and after reading notes  I did not call them back. However today I got a message from my step mom saying they called her. So I called them back and they told me it was for a debt that I created with Sprint in 2007 funny thing is I have had my same phone with a different company since 2006. When they realized they were caught they hung up on me. I called multiple times to make sure they did not call me or family members again and they hung up on me multiple times. I will be filing a FBI complaint and other complaints Per someone else's comments. These people are ridiculous

Same message as everyone else...they called my sister for me also..and when I call back I get voice mail. Waste of time. Put myself on the do not call registry.

I just received a call like that and it has me worried about my son. I tried calling the number and leaving messages and no one returns my call. After reading your post I am afraid I gave information I should not have given.

I received a  threatening message about my son being taken to court for Bank Fraud. Tried calling back and no one returns my call.

got one of those calls for my daughters bf, same canned spiel of bank fraud, etc others are reporting, i know the bf has never lived here, has never used my lan line number. works for himself, has no bank account or writes checks. oddity i got unknown call on caller id, they hung up on answering machine, 5 mins later got the bank fraud contact the employer for him. glad i checked it out here and at tellows.  interesting that someone mentioned facebook, i know he has a fb account, i am reporting this to my local police dept, and filing complaint with fcc.

the same call went to me and my son's about me, it is a total scam, I've not worked in four years and on a cash only basis for at least 3 years.......no employer, no bank, no checks....DO NOT RESPOND EITHER BY PHONE OR BY E-MAIL

just got the same call on my cell phone many are reporting from this number. same speach. when called back got music, then vm goin to some lucas.

Just something I came across today while researching this fraud after getting the same call as others..

the same recording and the same [***], if kinda of amazing the last check I wrote was over 15 years ago... this is a complete violation of the law, and our privacy.

Received a fake call to my sister's cell phone about a debt collection
214-504-2986 it's a fake and bogus call don't give them any info. and do not send any money
when asked about the collection acct. # they said they couldn't give me that information
if it's your debt, you're entitled to the number and company or bank name so you can verify the information

This scam needs to be stopped. It is pure scare tactics that are completely false. I will be reporting the calls I've gotten.

You have until the end of the business day to call or you will be in court.

Call blocker is your best bet.    Don't pick up on numbers you don't recognize.

Also contact your local attorney general.

Don't return the calls.  Block their calls.  This is a total scam.  All you'll get from these people is abuse.  They like to pick on women, single mothers and the elderly and anyone else they think might be vulnerable.  Ignore them.

I get these calls about ever three weeks; usually on Friday. I can guarantee when I punch the answering machine that is the message I will see. They are calling for my mom who used to have this number, threatening legal action due to check fraud. At first it worried me but I decided to Google the number (214-504-2986) and found this blog. Cannot wait for them to call back so I can mess with them. Think I will leave out the part that she died over a year ago.

How do you get on the do not call list this phone # just called some family members and my boss today and I tryed to call the number back and the company dont identify it self and there is music and but no one answered which I thought was weired.

I got a call today about a check fraud issue and to call by the end of business today.  Its total fraud.  Do not call it back, I did not.
