The number is for a company in Cleveland, OH called Human Arc, Inc (also HumanArc). From what I can determine, it is a healthcare collections agency.

Holly is right, these people are trying to help you get money and free services.  This Human Arc company specializes in helping people get eligibility for a variety of social services, ranging from food stamps to Social Security Disability (SSI) and Medicare coverage.  I was called by them because I have a 27 year old daughter who had a liver transplant 5 years ago, and my health insurance company has recently contracted with Human Arc to help her (and their other catastrophically ill patients) get SSI and possibly Medicare eventually.  A few years back, she was not able to get SSI benefits on her own, so it will be interesting to see if these Human Arc people can actually make that happen for her.  Before the economy got so bad, my daughter was able to find work; now, she is unemployed and really needs the help!    www.humanarc.com

I receive calls from this number on my cell phone SEVERAL times a day. I answered it once and they claimed they were trying to help me qualify to get some of my medical bills waived, and that they would send me a letter to fill out and return. I never received any letter from them, nothing but all of these calls, one right after another.

1866-879-0988 i recieved a letter with this number from human arc best benefits program and claim to help me get ssi but it looks like they copied the anthem and hoosier healthwise labels an put a letter together. I dont think its a scam persay but i do think its a pyramid company that claim more than they can do and end up with personal info. Why would i use a company in ohio to get Indiana benefits?! Okay it does seem like a scam. I would beg anyone to look into this before calling or talking with them if they call you

This is a company contracted with molina to help low income family get the ball rolling for SSI. I got a letter and called molina from my sons insurance card to see if the letter was a scam. it is NOT a scam. it has almost been 2 years since my son was diag with austim, which molina of washington forward his name to Human arc to inform us he might get ssi. we are in process now.

Human Arc, a leader in reimbursement and revenue enhancement services for hospitals and health plans, positively impacted the lives of 1,276,300 people in need in 2013. This is 20 percent over its target for that year and 41% beyond its 2012 results. The organization’s recently published 2013 Lives Impacted Report details this achievement.

“Making a difference” is an ideal that has guided the company for more than 30 years.

This I copied and pasted from their site.. They have 30 years experience, and is apparently doing well more than we thought. I called them back today, and knew they were legit because of the information they already had on file. I have a phone interview with someone  tuesday at noon. I'll leave another post after that describing it a little and what my next step is. Hope this helps.. Upon my research, I saw them as a legit business... And the services they provide are at no cost to me... :)

They are a scam.  They called about my minor child and they wanted extremely personal information about him including his social security number.  I calmly refused to give them this information and hung up.

As long as you are insured by Health Partners, there is NO CHARGE. However, if you no longer are insured by HP---there is a percentage they take from your SSI benefits. This is not sitting well with me for some reason!

If you don't feel comfortable with their questions call your insurance provider before giving out information. That is what I did and indeed they are legit. I told the Human Arc representative that before I gave out any information that I would verify with my insurance company. I am awaiting a call from a case worker to get the ball rolling on SSI for my autistic son.
