They contacted me through the mail, I called them to apply but we hit a wall when I didn’t have my child Social Security number on hand.  The rep absolutely stated that my son’s insurance would pay human arcs fee, unless he switched insurance at which point human arc would take 25% of whatever SSI awarded him.  That is a direct quote, after which I was asked if I, “understand and agree” which sound like binding legal terms, and the call was being recorded. Anyway, we have a callback scheduled for this morning. I don’t know what to do with all the discussion on this site, creating doubts about what I should do next.  I think I might postpone until I’m able to do some more research.  Has anyone actually succeeded in getting SSI payments with the help of human arc?

Perhaps you should contact SSI at a known phone number, such as the one on their official website.

Jeff writes " they started asking. VERY personal questions.  I reccommend everyone be EXTREMELY cautious!"  (Ten years ago)
'extremely cautious'... That is some fear preaching, my.man.  'cautious' of what?  They called me as well. You are incapable of authenticating agents, validating identities, thier employers and most importantly, safeguarding your identity in the process?
You're an idiot.  I can obtain and validate your "very personal" data faster than you can speak it.
Whe you are being "cautious" ponder this... That information... Is not yours.
I ran Human Arc thru the wringer. They have been callung me for three months.  I finally spoke with the case manager last night.  I grilled her for 3 hours " what can you dofor me that I have not already completed myself?"
She levelled with me, saying they usually come in at the beginning of the claim process, not the determinatiin phase... Then she gave me some inside jargon, which may get my stalled xlaim moving again.
I don't like people in my business... But when they are good, its free, and the people do this job because they are personally motivated to help others.  They dont work for Human Arc while looking for a better job, no... The come there FROM better jobs - to make a difference.

Human Arc helped me get approved for SSI.  I received a letter in the mail.  I called the 800 number, they took information for about an hour, then, I received a telephone interview three weeks later that took 1 1/2 hours.  Two months later, I was denied SSDI, but three weeks after, I received a call from Social Security telling me that I was approved for SSI.  My back pay amount was $3,500.00.  SSI was very much needed -- I was doing a 2-person cleaning job which was causing me much pain.  Human Arc is not a scam.

Thanks for confirming that this outfit is a scam and that you are part of it.  Not one word of what you posted is believable.

Why did you wait 3 months to look up a known phone number?

How much did you have to pay human Arc?

Perhaps you should ask them how much they charge instead of a random poster on a phone number look-up site.

They tend to be referred or recommended to call or contact you via your insurance (especially if its medicaid or medicare) they help people with mh disabilities. Like I'm autistic and on medicaid, thats why they called me. They're an advocacy group.

Before them I got denied ssi a few times. Didnt work enough to get ssdi. I never could afford a lawyer so that wasnt going to happen, I gave up. But I'm on Anthem through medicaid and my case worker warned me id be getting a call from a new company they work with and it was them. It took a few months but it wasnt much extra work. Just kept up contact with them like I did with my social security case worker during the application process. They got a small chunk of my backpay.

If in doubt ask them where they got your info and if you still dont know, ask your insurance company. Its likely tied to you through there.

Human arc did not help me as they said they would. My daughter has been denied twice for ssi. She has autism and learning disabilities.  Now human arc wants money for "helping" even though my daughter was denied. The paper I signed stated that they would only get paid if and when my daughter was approved for SSI.  Please do not waste your time with these people. Call a lawyer.
