- SaraNo, they are not a collection agency, they are scammers. I even called them back once and they refused to tell me what they wanted, then hang up. To begin with, I don't owe money to anyone, so I shouldn't be receiving these calls. Next, I know that bill collectors ID themselves as such, plus they put the info about non-payment in a person's credit report. Nobody has done so in mine, so nobody is claiming any money from me. The Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of my state said that this number belongs to scammers and bad ones at that. Just report them and they'll close them down.
P.S. Don't identify yourselves as Sheriff's Department as one of the posters suggested. It may scare the scammers, but it's also illegal, it's impersonating a police officer, so you'll wind up in jail yourselves!! - joeI rec a phone call-called back said they were not debt collector got really smart and hung up-I called back and woman answered told her she had called me over and over and I was tired and would report them-she hung up- I called right back some guy answered said they were RPM-told him to never dial my # again or I would report to fcc- he said don't call and threaten me and hung up-I called back and told it was not a threat- he said apparently they had the wrong #- I said so you have been calling the wrong # off and on for the last 1 years-he says maybe the # keeps getting recycled-I told him I was reporting them.
Everyone that gets these calls needs to report them to the phone company, and the FCC. Call them back and let them see what it is like to get annoying phone calls at all hours-I go one at 6:15 on Sunday afternoon! Don't let up!- Caller: rpm
- joesome guy said his name was Rick-said he had removed my name from their database-call them every few minutes so their line is tied up or they remove you from their data base- I have nothing else to do for the next hour or so---put it on speed dial-maybe they will realize how annoying they are. call call call call.

- hardthe banksters gangsters. they are all guilty of fraud, because no bank or finance company had/has any money to loan --they are prhibited from loaning other depositors deposits and their (the banksters) assets--- in the first place, and they make 500% return on money that you created with your signature. be careful with your pen!!!!!! its no wonder that they(the banksters) are so willing to act like they are loaning you something, when they haven't got one red cent at risk. WAKE UP AMERICANS to the biggest fraud in the history of the planet!!!!!!!!

- BarbI keep getting these calls too! I told them to email me the info and there was never an email received and they havent stopped calling! In fact one of the last times I picked up a call from this number I said "you know, I told whoever called me last to email me the info" and the caller says "what's his name?" first off very unprofessional, he should have said "I'm sorry, do you know who you spoke with?" and secondly he could have said "i'm sorry" then repeated my email address (if it's a real company they would have a system for that) and ended the call.

- Frustrated RecipientI'm guessing a debt collector, wouldn't give me any information and when I asked who they represented they hung up.

- NecieI have only a cell phone and they seem to feel they can call when they want. I have repeatedly asked them not to call during business hours because I can't receive personal calks-only emergency calls at work. They continue to call every morning.

- JaycorI am getting collection calls from this number also. They are rude and unprofessional. They are not the original creditor...they are at least 5 levels passed down to the worst of the worst debt collectors.

- Dan replies to Tax examinerI have that exact same problem. Different debt collection agency's have been trying to contact my cell phone ever since I got the number. When I call my house phone the caller ID say's "Alanis Eric". I don't even know the guy, but apparently he had the number before me. I've contacted AT+T many times to solve the problem. I do what they say, but each time they say it's been fixed a week later I call my house and it's still Alanis Eric.
- Against the 231-337-2146 number!I am now on my own personal mission contacting the FTC against the large number of phone calls received daily at all times of the day anywhere from 7am to 10pm EST. I have no business with this company, can't reach them when calling back, and whether it's a female or male, I'm always just provided with the word McBain, with anyone I might stay on the line to speak to. I never get a person right away, it's always a recording first asking to hold for an important message, from someone extremely RUDE on the other line. Good luck all!

- Old debtThe number showed up on my caller ID again so I called them back. The man that answered the phone was polite, spoke fast so I didn't understand his name or the company name. But he said the reason they were calling was to collect on a debt. He referenced a legitimate debt I had from 15 years ago that was written off and hasn't been on my credit report for 6 years. So I did what any self respecting American would do, I told him I didn't have a debt with that company and he said "ok, sorry to bother you, have a nice day."
They may be a legit company trying to collect on old debts that are long forgotten. Callers may be paid commission, hence the large number of phone calls.- Caller: unknown

- tturbod2001 replies to Michael SamuelsI got a call today and thought it to be suspicious. I like your Post and a few others. I answered the phone not recognizing the # 231 337 2146, at first there was a pause, then someone asked for a certain person. When asked who was calling,They insisted to speak to that person. I told them that they got a wrong #.
- Jesse| 1 replyI keep getting calls from this number 1-231-337-2146 they say they are looking for Cindy Day. I talked to someone last night and told them this must have been Cindys old cell number and I do not know her and was told I'd be taken off the call list. Just got another call looking for the same person. I told the ladie I talked to some one and was told I would not be called again. Also I regestered with the Federal Do not Call list. The B.t,h told me they did not pretain to the do not call list. So I got really rude and told her my phone is a prepaid phone that I pay for and she better not call again or I would file a complaint. Was told to file cos it would not do any good then the B,t,h hung up on my. Let's see if they call back
- Jesse replies to JesseI have filed a complaint with the FTC
