I have received numerous calls from this firm on my cell phone and I have never given them permission to call my cell phone. They claimed it was an energy group survey. I am an attorney and I cannot believe they are doing this. I am looking into a TCPA claim against them.

10/14: Caller goes on long description on how they're calling on behalf of Nevada State Bank for a survey about customer satisfaction (we don't bank with them).  Ask them how long the survey will take, '10-20 minutes'.  I explain that this is a business and that we don't have time to waste by answering their survey and to please not call again.

10/16 9:43AM PST: Different call center rep gives same description of their survey call.  After asking if I'm over 18, I reply that I have asked them to not call previously and to please do not call again.  Caller states that because they are a non-profit, the do-not-call list does not apply to them.  I tell caller than I am aware that the government DNC list may not apply to them but that I wanted to be put on -their- DNC list.  Caller tells me that their survey is important and my cooperation would be appreciated.  I again reiterate that I am not interested in wasting time on their survey, that our time is also important, and we would like for them to not call us again.  Caller disconnects.

10/19 11:06AM PST: Different call center rep again, still reporting to be conducting a survey on behalf of Nevada State Bank.  Told them we still are not interested in participating in their survey.  Caller states that our opinions are important.  Reiterated that we do not want to take the survey.  Caller states that they are not bound by the DNC list.  Stated that I understand this and that it doesn't matter because we do not want to participate in their survey.  Caller disconnects.

These guys are obviously following a script then not doing anything after receiving a request to not call / be removed from the survey.

Their BBB page (of course they're not accredited) has three complaints right now, all with responses from the business saying that if you request to be removed from their survey group that it will be honored within 72 hours.  Obviously this is also untrue as we're still getting calls at our office even though we first requested to be removed on the 14th.  I'd recommend that anyone continuing to receive calls from Thoroughbred Research file a complaint with the BBB since at the very least someone in management is paying attention to complaints made there.

Another site says they are "Thoroughbred Research, Thoroughbred Research Group/ Medicaid survey" Since I don't know who they are I didn't answer the phone.

Get multiple calls daily - they leave no message.  Only time I spoke to whoever it is, as soon as I said "Who are you?" they hung up.  Having never received a survey, there is nothing to respond to, and therefor no reason for anyone to do any "follow up" calling. Looked them up on google and they are some research place -Thoroughbred Research - but could find nothing else about them.  Will continue to not answer.  Suggest all of you do the same.

I laughed reading who they told you they were. I just got a call from 541-430-3939 saying they are Pesticide Researchers. They are cold callers that are out bound calls only, you can not call them back.

Scammer Phishing for information

We receive multiple calls a day from this number.  We never pick up, and are registered with the do not call registry and yet we still get calls.

Just one of many annoying telemarketer calls that seem to pop-up during the holidays. They call so many times at random hours of the day and finally picked up the phone when they called a 9:00 pm just to see who it was. A company called THROUGHBRED RESEARCH conducting energy survey of some sorts-(DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION). I was already pissed off calling me at 9 pm, but knew it was some college kid who was just trying to make extra money for the holidays. I just simply said not interested in the survey and appreciate the call, and told them not to call me anymore, but I know they will still call and will not pick up again.

Eleanor...... Just because some of these "legitimate" research firms have the legal right to call you, that does NOT mean we want them to. Furthermore, the bill for our home phones is paid by the person who owns it, not your "legitimate" research firms, so that said......it seems to make sense that if we don't want to hear from them we shouldn't have to! Unless or course you're willing to pay all of our phone bills. Get a clue Eleanor.

Obviously you work in this annoying industry. If they call repeatedly and no one answers, guess what? NOT INTERESTED!!! You all would not get "lumped" together if you all did not all deserve to be. And if you are all legitimate then why do you all hang up when an answering machine picks up? Very unprofessional "lumpiness" But to hear you tell it no one should be annoyed by them. Good grief.
