- dizzymonkeyI got a call from this number this afternoon, but it wasn't a recording. It was a man with an (Indian?) accent asking for my husband, and he wasn't very polite. He simply repeated his request to talk with my husband when I asked him who was calling, and asked when he could call back. My husband is a physician - don't know if there is a connection there with blood donation, relatives in the hospital, etc. mentioned by previous posters.
- KateI got the male voice call. It was weird because it sounded like that psychic guy that is on tv all of the time. Gave me the creeps. Oh yeah, I live in Houston area.
- One More8/12, 2:30 p.m. Housotn area (713), husband donates blood occasionally, Comcast internet, but not phone... VERY ODD timing. I hope it is God.
- curious georgeI recieved that same call today at 10 am by a male voice saying: "I wanted you to know how important and appreciated you are. For some reason, I knew that you needed to hear this right now. Thanks and have a great day." I tried calling it back and even looked it up and found this but the number seemed to be disconnected...kind of scary definitely creepy...I live in the Houston area and this was the first time its happened to me
- Houston Girl2I just received one of these "you are appreciated calls", too. I haven't had anything bad happen lately - in fact I just got back from a nice vacation - so hopefully it's not an omen! It's nice to be appreciated out of the blue but in this day and age I can't help but be skeptical although for the life of me I can't figure out any way this could be a scam!
- Eli replies to tpthouI rc'd the call today August 13th at 9:45 am. Male's voice:
"Hello, my apologies for the message, but it was urgent that I called as soon as possible, I would like to let you know how important and appreciated you are to me and others, for some reason I know you needed to hear this right now, thanks and have a great day, Bye."
I think it's nice to hear kind words and yes, going through a rough time and live in Houston, TX. I have not donated blood as a chicken when it comes to needles. It's just nice to hear nonetheless and pray that it's a message to inspire and not think of negative way.
Bless to all. - ccs1960I received the same message at 1:21 this afternoon. Mail voice. I do not use Comcast, and I have not given blood. I do live in Houston and I have been going through a tough time. Who knows?
- Caller: Don't Know
- BDA male so far has called twice telling my wife that we owe $15000 on a credit card. The collection company is going to sue us unless we try to settle the matter at negotiated amount. Wath out. There are crooks out there. Apparently, he has last 4 digits of SSN. Tells his name as Steven. He gave the address as: P.O. BOX 628, Buffalo, NY 15711-94. Did not identify the company he was calling for.
- Call type: Debt collector
- brandeeGot that call today,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the main point here seems to be that it is happening in Houston?????????????why
- Ransame thing 247 478 6277. weird! Houston, Tx.
- HappypolecatReceived call approx 1:39pm in Houston, TX. Male voice. Left message on voice mail. Same as other calls.
- megerber replies to AmyI am in Houston, don't use Comcast and just got the message
- Fin-GrizI am in the Houston area, as well, and I received the exact same call as Eli (8/13/08), only I recieved it last week. I didn't answer the call, but the message was left on my voice mail. It's so strange, but I really did need to hear that. I choose to believe that it was God working in His mysterious way to uplift my spirits! It worked! Be blessed!!!
- MaxLeft a weird message saying I was loved????
- CT replies to CherylI just got the same message but have not given blood in years!
- GodPrankCallsMeTooI'd like to think that God has the capability of touching those who need it without creeping them out or making them worried and paranoid. And that he wouldn't choose spamming the telephone lines with generic messages to do so. Pretty sure he wouldn't call from Wisconsin either...though even God must get a hankering for some cheese, I suppose. If you really think God is calling you on your phone, do you think doing a google search is going to verify that? "Googling for God!" Man, that's sad stuff.
- Caller: unknown
- GodPrankCallsMeToo| 1 replyBrandee-Apparently those of us in Houston are so divine that God calls us directly on our home phones. Or some terrible incident is about to wipe out Houston and we're the lucky folks getting a heads up.
Max-Is it that weird to get a message saying you're loved? Doesn't your mama call at least?
ALL-Sounds like somebody got a hold of many people's information in the Houston area, so there is some link there. Identity theft isn't a gift from God. Why the weirdo calls? No clue. But "Hi, I'm Chucky! Wanna play?" is a pretty friendly message too, but FAR from innocent. Don't answer calls you don't know. Let a machine or voicemail (that offers NO PERSONAL INFORMATION about you) get them. I heart Jeebus too folks & appreciate your unfailing optimistic faith and all that jazz...but Jeebus aint collecting on credit card debts or offering portions of social security numbers or calling from numbers that spell out "Christmass" or anything else.
I call on God and all he sends is a lousy automated message? Sounds like a bad tshirt slogan or bumper sticker. - ChristineHouston replies to houston_momI received exactly the same message last Friday, August 22,2008, and I was stunned. The operator told me that 247 is not an area code, it is a country code. I looked it up and it is the country code for the Island of Ascension, in the South Atlantic. My friends told me that this was God calling. I believe they are right! Whenever I pray, good things happen to me, and God knows I need his help. He always comes through for me. So all of you who received this or similar message, you are blessed!
- not a rube replies to GodPrankCallsMeTooNo wonder con artists thrive so easily these days. It's disappointing to see how many people believe this call is related to something they did. You call enough phone numbers and you're bound to hook someone. The people behind these calls are counting on the fact that some of you believe that there are those who would call and thank you out of the goodness of their heart. They'll call back wanting something eventually. Don't be a sucker.
- houstonI got this call when I was a very low point in my life, really upset about a very serious health problem and a state of my finances.Just as I set down to meditate in order to calm down, the phone rang. I usually don't pick up if I don't know the number, even more importantly, never get up during meditation, but something told me to get up and pick up the phone.
The mail voice recording said that I really need to hear now that He needs me and many other people need me. I was asking God to guidance and it was His answer. I am still in amazement and do believe that God sends messages in misterious way, but exactly when we need them, and He loves us all as his children.
God bless all of you
