Standard credit card interest rate scam. They always claim it's the "second and final" time they'll call with this phony offer, but they keep calling.

They call at least once a week, them and other unknown numbers. I just stopped answering them and they leave no message. It's just aggravating!

Just another one of the spoofed numbers being used by the "card services" scammers. Google my name to learn how to eliminate their annoying calls, while also having some fun!

I just got a call from this number also. He offered to lower my interest rate on my BMO Mastercard (how did they know I had such a card?). But i refused to give him my card number. He got rude. I called  BMO to complain and they laughed it off (literally, the BMO call centre call laughed) and said it was a fraud. I filed a complaint. Although, I doubt the bank will do anything about this.

BMO is at fault here also. I'm sure they know about these frauds but are not serious about shutting them down. I'm not using my BMO Mcard until BMO addresses this issue.

Called this afternoon... Southern Ontario. No message left.

The "card services" scammers are just guessing that people MIGHT have one of the major credit cards.They also claim an association with visa, mastercard, amx etc. Once they get a person's confidence the next step is to get their credit card number.Once this happens that gullible individual will notice hundreds, if not thousands of dollars charged to it on their next statement. Their targets are mainly the elderly and the gullible. Spread the word of this scam so others are not cheated. I would guess the credit card company you complained to thought it was humorous because the scam has been going on so long, and they have heard about it so many times. You're lucky this is the first time you've been bothered, as this scam has been going on down here in the U.S.(where most of these scams originate) for years.

The caller is actually in Africa....Somalia I think, and they seem to think we North Americans are really dumb.

One thing....if you receive any calls, DO NOT PRESS 1 on your keypad on the phone as they can use that to take control of your phone and make THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF CALLS to other places, and the calls will show as if you are making them. I'm not saying this caller can do this, but keep it in mind for other spam callers.

Quick note to all of you. DO NOT PRESS ANY KEYS on your phone as some of those, especially 1 allows them to take control of your phone.

Many of the new cordless phones in the store allow you to block from 30 to 100 phone numbers, so if you block them, they get a busy signal. I have a Panasonic Cordless phone I got at Best Buy. I love it!!

In the past three weeks I have received at least ten times bogus calls about credit cards. I always hang up rapidly. Today I could not answer a long distanced phone called. I later found the number listed on my equipment: 250-427-2494.

I just got a phone call from 1-250-427-2494 and only two rings and hangs up.   This is very annoying and they leave no message either.   I do believe it may be a telemarketer or a scammer.   Haven't they got anything better to do with their time besides bothering people for no reason at all.   They also check to see if anybody is home and possibly are looking for places to break 'n enter.   I want this call to stop immediately!!!

Received a call from this number l5 minutes ago in B.C.   Did not pickup Unknown call and there was no message left.  There seems to be more and more scammers every day.  Do not give in to them.......

When you see the number just pick up and say hold please (ever so politely) and lay the phone done (beside a radio) Hip Hop music works well or some bible songs, they all work well. When you hear the beep beep that says they have hung up you hang up. It does not matter if it"s a computer or a person on the other end.......................THEY will hang up

Wasting their time does work the best, for 2 reasons. First, they will soon learn it is useless to call your number,and it will be removed from their robodialer list.Second, the more of their time that is taken up that's less people they will be able to cheat. Google my name to see the method I used to eliminate all of the "card services" scammers annoying calls.

I live in Ontario - they called me first at home,then minutes later at work!!!!!

They called on Feb. 16, at 6:05Pm. Unknown number. Did not pick up...left no message.

Googled the number...would be coming from B.C. ....

Don't believe what your caller id says. The " card services " scammers use all spoofed (false) numbers. They hide their identity, and try to get your credit card number, by pretending to have an association with any and all of the credit card companies. Once they succeed in getting that number you will notice hundreds, if not thousands of dollars charged to it on your next statement!  BEWARE, and warn others.
