Got a call from a lady with a thick accent.  She said she was from windows and they were getting error messages from my computer and it was running very badly. I told her no it wasn't. She said how did I know was I a technician.  I said no I was that one who used it and knew if it was running bad. She told me I couldn't talk to her like that. I told her I could and hung up. I will now be blocking that number.

253-802-0308 called today this morning. Foreigner with accent wanted to know how many computers and laptops we owned. I told him he would be reported to DONOTCALL.GOV and hung up. Immediately filed a complaint.

getting calls from 253-802-0308 - nobody answers ...will no lift the phone again if they call.

11:10 a.m., received a call from 253-802-0308. Female voice, quite heavy accent, claiming that this call is about my computer, which has been sending error messages to their server at IT, in New York. Wouldn't stop to listen - kept rambling about servers and computers. Told her there's no way in H she knows anything about my computer so she should remove MY phone number from their list. She hung up.

Received a call from Peter..Male with an Indian accent.   Peter wants you to turn your computer on so he can fix error messages generated by Windows 7.    I told Peter I would be happy to turn my computer to file a report with the FCC so by all means keep calling me back.

This person has called me several times doing the same things telling me that my computer has a virus and needs to be worked on..The first call I talk to him and told him I had my own repair man and he just keeps calling me back. Since his first call after I asked him not to call again since then he has called and just keeps on and on. I have been letting my answering machine get his calls. Also, the first time he told me he was with Microsoft. I knew better Microsoft isn't going to call people up about a virus. I have a good antivirus on all my computers. I think he is trying to get in our computers to steal our info.

Called today.  I blocked them.

This is February 16th.....2013 !  I can not believe how long these people have been doing this without getting caught.  I do not answer this number but today I was Pi$$ed, so I did answer but no one said a word.   I just hung up and came to trace the phone number.  The amount of people who have been called by this Bogus crap is amazing!!!!   I can not believe nothing can be done about it......someone some place knows how to take them down.....RIGHT?????????

Got a call from this number yesterday. When he started telling me my computer was infected with spyware and I had to follow his instructions, I started screaming, "OMG, Really, Thank you, thank you, thank you for telling me. I will contact my computer tech immediately!"  Over and over until he hung up. No call backs so far.

Called at 8:00 this morning.  GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!   FTC can't keep up with the deceptive equipment and procedures of these fraudsters.  They have a contest going w/$50,000 prize for ideas that are effective in catching these a--holes!  Any and all ideas are welcome!  All you 10- or 15-yr old geniuses out there PLEASE!  Here's your college and million dollar tech business start-up seed money!

Just got a call from this number, man with heavy accent trying to tell me his name was Mark Hamill (as if!) from Microsoft and that my computer had been hacked.  Not believing him I told him to call back as I was busy.  Just won't answer next time.

My call came from 011-253-753-9034, didn't answer it but got to wonder what it was all about and googled it. Found out it was from Djibouti,  Anyone else got calls from this number?

I received a call from this number yesterday morning from an East Indian man in a very noice room.  He said that he was from Microsoft and had gotten reports from my computer that it was so infested with viruses that it was about crash.  They were calling to help me fix the problem and started to instruct me on what steps to take.  When it came to me logging onto www.showmypc.com, that's when I told them I was suspicious and could they call back later after I had checked into them.  I searched the phone number and am so glad I didn't go further.  I called the number, where I received a busy signal.

This number kept calling me and I finally answer and it was a man with an accent and he was listing off a whole bunch of my information such as email address, user names, my boyfriends address. He then told me I have something going on in my computer and I needed to go turn it on and I told him I don't have one and he asked if I was poor? And proceeded to call me a liar and cursing at me telling me to turn on my computer right away. After getting frustrated with me he told me to f**k off an hung up. He then called me back ten minutes later from the same number (253) 802-0308
Auburn, WA. I just called my phone provider and blocked the number. Good luck everyone. Hopefully if we don't comply with these people it will be harmless. Definitely scammers who need real jobs!

Wishful thinking, friend. DNC lists work against legitimate companies and organizations that don't want their reputations tarnished and profit-margins reduced by being caught violating telecom laws like those concerning DNC lists. The calls that we're getting from this number are not from such an organization, but are from a nefarious group seeking to gain access (1) to your credit card information and (2) to your computer, remotely. The DNC list does not and will not keep them from calling.

That said, folks really should add their numbers to their country's DNC list to prevent unwanted calls from legitimate groups that still use the phone.

According to Canadian Anti-fraud, the calls are coming from India but the numbers they use are spoofed so when you trace them, they appear to be from Seattle. They're a well-organized, well-known scam outfit, seeking credit card info and remote access to victims computers. So, no, not just one lower with too much time on hand.

Shockingly, the anti-fraud guys have only received 350 complaints about them since 2010. So, all of you posting here, contact them and report, report, report. Nothing will be done because we complain here, only if a significant number complain through official channels. Please contact the relevant authorities in your area. It's not just about reporting nuisance calls but about preventing less scam-savvy people being scammed.
