Got a call today at 7:16. Didn't answer. Thanks for this web site!!

Answered call, heard lot of noise in the background.  Person calling wanted to talk to head of house.  Asked who was calling, he said something about the police.  Then he hung up.

I got the same phone call on March 8 2007 at 1:42 PM.  Caller ID says Police Protection.  I "Googled" the number and found it belonged to John Farrell in Potomac, MD.

Call hang-up. I returned the call and it was the Police Protective Fund - 6605 Hollywood Blvd #224, Los Angeles CA 90028; 888-476-1042. As an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit they are exempt from the no-call list. Their director and CEO, Phil LeConte, receives $112,652 (2005) in wages; their CFO made $63,052 in 2005 - all salaries do not include bonus and other incentives. In all, 2005 salaries totalled over US $2.01M in 2005 to staff and consultants.

They just called me and hanged up. caller id was Police protection too.

I did not answer the call but decided to research it and then I found this website and that eased my concern about the nature of the call.

Answered but they hung up.

This ID shows up every week or so for last couple months.  I'm on the Eastern Shore in Salisbury, MD.   Thanks for the website.  Good to know about the scam.

Called at 7:30 pm, 26th March, 2007. Naturally, I did not answer.

This "police protective fund" called my home 7:31 pm March 29, 2007, i did not answer.  I am on DO NOT call list.  Obviously a SCAM.

Just received a call from Police Protecti, did not answer it, my answering machine picked up and they immediately hung up.

Rec'd the call about 630 pm, hung up when I answered, caller ID gave me this number which got me to this site, I called them and got the message referenced, asking for my name and mumber.  Didnt leave it

Just got called at 4/2/2007 on 7:30 PM. Didn't pick up because I didn't recognize the number or name. Good thing I didn't! Great resource!

This outfit is a "fund raiser" for the Police -- but in fact is a scam.  They raised $2.1 million in 2001, but only donated $20K to a police department -- the other $2,080,000 went to salaries.

Received a call today around 2:35.  My answering machine picked up before me, but when I picked up the call personally, they hung up on me.

Hung up when answer machine picked up.

Wasnt home,but it was on caller ID 301-762-6650  will definitely not answer next time they call
