Missed the call and saw Illonis number.  I called it back and got the "Department of Defense mailbox full" message. Don't know their game yet.

I was prior military, I got the same call!  SUNDAY of all days they would call?  Definitely a scam.  I think I am going to report it to everyone I know.  Make sure you do the same.  They even called my hubsand's phone looking for me.  Who are these people?

I got the same call more than once over the last week.  My husband left the military 5 years ago. But the one thing that I find very interesting is that I did call DEERS within the last 2 weeks.I called because when I went to fill a prescription the pharmacy billed it at first to TriCare. So I wanted to find out why we were still active on TriCare and it was a mistake at DEERS. They hadn't shown my husband seperating 5 years ago. Maybe TriCare, DEERS or Target pharmacy has been hacked and that is how these dirt bags have gotten the telephone #'s.

I got a call from this number today, I was out of the house and they left no message. My husband is deployed and it is quite irritating to have to figure out what calls are real and what ones are not. Shame on those people who are targeting already stressed families. Leave us alone!

called, left no message, caller ID stated DoD

informed wife to never accept calls from people claiming to be from DoD and asking for me by rank.

DoD does not work that way, they go through your command, never personal numbers

report this number if you get a call from it IT IS A SCAM!!

Wow, I am glad I am not the only one. I received this call today and didn't get a chance to answer it. I was nervous when I saw the number on my caller ID since my husband is in California. I am wondering what I can do about this? It is quite irritating and certainly worrisome.

My in laws received the same call while I was at there house. It was very concerning since my husband is in California right now. I truly don't appreciate this sick joke. Were dealing with military families and calls like that are not funny, or whatever this caller feels they are. I am not sure what we can do to prevent or atleast decrease these calls but I want to know something. These calls seem to have been going on for a few  months. I would also like to know how our numbers are slipping through people's hands.

I just got out of the navy a month ago and recieved a call from this number. I was busy and was unable to answer the phone, i called back and
reached a voice mailbox for DoD....its up in IL. Alot of records are held up there in chicago for the navy and ALOT of SSN#'s so if you are in the same situation i suggest watching your accounts and other personal info very closely!

Today 08AU08 at 0917 I recieved a call from this number 312-409-470 like all of you.  Mail box is still full, still claims to be the DoD.  I noticed that we are either military or prior.  Do any of you have claims with the VA?  I am wondering if our numbers were stolen or have anything to do with the VA computer/laptop/database theft?

I received a call from the 312-409-4705 number today on my cell phone. I didn't answer it, they didn't leave a voicemail. I called the number back and it just went to voicemail and states they are "Department of Defense" - yes we are a military family...but I have also worked for the Department of Defense and this is NOT what you would leave on a voicemail...
They would state their name and what department they are with within DoD...

So if you get a call from this #, I don't suggest doing anything that might involve any kind of personal information!

I received a call from 312-409-4702. The voicemail states this is a healthcare survey and they are sorry they missed us. My husband is receiving medical treatment so this may be legitimate.

Yeah i just got a phone call about 2 days ago missed the call and called back and got department of defense.... I am medically retired so i dont even know why they would still call me? Except to maybe reinstate me back for a medical exam or something even thats unlikely as i am 100% disabled from VA.

A couple of minutes ago I got a call on my Cell Phone from this number.

    312-409-4702

Just like all of the other posts here I am military and have a record with the VA.  As I went to answer it it disconnected.  Like the other posts here I called back and it said "Mail Box Full - Department of Defense."

I immediately became suspicious and since I was already on my computer decided to Google this number.

I also noticed it was a Chicago area code.  No Major DOD HQ is in the Chicago area and if it was someone's issued govt cell phone they would have their name on the mailbox for messaging purposes.

The phone call from (312) 409-4702 is a scam.  The following is provided from the D.C. Military Community and TRICARE Management Office

The TRICARE Management Agency, and Naval Health Clinic have both looked into this matter and their warning is as follows:

A company called Indoscope Records from Chicago, has been soliciting TRICARE beneficiaries to respond to a survey identified as a TRICARE survey. The Naval Health Clinic cautions recipients about responding to this survey and specifically recommends against revealing any personal information.

The TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) has confirmed that this is not an official TRICARE survey; but an attempt to obtain patient information.

There is a valid TMA survey in progress concerning various health issues. This survey is legitimate and important for future healthcare planning activities. The genuine TMA survey already has beneficiary account information and will NOT ask responders for any additional personal information.

Patients are cautioned not to reveal personal information for any TRICARE survey. If contacted by Indoscope Records, patients are asked to immediately contact the TRICARE service center, their chain of command and the police department.

Just got a call last night from312-409-4702.  I was unable to answer it because I was in class at the time.  I thought it was odd that they would call at 20:09 and it was even stranger that the unknown DoD mailbox was full and had no name attached to it.  My husband suggested I Google it and I'm glad I did.  My husband is retired military but I have applied for government positions in the Chicago area, so that didn't make any bells go off with me.  Thanks for all the heads up.

Same as all the others, this number showed up on phone and when husband answered there was no one there, husband is military, I am a disabled veteran and also a DoD employee so of course if I see a number related to the government it is of concern, husband called back and voice mail was full and said it was a Department of Defense mailbox, googled the number and here I see all these comments, thanks for taking the time to post and reminding people NOT to give out personal information over the phone!
