- John of Lower MerionLive Survey call from DVRPC (312) 529-9717 Caller ID: Chicago IL
Survey research project for Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) my wife agreed to do in December 2012 (filling in survey forms about her train commute to/from Philadelphia and mailing them back) but we never completed them. The woman asked if they could send us blank forms if we could complete the survey but it was so many months ago my wife would never remember the details of her daily work commute from December, so I politely refused. I'm surprised that they called after so many months.- Caller: on behalf of Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission

- BellHave received three calls from this number on my cell phone. I thought I was on the do not call list. The first call was at midnight..I did not answer. The second call was a day later in the afternoon. I answered this time and a guy launched into a speel about a survey. I stopped him and told him to stop calling me, to take me off his list...then said said thank you and hung up while he was rattling on. Again, at dinner time today I got a call again. I did not answer it....guess I am not off their list yet...ugh..so annoying. I just wish I knew how they got my cell phone number.
- You're_very_informative+thorough replies to Hope| 1 reply**NOTE / BEWARE: this is not helpful at all in regards to the phone number of convo. I intended to write a quick, concise comment about the telemarketer from this post, and out-of-nowhere, I kinda went off on a bit of a rant... Feel free to NOT read the following, as it serves no purpose or importance and will probably make you roll your eyes, at the very least. Sorry for being "that person." :-x
Just wanted to note how responsive and polite (or at least "not-rude") the telemarketer seemed to be during you're interaction. Seriously, I've been reading a lot of these today for this # as well as another forum from a different # (who called SEVEN times yesterday), and anyone who picked up and spoke with the "caller," pointed out how rude they were (i.e. hangs up when asked a question, lies about city, actually yells/argues with the person, etc). So, anyways, it was nice to see that this particular telemarketer was a decent, civil, "normal" human being! Especially bc she inagined herself in the reverse scenario, and responded as she would have wanted someone to! I mean, is that so hard? It's stupid that jobs exist like these in which the employees are NOT given any (or sufficient) information regarding their jobs purpose, but that wasn't her fault. (And this is aside the point of "we'll, should've gotten a diff job!" Etc.). I think a majority of ppl going into these kind of jobs already decided that they're going to deal with several unpleasant people - and therefore go into each call with a defensive and irritable mindset. And it's the same way for most ppl on the other end of the call as well. We're creating self-fulfilling proficies in sync with one another. Basically creating any such experience to be "unpleasant." (This is referring to the *majority* of the time. I realize that not everyone is so "innocent.")
Again, I had no intention of going off like a ranting psycho, and I know how annoying it can be! So I'm sorry!! I don't know why I posted it anyways, but I just did! :-/ Don't yell at me please!! - No Time for These Calls!Get calls from this place all the time. Has called 3 times in the past day. Last time I had my whistle ready and when I answered and they started talking, I just started blowing the whistle in their ear as loud as possible......they quickly hung up and so far no more calls...
- connie berryplease remove me from your call list

- NicoleI've had several calls from this number and finally answered. It is a health survey, or so he told me. I did the survey, took about a half hour. I was feeling generous. Some questions were pretty personal (zip code, age, race, etc.) at which I just said "no comment" and other questions were typical survey questions about health and fitness, eating/drinking habits, etc. It seemed pretty harmless to me. He even gave me a call back number if I had questions after the survey, at which I immediately called afterwards to see how legit it was. A real person answered and explained all about the survey and answered all the questions I asked him. He told me it is part of the CDC. He thanked me for taking the survey. Hopefully that number will stop calling now!!

- InterestedThis is the third time I got called and no one left a message. This time I answered the phone and kept the guy on while my hacker friends traced the call. He speaks really fast about medical and political info he wants me to confirm. It turns out the call is a Chicago number, he says it's New Jersey but actually our software indicated the call is redirected from 555 11th St NW, Washington, DC 20004 when I told him I traced the call and gave him his physical address, he stopped his survey laughed and we were suddenly disconnected. Don't know what to do now. Hope he stops calling.

When I answered that it wasn't a convenient time he said he would try again later before immediately hanging up.
