Thank you Mary.. they were calling me 2 times a day and hanging up when i finally answered.  I just re-subscribed to the Detroit News and I am going to call them and give them a piece of mind!
I called the number and hopefully I will be removed.

I am recieving calls from this very number. I quit my newspaper and I am very upset to hear they are selling my phone number.  They are not calling my home phone because I am registered with the Federal "Do Not Call" list.  I believe I must now register my cell phone. Thanks for the info.

The Mobile Register sold our numbers to this company.  I have also been getting calls everyday from this phone number.

yes this is the pisa group, it is a telemarketing database set up by newspapers to cal you and try to get a subscription.  when i spoke to the lady at phone number 1-636-940-2200 she said she didnt know why it was disconnecting uopn answering.  call this number and get yourself off the list!

Same problem here. Called 314-845-2825 and they removed me from their list. Didn't take long at all.

I too keep getting calls from Pisa.

I asked to get on the do not call list, she said she will call the center and have them put me on the do not call list.
I asked how they got my number, she asked if I am from Texas, I said yes, she said the dallas morning news.
Just thought I would share that info.
hopefully I will be on the do not call list now and will stop receiving these calls!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to figure out what is going on here.  My husband started getting calls on his cell phone yesterday.  This number is calling 6-8 times a day with no one on the other end.  I am guessing that the Birmingham News sold his number.  [***].

They've called at least 3 times in the past two days. Each time, they hang up as soon as you answer. My number is on the National Do Not Call List, so they shouldn't be calling. The caller id lists it as the PISA Group

Thank you so much, Mary!  I called the 314-845-2825 number and a very nice girl answered all my questions and took my cell number off the auto dial.

Also, the reason it only rings once and doesn't leave a message is because a computer is dialing your number and there aren't enough operators for all the numbers.

Simple enough- thank god for google and this website.

I'm guessing my culprit was the houston chronicle, never subscribing from them again. Also, I dont recall every releasing my privacy policy from them either...

i been getting call from thi pisa group and dont know why, i try to find out who are this peaple and every time they call they staid in the line a few seconds and then hung up. i am so mad about it,
i hope somebody will tell me what to do on these case.

Repeated calls like everyone else - never an answer or a message. Finally called back and it was busy. Looked up the info online and found sites with a CS number to call 314-845-2825. I asked them, and they said they are a newspaper marketing group, and so any local paper could have given them my info. Removed from call list, no problem.

I've been getting calls from this company & I'm in PA?!?!  It looks like thier newspapers don't have anything to do with the Eastern states so why call me?  I stumbled upon this site and I think it's wonderful that I now know I'm not the only one on the do not call list that is still getting annoying calls.

They called my cell phone at 5:45 AM, 9:32 AM, and 11:55 AM today already. They are getting to be very aggravating!

Got a call on my Google Grand Central number that I set up last week.  It is set to send all unknown calls to VM.  Thankfully I was able to find this page and tell Grand Central that the number was spam.  I just moved to Houston and I don't need a newspaper.

thank u so much icalled that number u gave and they took me off the list.  my husband was wondering y i was always getting these wierd phone calls but im glad its finally resolved.

They sell newspaper subscriptions - Houston Chronicle must have sold my number to them - I'll call the newspaper next...

They have the dialer ramped up too high...not enough bodies to answer the connects so the dialer hangs up on you.

phone rings and when my answering maching picks up the call the list has a busy tone.
