Thank you so much.  I have been getting calls everyday, multiple times a day and when I call the # back it picks up as a fax machine.

I called the number that was suggested below in these comments and spoke with a woman by the name of "Ashley."  She said that she would call the other office and ask that they remove from the list immediately.

Are you still getting calls from 314 963-8895?  I have been getting barraged on my cellphone from whoever this is  and when I call the number back is says something about a newspaper but I can't leave a message beause the mailbox is full and when I answer the call, no one is there.  this person calls three times a day for a week now and is using my minutes!  I don't want to change my cell number because that is how people contact me.  This is getting to be a nuisance and expensive as I am on a fixed income.  I dont know what to do! Someone please tell me.

***   ***   Lady at FCC said to goto www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html  click on telemarketing 1088 form, and fill it out, and choose Abandoned Calls at the bottome for type of call.  I am just about to do this, so I hope it goes well.  Said action will only be taken if enough people complain about the same number, but cannot not do anything just cause of me calling in.

I cant even get any one to pick up at this number or the automated system is full everytime I asked to be removed. Very frustrating.

Receiving daily calls by above number. No message is left. I do not answer as I do not know this number or person(s).  Would like them to stop.  Did internet phone # search and found the posts on this site concerning this phone number.

I've been getting calls from this number for several weeks. They would call & hang up. Last night I answered and spoke with somone. Wanted to give me a daily subscription for 52 weeks of my local paper (which I subscribed to about 8 weeks ago). I said I wasn't interested. He told me that there were no strings attached and there was no cost to me. I asked for a supervisor who told me the same thing - suggested that I give the daily paper to a friend or family memember. After I asked a few questions he said that they would pass the cost of the subscription on to the advertisers. I then reminded him that increased advertising cost come back to the consumers. Told him I was not interested. I also explained that I had been getting calls for weeks and wanted my number removed from their lists. He said it would be removed within 5 weeks. We'll see if that really happens.

I called 314-845-2825  and they removed my number form the list! High five! Hopefully it worked.

I was getting these calls too multiple times a day and when I did answer there would be no voice, just a click.  The ID just said NEWS so I called the number suggested here and got my name taken off their list.  They said they didn't get my number from anyone but rather take an exchange number like 350 and dial 0000, then 0001, etc.  I also registered my home and cell phone on the do not call list.  Thanks for the person that finally got the number to help me stop these nuisance calls!

Contact your wireless provider and submit your
complaint to them.  Also enter a complaint with the
Do Not Call Registry.

I have been getting calls from "NEWS" for a few weeks now,
and they call several times a day.  I am a below knee
amputee and trying to get to the phone is very irritating.
I have filed a formal complaint.  I have been on the National Do Not Call Registry for a long time now.  They're
inconsiderate jerks.  I live in MN, not TX.

This is a newspaper subscription place. Tell them you've never heard of a computer. It's awkward for them, and they hang up and never call back. It's a lot of fun actually.

I had 2 missed calls on my cell from these guys, google brought me here, called the # to be removed, so we'll see.  I don't see any posts here from people who asked to be removed and weren't, so I'm hoping I'm done with them.

FWIW - AZ Republic sold me out.

Also, I've been on the DNC list for a couple years, these guys don't check.

Dont answer the call, duh

#1: NO newspaper 'sold you out' - these slimers use auto-dialing machines, which simply dial sequentially, thus they also end up dialing cellphones.

#2: Pisa doesn't have ANY info on you when they call, except what you GIVE them - so then they know which 'local' paper to try to sell to you.  They then go to that newspaper and say, "Gee, look, we have potential subscribers for you!  How much is this list worth to you?"  It's ALL about the cha-ching, folks.

#3: The Federal online complaint form takes less than 3 minutes - I've already done mine (see the March 7th posting, above, for the link).  THE FILED COMPLAINTS ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT COUNT IN GETTING THIS NONSENSE STOPPED.  If you aren't going to take the time to file the complaint, give it up, and don't bother calling Pisa - these slimers'll just 'harvest' your phone number to sell to others.

#4: Take a look at Pisa's website, especially the contacts page.  All those call centers, all in/around St Louis, Missouri, and all those so-called 'managers' are twenty-somethings?  Excuse me, but when have you seen a LEGIT company where all the 'responsible, in-charge' people are UNDER 30?  Sounds like their entire staff was hired directly from one of those companies that try to sneak into businesses to sell sofa paintings door-to-door.  Like I said, slimers . . .

I have been getting the same calls..all hours of the day. Finally had some time on my hands to do a little research about it. So after reading all the posting, I have been calling the PISA Group at 314-961-6200 and hanging up, all day. You could tell the guy was mad after 4 or 5 calls...so now I'm laughing at him. No, it's not doing ay good, but I feel better. I would read the post posted on FEB 05, about NOT calling 314-845-2825 and giving them your name and number, as I'm not convinced the company is legit. https://www.donotcall.gov/ , Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org)

People claiming to call the other number to be "removed" from the calling list are either stupid or lying.

Stupid because they're bragging about the fact that they're being scammed.

Or they're lying to make others feel better about calling the company. High-five!

C Smith is right. Don't call them. Report these people to the FCC. What do you have to lose by reporting them? Worst case scenario, this is a legitimate company. Then they should have no problem explaining their actions to the FCC.
