This is true because when I log into my account online, I get a message as well stating a 'compromise' on the ATM/Debit card and I should be expecting a new card in the mail.  I am still going to call anyway just to confirm.

I went to BofA this morning to make a withdrawal of $1000. The branch manager instructed that I should do two separate withdrawals for $500 each. The first one was fine, but on the second one I got an error receipt saying that I couldn't withdraw that much. I went into the bank and they checked my card, entered some data and then instructed that I try again. It still wouldn't go through, so they ended up having me do a regular withdrawal. During this time frame, I received a text from 35422 saying it was BofA confirming that I authorized these withdrawal attempts, as well as my last debit card purchase from almost a week ago. It said to reply "yes" if I recognized the withdrawal attempts, "no" if I didn't or "stop" to end text alerts. I replied "yes". During this same time frame, I had a missed call from 315-724-4022. I don't know if it was BofA for sure, but if it's not, it would be uncanny timing

These scam maggots keep calling my number.  My wife answered my phone as I was busy.   Bank of America left a message saying something about our credit card/debit card may have a security issue.  We called a different legit BOA phone number to verify what the message said. The official at BOA said everything was fine and there was no security issue . The BOA official also said it was their number (315-724-4022) but someone not with BOA was fishing for information. Beware, it is scam!!!  Never give out any information or you will regret it.  I just blocked that number even though it is BOA.

That con low life scum is full of crap, that [***] link is a scam. BoFa uses ssl they would never use a banking site with just http it will always have encryption. Something like https://bofa.com, you guys come on. These idiots called me and actually thought I would give them my ssn and account numbers over the phone. No bank on earth would ever do that. These guys are not very bright and not very smart about how things work.

This was a legitimate call.  The call was to advise of a possible compromise of card information.  They send the person a new card and terminate the compromised card's information.

The day before I saw a transaction for $0.46 from a random place, so I contacted BOA and they told me to wait until the transaction has been completed. I told them I didn't make that transaction but they continue telling me to wait.
This morning, I felt like checking my account early morning and that transaction was still there, I had a bad feeling and an hour later I received a text saying: To continue using your card, please verify these 3 transactions. So I got alarmed and checked my account and found those 3 transactions were not done by me. So I contacted BOA and while they were taking my claim, I received a call from 315-724-4022 in Utica, NY. I couldn't answer because I was with BOA. No voicemail, but when I called back it was a machine saying that the call will be charge and if I want to accept, which I didn't, and hung up, so I decided to look for the number online and found all these claims.
Right now I am on the phone with BOA to report this call.
If they call me again I will follow the advise from FRAUD! Anonymous

This number has been calling me for the past several days, and with no message.  I just got off the phone today (6/6/15) and spoke w/ BoA, and this number is NOT legit.  The rep told me that BoA always will leave a message for you to return the call.  What is interesting here is that several days ago, did receive an email from BoA (confirmed to be legit) stating my debit card number was exposed to potentially fraudulent activity, and they were sending me a new debit card.  So hand-in-hand with the reason they are sending me a new card along with the scammers calling the house pretending to be BoA - the timeline is too much of a coincidence.

My goodness what a troll you are! It is not a fraud. It really is BofA. The number is the same as on the back of my check card. The number and the content of their voice mail match the emails that have been sent to me. The email address was confirmed. AND .... ta da .... all that information is the same when I log in to my BofA account online.  All they want me to know is that because of unusual activity AT A STORE WHERE I USED MY CARD, they are issuing me a new card to PREVENT fraudulent use of my card.  This has happened to me before with BofA.  They are VERY diligent, almost to the point of being annoying, but they do everything they can to make sure they stop fraudulent use as quickly as possible.

If you say it is not a scam, you are an idiot.

IT is NOT a legitimate Bank of America number. I just got off the phone with BoA.

It is a FRAUD. And if you are stupid enough to put in your personal information
into a call made from a New York number that is not associated with Bank of
    America, then do so.

What I would do is this...

    1. Ignore that stupid call
    2. Call Bank of America REAL phone number on the back of your card and speak with a REAL person in the fraud department
    3. Tell them you received a call from this number telling you that blah blah blah
    4. Bank of America will tell you that is a farce.

That number is NOT on the back of my Business debit card. There is a toll-free 888 number on the back of my Business card. The dim wits called my Business toll-free number with their shenanigans. They know that out of all the people they dial, a good percentage of them will actually give up their valuable information! LOL!

    DON'T DO IT!

    Sheesh!
    Stupid is as Stupid does.
