- Ronnie| 2 repliesAn officer in my local bank branch insists this number is not for calling customers. It is reserved for customers to collect call the bank in instances where the customer is or is going out of the U.S., and wants to use his ATM card to get cash in other country. I have done this many times. They use an 800 number these days to call a customer where they detect suspicious activity on an account. They are aware that a fraud outfit is robocalling using this number (spoofed), and phishing for personal data such as SSN, date of birth, credit card numbers with pin, etc. I told them they must get law enforcement help immediately, as this issue has been going on for over ten years. Beware, just block it.

- Tygerkat replies to Ronnie| 1 replyWhat can US law enforcement do about foreign scammers?
- Ronnie replies to TygerkatThey will work with their foreign counterparts to track down and arrest the culprits. The cooperation is effective. The Nigerian bank scammers, for example, are the object of continuing efforts. If everyone complains online to their State Attorney General, the FCC and FTC about such calls, they will eventually track down the fraudsters, shut down their operation, impose huge fines and prosecute. But, everyone must complain, as they require a specific number of complaints before they will take action. Presumably, the authorities are all getting the same scam calls we do.
- LBThis cannot be legit. I am NOT a BOA customer for one thing....secondly, they didn't even leave a message...SCAM I believe
- StevieWe don’t have any accounts with Bank of America, but we keep getting calls from this number. We affirm that it is just a fraud outfit calling, hoping you will pickup so they can get your SSN, credit card & ATM card numbers with pins, etc. I did go into a local branch of the Bank and showed the bank officer that there were over ten years worth of complaints, plus we keep getting calls, but I think she was just clueless. I did emphasize to her that they must immediately get law enforcement, the State Attorney General, FCC and FTC on it, to avoid further fraudulent operations against not only their customers, but also non-customers.

- TommyI agree with many of the comments, to wit, (315)724-4022 is for the exclusive use of B of A customers to call in, who are going outside of the U.S., or who are already outside, and want to use foreign ATMs. Otherwise, attempts to use their ATM card may be blocked. And, the operator at that number will accept collect calls, so that the customer’s ATM card can be authorized. I also went to my local branch of B of A, with the call log showing over 24 recent calls from this number, obviously spoofed, and had a long talk with a bank officer about the phishing, etc. Unfortunately, I think B of A is hiding in a cave, until they get sued by someone who has been a victim of identity theft. Ten+ years of inaction is inexcusable. Blocked, for what it’s worth.

- PaulThis is a scam. The number is being spoofed as a real number at Bank of America. Anyone saying it is part of the scam. Bank of America just doesn't send out replacement debit card. They charge you for replacement cards. They asked me to provide them with my information. If this really was Bank of America, they woukd have the information.

- SBSpoofed number. Just for grins I logged into my BOA account and: no messages, no warnings, no "hold" on my account. Scammers are spoofing a legit number to try to trick you into divulging personal info. Don't fall for it. If in doubt, call the 800 on THE BACK OF YOUR CARD, not some number left in a voice mail.

- MichaelMay 15, 2019 - 11:51 AM - NEW female credit card robocall from 315-724-4022, Utica, NY.
I t was a NEW (to me) female robocall message, that sounded the same or very similar to another robocall that have received the last year or so, but was in a different female voice:
"This is an important message regarding your current credit card account. We have made several attempts to reach you. This is your final courtesy call before we are unable to lower your credit card interest rate. Press 1 to speak to the member services department or press 2 and your eligibility to lower your rate will expire."
I pressed 1 and told the unidentified guy with an Indian sounding accent my number and not to call again.- Caller: ?????????

- JC replies to anonperson| 1 replyI don’t care what you believe. If ANY alleged institution asks in a recorded message for ANYONE’s personal info, either account number, SS number etc that caller is NOT legitimate. Wake up
- BigA replies to JCWell I don't know what good your post is going to do, unless you have personal knowledge that person is going to stop back after 11 years to see your reply.
- StarCalled and never left a message, I do not have a card from bank of America, so I do not know why they would be calling someone who is not a customer.

Call type: Scam suspicious - JenIf this is a legit number then someone is using it for fraudulent activity or spoofing the number. I get the call saying my account is lock. I go along with it knowing I don’t have an account with Bank of America and no bank or financial institution has this phone number. They ask questions so I give them a lot of made up names numbers and so forth. They were just trying to steal personal identity information. This is a fraudulent scammer.
