A Bank of America scam evidently.  I suspected, and returned the call to the number shown.  An operator, most likely automated, came on the line to say that this is a foreign number and charges will be assessed.  The caller ID read Bank of America.  I, like others reporting. have never had an account of any sort with Bank of America.  Tried to report the scam to Bank of America at their 800 432 8000 number but had to have account number andor tax number to get any attention.  I now understand why I wouldn't have a Bank of America account.

If it's legit, why are they calling me?  I don't have and never have had a BOA card.

"They" are most likely scammers spoofing  Bank of America's international collect call number.

This is NOT Chase. If you have anything that calls you directly, do NOT call back. Call the 800 number in the back of your card!

That doesn’t mean the call is legit.  Scammers can spoof legit numbers.  Always be careful what you reveal.

Just so you know, the time machine is broken.  This website can no longer send your post 12 years back in time so that person might have a chance of seeing it.

Now a DIFFERENT number is calling with the same recorded message in English then Chinese then English again about Bank of America credit card usage.  The new number on caller ID is: 202-337-1336.  Same message.  Same scam.

SCAM- CHINESE ROBO CALL.  Claims to be calling from Bank of America; I do not and never have had a Bank of America account.   The recording was a robot and a very bad one at that.  The message left said (word for word- no typos): "Dear Client, greetings from Bank of America.  We regret to inform you that we will deactivate your account after two hours.  Should you need any further information or assistance, please to contact us."  The recording then launched into a woman speaking Chinese.  Older comments claim that this number is a legitimate Bank of America contact- and it very well may be- however scammers are perfectly capable of spoofing legit numbers.  In fact, they might be more likely to use them in the hopes of fooling you.  If you do have a BoA account, contact them directly to verify any suspicious calls.

100% scam. First, I can tell the automated message was made with an app or program that converts your voice and/or language. It's too digital sounding. Second, each paragraph being repeated in some oriental language. A legit message from BofA would never do that.

Say they are from Bank of America and my accounts will be disabled in 2 hours unless I call them back, but as I have no accounts with B of A, you know this is a SCAMMER.

Verizon flagged this call as "Potential Spam", therefore, I could not see the # until after the caller disconnected.  No voicemail was left.  I don't know this # so here I am.   Obviously 800notes needs to delete the hundreds of 10 year old comments and set this website up so that we see the most current calls first.   Looks like scammers stole a legit # but I wouldn't know that if I hadn't taken the time to scroll ahead to the most recent reports.   800notes provides a great service - I'll try to let them know about the situation with this #.
