This damn sticker DID peel off the paint of my front doorway.  No way will I return this call.  Unfortunate, too, because I was expecting a very important package.  Something didn't smell right here, though...

I HATE this stuff - makes me wonder if someone is casing our neighborhood.  Glad to know it is happening all over the city - not just our area.  Who should we report to get this to stop.

This is an update - I called Eco Water in Indianapolis and a cheery woman indicated they are the ones doing the stickers on the doors.  I told her they were NOT appreciated!  "OK, Thank You."

They are members of the BBB in Indianapolis.  They might want to rethink their marketing.

Just got the same thing today on the Westside.  Here's what I suggest, if not for the high gas prices, that we should all go stick these on THEIR buildings!!!

I also got a notice on my door today. North-West Indy.

This does not seem like a very ethical way to conduct business.

Complaining to them won't do much - instead, send it to the Attorney General's office. It is mispresentation and deceitful advertising. If they receive enough they will investigate and take action against them if validated. My sticker will be going straight the A.G.

Thank goodness for websites like this one.  I also received the mysterious yellow package delivery notice sticker on my door today.  After checking here, I knew when I called it was a gimmick or possible residential burglary ring operating in Marion County.  A lady answered identifying she was from Eco Package Delivery.  I used #67 before calling and hopefully blocked my number.  She said they were giving away Speedway gas cards and wanted to check the water quality in the neighborhood.  I informed her that I was reporting the incident to the police and that they might want to avoid the area south of Stop 11 and Meridian Streets.  She told me they had done nothing illegal and that Jesus loves me and to have a blessed day, before hanging up!  I do plan to report the incident to law enforcement and I hope all of you receiving this notice will do the same.

I got an orange sticker on my door as well and I called the "package delivery center." They had tried to drop off a case of reverse osmosis drinking water and a nice carring cooler for bottled water, as well as a ten dollar speedway gas card. I set up a time for them to deliver my package and when they delivered they also ran 6 tests on our tap water. The tests only took about 45 minutes and there was no pressure to buy anything. The only obligation to the program was that me and my wife both watched them do the tests, and for watching, we were put in a weekly drawing for a 1000 speedway gas card, the drawing to take place in 3 day.We did buy anything from them however 3 days later, we recieved another call from them and we had won the drawing for the 1000 speedway gas card, no strings attatched. Great!!!!! Our experience with this company was fantastic. They were professional, strait foreward, and true to their word. As for the sticker, of course it was a marketing tool. There is no law against marketing tools. More companies should be this clever and honest. JBD

Hi to all you concerned citizens. I am the owner of Ecowater of Indianapolis. Sorry to all the conspiracy theorist on here, I am not in fact running a burglary ring in Marion County. However I am conducting a city wide marketing campaign that involves various LEGAL(per my overpriced attorneys)marketing strategies. The marketing campaign that you homeowners are refering to involves a package delivery sticker. Basically it lets the homeowner's know that we were in your area and we did in fact want to delivery a free gift to them. The gift that I am trying to get home owners is a free $10 speedway gas gift card, and a $500.00 grocery discount coupon booklet. Along with the gifts, my water tecnichians perform a free water test on the drinking water in their home.($175.00 Value)All the homeowner has to do to get the gifts is watch the water test. Thats it!! Now when you call the number on the package delivery sticker (which by the way has the stickiness of a post it note, I highly doubt that it peeled any paint off a door)a very friendly customer service agent explains the whole process in detail. So in my opinion if you speak and understand the english language it is in no way misleading or false advertisement. Now if you are not interested in what is in the water that you and your families are drinking, then simply throw the sticker away. But I think all of you would benefit from the water test, if nothing more just to become a more informed consumer. Anyone that is interested can reach us at 317 786-8149.Thank you for all of your time, and I do apologize to anyone that I have offended.

This was not a way to case the neighborhood. This was a marketing plan to advertise their products. We did it, there was no obligation, just a very interesting series of water tests. There was no pressure to buy, and we recieved a 10 dollar speedway gas card and a 500 grocery discount booklet. We were also entered into a 1000 speedway gas card weekly drawing but I guess we did not win.

We got a yellow sticker as well and we called the BBB. We found out that the company that was doing this marketing campaign was a reputable company that had never had any unsolved complaints. They were a member of the BBB. As the lady told me when I said I was upset about this, the lady said, it is not against the law to market a product. I talked to my husband and he said that every company markets their products somehow, at least this company was honest and complaint free and a member of the BBB.

my suggestion would be to check things out before you condemn them. I checked this out and it was perfectly legal, strait forward marketing program. The company were members of the BBB, and in fact they did try to drop off a package, it was a case of bottled water and a nice cooler for taking bottled water to work. People say scams, people say they are casing the neighborhood, people call the cops. This is ignorant. all you people should get the facts before you go online and show how ignorant you are. I am not an employee or advocate of this company, I just hate reading this crap when you do not even check things out before you blog. Get a life.
