- lilithThey called all the time - every day for weeks. We don't have credit cards anymore
no bills, owe nothing to the man. Told the dude this like 4 times in different phone conversations & said STOP CALLING US but he tried to get personal information from me anyway. I'm like-really? What a schmuck!! so I said NICE TRY and hung up. They still call so I just mess with them all the time, tell them to hold one minute then set the phone down and make dinner, or give the phone to my 8 month old to slobber on, by the time I get back to them they have hung up. I'd like to think they hold on for at least 3-5 minutes, and that they have to pay for their 30 or so expensive long distance phone calls to me each month. don't waste your time answering their calls. they'll give up after a few months.- Caller: CBE group

- NotJoshua replies to NOTFUNNYIf you send a cease and decist letter, please print it from your word processing program (even print your envelope); and above all, *do NOT sign* the letter, use your computer to write in your name, and leave no blank room for signature.
I just started receiving calls a few years ago but from LOCOB (or Curtis O Barnes), my complaint at rip-off.com is in this URL:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/lawyers/curtis-o-barnes/curtis-o-barnes-curtis-o-barn-6944f.htm
Now, LOCOB is CBE? They have to be same and one, LOCOB even had a somewhat nice (albeit deceptive) website.
It's when there is nothing on the caller-id someone may answer. The various LOCOB and CBE numbers are all posted by the phone with (do not answer).
We owe nothing, are totally debt free and sent similar letter to all credit reporting bureaus.. just in case these calls negatively affect my credit (home number is part of your credit file). And I don't know the person this place (or these places) are calling for, no relation, no friends, no co-workers by name requested.
My cease and decist letters, although sent Certified Mail, Return Receipt (have the receipt, too) are not effective because the company keeps changing names or keeps selling whatever debt is owed by "Josh." - NotJosh replies to Something Must Be DoneThe FCC told me that the "Do Not Call Registry" does not apply to these bottom-feeders, even though I have no debt. So, I took this even futher and went in-person to my state attorney general's office with copies of all three of my credit reports and lots of id... to show 1) I am not the person they are calling for; and 2) I have excellent credit, no debt.
Do send the cease and decist letter... just DO NOT sign your name, this place and others have been known to scan signatures into documents of agreement to pay and then take you to court. Of course, that is unlawful, however, is anything CBE and LOCOB do lawful? I don't believe so.
**Still file a complaint with the FCC, it creates a paper trail and what seems to be the pattern is enough complaints the company name changes along with the website. And most amazing (sic) is the old website also vanishes and the new site touts being in business since 1950, donating to United Way. - NotJosh replies to Interesting reading here:"I wonder how "Bruce" would like HIS phone rang off the wall?"

Maryland father uses robo-call to get revenge on school officials:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ ... 1011306555.html
At 4:30 a.m., this guy gets a robocall letting him know schools were delayed and he could sleep. His thought: "I thought, 'C'mon, people. Really?" He then arranged for an automated message of his own, found a robocall company online, taped a message and listed every phone number he could find for nine school board members:
His message:
"This is a Prince George's County School District parent, calling to thank you for the robocall yesterday at 4:30 in the morning. I decided to return the favor. While I know the school district wanted to ensure I drop my child off two hours late on a snow day, I already knew that before I went to bed. I hope this call demonstrates why a 4:30 a.m. call does more to annoy than to inform. Quit robocalling parents at 4:30 in the morning or at least allow us to opt out of these intrusive calls."
== - NotJosh replies to kellyDo you work for CBE?
Most people here are getting robocalls asking for someone they don't even know. I have answered the phone and the person is so rude, we don't get past hello (if we get that far). The second I say, "I am not Josh, I don't know anyone named Josh, please stop calling..." at some point while I am delivering that message, I am screamed at, shouted over, and switched to automated bs. **And my calls are recorded, and digitally downloaded each time they leave a message on voicemail or someone here answers a call from them, this place is THAT bad when I resort to downloading voicemails and audio-taping**
Many people here are receiving calls are for deceased loved ones, harassing these people is downright deplorable.

"Paragon Solutions, Inc. is a CBE subsidiary that provides insurance follow-up and self-pay collection services for healthcare providers seeking early intervention and first-party recovery efforts. We specialize in helping healthcare facilities reduce accounts receivable and maintain a healthy cash flow."
In other words, they help the rich get richer. They care nothing about anyone they harass, whether or not a debt is owed. I've been getting calls since 2008 from the various .Incs, even brought copies of my credit reports from the main three credit bureaus to my state attorney general's office (who does intervene and the name/.inc calling changes and we repeat the entire complaint cycle). All I can do at this point is file complaints each time they change their name or .inc calling my home changes and I will do so until this place ceases and decists. I have also sent cease and decist letters.
If anyone here does mail or fax the "cease and decist" letter (address and fax numbers on this site), do not sign those letters, rather type your name omit your middle initial or middle name (and do not leave space for a signature.. write something like Signature: Typed as... and insert your name, nothing more (this is if they asked for you by name).
Some people, such as myself only use Signature: (xxx)xxx-xxxx. The phone number because they don't know my name, the call here asking for "Josh" ...so I use type my phone number (giving no further information about me or my household). And if you can fax from Staples or other office supply store, then do that, omitting your name and mailing address. Hey, afterall, if they only have your phone number and nothing more, why provide them with that info? You receive an xmt report when faxing from these public locations and use that as your receipt.
If they don't have your name or mailing address and you want to mail using certified mail/returned receipt, open a box with "MailBoxes, etc" Box because I won't even give up my residence or hometown to these people.
For those who also receive mail, then go ahead and use whatever mailing address and phone number and send those letters - certified mail, return receipt.
Another thing I do is get monthly credit reports and have letters on file stating LOCOB (et al) and now CBE are calling and which number because that could negatively impact my credit. What I have notice is a sharp decline in unusual inquiries into my credit report by those who are presumed to have persmission to do so.. they do not, I have blocks on my credit report, and have long since opted out of credit card notices/offers. My credit file is now frozen to stop all unlawful inquiries such as by CBE and LOCOB. - NotJosh replies to Or...To "or"...
Gee, don't you think this was tried back in 2008, 2009, 2010, and now 2011? They instead keep calling and aksing for "Josh."
I am seriously concerned, and for good reason, about my credit score and one of those people who has bills paid three months in advance and a six-month "bill cushion" in the bank... and realize how quick that would be gone if I lost my job.
Some people here have fallen on bad times... the economy is bad, remember? Some people here are harassed after a loved one dies and seemingly in a hospital out of Iowa.
Most people here are harassed by calls repeatedly asking for someone they don't know. The calls to my house all ask for "Josh" and to tell them otherwise, just makes these people irrate. - Beth BilharzCalls 10+ times a day. Never leaves a message.

If you fill a class action suit please let me know because I am very interested in joining it. These people need to be taught a lesson and bringing a suit against them seems to be the only way they will get the message.

I was walking home from work two years ago where I was mugged and beaten. A person who saw this going on called the police. I woke up in the hospital with some bruises and cuts but nothing serious. They had me hooked up to all kinds of machines and told me I needed a CAT scan because of the lump on my head. I told the doctor no, I don't have insurance and I'll come back if I start experiencing concussion symptoms. Two weeks later I got a bill for a little over $7,000 dollars that I couldn't pay nor I felt I needed to pay. Yes I received medical help but I never asked for an ambulance ride (the hospital was a couple miles down the road yet still cost over $4,000) or their medical services, I felt fine besides being pissed my money on hand was stolen. I refused to pay and shortly after started getting called and harassed by CBE employees treating me as though I'm a degenerate and inferior.
you say grow up and pay the money, well after what I experienced, you are utterly wrong. If you did your research you will find the ugly truths behind CBE and the millions they collect from people that already paid or are tricked much more than they owe. Please loose your positive notions of this evil company. - Chris replies to FDCPApoliceActually it is...calling anyone, whether they owe the debt or not, to the point it is harrassing, that individual is a violation...and I am quite sure these days people can show judges and juries how often a company calls.
