I have no problem with any not-for-profit calling, since as you state, they are not bound by 'DO NOT CALL' lists.

I do have a problem with their modus operandi. If you have a legitimate purpose for calling, then be polite enough to leave a voice mail message with the intent of your call, and information about how to call back if you're interested. A hang-up is, quite frankly, rude - and is likely to get an extremely negative response....

a legitimate company wouldnt have their id as phona thon.
they would speak to you when you pick up the phone.
they wouldnt have a computer calling.

All I know is that if you got a call from a RuffaloCody call center there would be an actual human being on the line and as for leaving messages--callers are not allowed to leave them.  The best thing possible is to try and reach the number shown on your Caller ID or contact the University or organization that you belong to.

Honestly you all need to be sincerely worried.  I worked for this company and what you have to do is get a freedom of information act for their customers list (they are a non-profit and that info is available).  Don't be suckered, start calling their customers and tell them you're calling in regards to their phone-terror tactics and will not be supporting their orginizations anymore.  Then get a 100 sheet ream of paper and start faxing their numbers with blank sheets.  This will run their cost's up the wall.  Next everytime you send a random email (you know the inane jokes we all send one another) to their corporate email site.

You are an idiot.  FOIA will not allow for RuffaloCODY to give out calling records--that violates confidentiality.  Get a life.

Caller ID as posted by others and phone number.  No message.  I did not pickup.

And I think that if you're in the solicitation business, no matter how altruistic the cause, you shouldn't be posting back to any of us who are bothered by these incessant calls.  More secrets, more unhandedness.

I can tell you are upset but all you have to do is politely answer and ask the caller to please take you off their calling list.

Simple as that.

This number appears numerous times on my caller id and remains unanswered.  By chance I decided to google the number and found everyone else who has been inconvenienced by these pests.  8:51 on a Sunday evening is very inapproprate.  To interrupt my evening for your "business"  will never achieve anything.  Business is for business hours, if this was a reputatble firm with reputable clients they would not condone such practices.

You obviously do not have any experience in this field of work.

I get innumerable and persistent calls from Phona Thon and someone called RUFFALO CODY. From this post I understand that they are telemarketers. I have my number on the Government's DO NOT CALL list, and still I get these annoying calls. Is there anything to do?

If it is a up and up company then why do they hang up when they get the answering machine.  You want people to be polite.  Then, how about leaving a message like any other polite human being would do And If they are interested they will call You, otherwise move on!

My daughter just turned 17 and doesn't aspire to go or anyone in our family has went to the college they are soliciting for.

319+730-2688 "Phona Thon"  called,  when I say "helo" ... no response from them ... Can they track home voice's or computer ... Very, Very strange .... there may be more to it ... I worry about security issues ... the Fed's should ... this could be from inmates in prison ...once you answer, they can use your phone number to call all over the world ... Police!!! Help!!! Get them!!!
