When the caller stated he was from the Internal Revenue Services I immediately knew it was a scam.  The proper name is Internal Revenue Service, no s on the end.  The call originated from 213-141-5162.  I received a similar call yesterday from area code 213.  Both have now been blocked.

Received a message saying that this was an Officer of the IRS, and that they had filed a lawsuit against me.  "This is your last warning."  As an attorney, I have to say this is a sham.

Caller left voicemail stating "This is an office from the Internal Revenue Service.  This is an official final notice to inform you that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against you. Please call 347-637-6194".

A voice message was left on my home telephone number informing me that an Officer from the Internal Revenue Services {sic} was contacting me with an official final notice call and that a lawsuit had been filed against me.  I was instructed to call their department at this phone number.  I took no action except to report the incident online to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration and encourage others to do the same.  Their website for complaints is:   https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

Scam about IRS.  Called three times.

I keep receiving these calls saying that the IRS  has filed a lawsuit against me. I know that this not true because the IRS does not make any calls.

I am a caregiver and my poor 89 year old client gets these calls everyday like clockwork and they have money to burn, one time her son happen to be here, and he picked up the phone, and he called them back, and sure enough it was a scam, he told them  " I WORK FOR THE IRS AND I HAVE FOR YEARS " AND THEY HANGED UP ON HIM ! ( LOL ) WE GIGGLED ALL ABOUT IT, AND HE TOLD ME NOT TO FALL FOR THOSE FOOLS  !

I got this call today too...if you watch the news at all you know that these are scam calls.  still, upon hearing those words my stomach dropped...just for a second.

I have now had over 5 calls from this number that I'm being sued by the IRS. Since I am in the finance industry I know it's a scam, I feel so bad for anyone who falls for these types of scams.

I called the number back. When they started asking for my name I asked them to tell me who they were trying to reach. They had my name but I told them I was calling because they had the wrong number and to remove my name from the list. No goodbye or anything just a click.

IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

I got a voice mail that IRS had a law suit against me and left the number for me to call (347) 637-6194 and this was my cell phone that I had it enlisted in the do not call me web site. I also have receive frequently telemarketers phone calls.
