received a phone call from this # called ID said it was a Rhode Island #. left no message& when i called back the operator came on saying they were having difficulties processing this call. I live in NC.

I is so nice to see our do not call list works so well that an off shore telemarkers can go around it and nothing can be done.

I received a call from this number tonight 8/10/10 around 7pm telling me congrats they were from AT&T and that I won a free wireless home security system. I told them I was on the do not call list, then asked for a supervisor, and told him the same thing. He said sorry and hung up. I don't think English was his first language. The number shows up on caller ID as a Rhode Island number, but doesn't show up on whitepages.com reverse search. I also call ATT myself after we hung up b/c our cell phones are with them and the guy said he thinks it's a scam. ATT wouldn't contact us at home or by phone.

I just received a call from this number too. 7.20 pm EST on August 10, 2010.  The person - with a distinct foreign accent - asked me if we had smoke alarms and security alarms installed in the house, and when I said I didn't know because I don't live in the house, he asked me if I was a family member of the owner. When I said, "excuse me? Where did you say you are calling from?" He said, "f--- you". I was so stunned I said, "excuse what did you say?" And he said, "why don't you go f--- yourself?". And then he hung up.  I called back the number and it said it didn't exist. So I called the operator and he said it's a number in Rhode Island but it is not listed.  I can't imagine what the point of the call was.

Got a call from this number ... no message ... hung up. Rhode Island Call was on the display. The number was not in service when I called it back.

Received a call from this number at 8:12 August 10th. He immediately said, in a foreign accent, this is a survey and he is not selling anything. He immediately asked something about smoke and security alarms. I quickly responded that I was not interested and he said he would call me every night and a few other petty threats involving more phone calls. As with others, the only hint was that it originated in Rhode Island. My first thought is that they are using the survey technique to "case" my house for alarm systems and there may be a crew in the Dayton, Ohio area ready to burglarize the houses where they know there are no alarms. It would be helpful to know if there is any geographic pattern to these calls.

Well, looking at the number of pages I could go to (23), I'll stop at page 3--this number is obviously bad news. I too did not pick up and don't plan to, but what I will do is enter the number into my blocked call list. If you're in need of a new phone at some point, check out the ones that let you block whatever numbers you want; that seems to work beautifully. Although I think I will also try reporting it to the www.donotcall.gov site given.

This is an update from my last  post on 8/9/10. Due to the fact that there is so many people being contacted by these "individuals", I went to the FBI  web site and filed a complaint with them. Will see if anything comes of it.

401-401-0125.  Man called about a survey on smoke detectors.  Said his name was Jack.  Had a thick Indian or M. East accent.  When I wouldn't give may name he started yelling and cussing at me.

I've had 2 calls from this same number TODAY...I didn't answer, just used caller I.D.  
...I'm glad some of you mentioned G.E. because I just bought a new G.E. washing machine in May...They're probably trying to sell me an Extended Warranty for the washer....I did a "reverse look-up" on Anywho dot com That took me to Intelus & it said it was from Fishersville, Rhode Island.....IF the guy had an accent, IT'S PROBABLY A FOREIGN
CALL-CENTER THAT USES A TIE-LINE THRU AMERICAN PHONE NUMBER.....I was an AT&T long-distance operator for 24yrs, so I have some back-round & knowledge in these things.  Hope I've helped you-all, cause you have helped Me!  Thanks! Benita

Both our cell phones and home phones have been called by these people daily for the past week or so. They will not leave a message and keep calling. we are on the Do Not Call list and we just got the kids cell phones so I do not know how these people got our numbers. They are even calling the kids phones.
Somebody needs to do something about this because if I had to pay for my minutes instead of an unlimited package I would be one hot momma.

Got a call from this number today.  Caller ID read Rhose Island.  Picked it up and the man started asking me quesitons about my smoke detectors.  I told him I do not like to give information to people I don't know.  He shouted at me that I should answer his questions or he would call me night and day and never stop.  He kept repeating how it was NOT a sales call.  He would not give me his name or the name of his company.

Man with above #  with a very bad "put on " jumbled accent ( not detectable) called and was not understandable on my message machine. have had those calls before even though I am on DO NOT CALL LIST. Seems that something can be done about this INVASION of your privacy!

This is a Rhode Island number.  It showed up on caller as XXXXXXXXX RI.  I answer no calls I don't recognize.

Asked who was calling because have received at least one call per day from this number.
Heard caller say to me "who the ***ck is this" with a Hatian accent and hung up..
Considering reporting this to law enforcement since caller sounds like a criminal.

Man with heavy accent told me this was not a sales call but was doing a check to see if we had smoke detectors. I told him none of your business and hung up.
I also received a call from a women from the same number last night. Again heavy accent. Same question.

They called our house 9:10 pm on 8/09 + 1 time earlier but it's not on our caller ID now.  We let the machine get it.  They left no message and haven't called since.

I would like to know where if you living in canada? coz today i receive a call from this number.

Call from a number coming up on my mobile as +401 today. I said hello and a heavily accented voice said hello, either Indian, Pakistani or maybe Middle Eastern. Could hear someone in background saying wow over and over. The person  saying wow so much had an accent too, but it was a bit American sounding as if they learnt English in the States.
