I just got a call from this number too. I refused to answer it because the last 401 number that called me hung up when I answered. Pretty sketchy if you ask me.

Same here - live in HI, called my 808 cell phone - just let it ring since it was on vibrate, they left no message.  I also got a call from another  401 area code yesterday (401-424-9150), same thing they left no message.  I would like to know, since so many from HI are getting these - who out there also has just registered with Hawaiian Air Miles ?  Me just last week - I always had an account, but didn't know until last week that it needed to be "activated" to be able to use the miles, which included my cell phone number....

I get calls from this number on my cell phone almost every single day. It starts out as a recording, then if I wait for someone to pick up and try to ask them to remove my number from their call list they hang up on me before the sentence is out of my mouth. Today I waited and when the person picked up I said I was interested in what they had to offer. The guy I spoke to started to do his speel, reduced interest rates on credit cards, etc. I asked him for the name of the company saying I didn't want to do business or give info to someone unless I know the business name to check and see if they are a legitimate business. He said the company is called Account Services Inc. Totally bogus. I told him I did not require the service and he started to argue with me and asked why I said I did. I told him that every time I get a call from them and try to tell them I am not interested they hang up. That sentence was not out of my mouth before guess what, he hung up.

A scam call from a falsified telephone number ( 401 757 3220 ) trying to get my credit card number from me so that, I assume, they can run up charges against it and steal from me! Certainly not a legitimate organization. The guy on the line became abusive when I told him I was on the "do not call" list and that what he was doing was illegal... we had quite a shouting match! I have reported this to the Feds, but it'll be difficult to trace the fake number.

Same thing for me. I'm a T-Mobile customer in Hawaii and got called by this number twice. Didn't answer either time thinking they might leave a message. Of course, they didn't. I Google searched the number and found this forum!

Police warn of scam via cellphones
This appeared in today's Honolulu Staradvertiser;

Hawaii County police are warning the public about an apparent financial scam that begins with cellphone messages promising a lower interest rate on credit cards.

The scam appears widespread since numerous people have reported getting such messages, police said.

Police caution the public not to give out credit card number or personal information on the phone or the Internet.

If a phone call sounds legitimate, people should call the financial institution's phone number listed in the phone book, not a number provided in a phone message, email or letter, police advise.


Just sharing after receiving numerous calls from this number myself.  I am also on the DNC list, which they have no regard for at all.

Not sure why I received a call from this number.  Should not have answered but no one spoke when I did answer (I usually don't answer unfamiliar numbers).  I want to make sure nothing happens to my number or phone plan.  Thank you.

I just had he same thing happen so i presses 1 a lady picked up it was about low interest credit cards or something like that when i asked them how they got my cell phone number before i could tell them my number is on th do not call list and to remove my number from their system the lady hung up on me before i could do that when you deal with trash or dishonest companies you should expect thatfrom them.

It was a pre-recorded message about something to do with a low interest rate for a credit card. I pressed 1 for customer service and nicely asked the person to remove this number from their database. She said okay and hung up.

Really glad I googled this number and this list of complaints.  I didn't answer since I don't know anyone in Rhode Island (I don't think :)----guess I dodged a bullet.

Still bothers me that I don't know how they got my number!?!

Got a call - pressed 1 for cardmember services.  Was told I could have my interest rate lowered on all my credit cards.  When asked if they represented all the individual members banks the response was yes.  He then wanted the toll free numbers from the back of my cards and asked which cards I wanted to have reduced.  When I asked if I could call him back b/c my wife would have that information, he went on another schpeil.  When I told him that I wouldn't give him any info right now that I would need to call him back, he hung up.  SUCH A SCAM - AVOID!!!

And of course when I tried to call them back - the phone won't answer.

Just got a call as well, didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. This definitely sounds like a scam. I recently had an ad posted on craigslist. Could this be where they're getting the phone numbers?

Nope, not Boise, Colorado. Sounds like they're calling all over the US really...

I do not know this caller and it appears to be some credit card scheme.

unknown number called my cell & left no message.  i tried calling back from a landline & the connection was disconnected as soon as it rang.
