I just got a call on my AT&T cell phone. Did not answer because I don't know anyone in Rhode Island.

Unless you place the phone call yourself, NEVER and I mean NEVER give any one any of your personal information over the phone.  No matter who they claim they are.  Sometimes it is acceptable not to be polite.  THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES.  If you make the mistake of picking up the phone before checking to see that you don't recognize the number, immediately hang up.  These are professionals and just like debt collectors they know how to get under your skin and keep you talking.  Don't gvie them the opportunity.

I just recieved a call on my cell no message left and I also recieved a recorded message on house phone about an hour earlier but dont have caller id so not sure if from this number but it was a credit card recording.

Same thing happened to me told them this was a business line and click went the phone.

I also got this call on my business cell (verizon) and my personal cell (also verizon but on a different account)

My personal cell is a new number that I do not give out.  So I'm suspecting random dialing.

One thing cool about my Android phones is I can add that number as a contact and send it right to voice mail.

Stop calling my phone

I have been receiving calls from this number repeatedly to lower my interest rate. I have been ignoring them. Tonight I got fed up and answered. When an operator picked up, I told her that I do not have a credit card and I wished to be taken off their list. What did she do? She hung up on me. This number is a scam.

I just got a call from 401-757-3220 Rhode Island. I do not answer calls that are not familiar to me. They are always a scam.

Have been getting "Lower your interest Rate" calls from this number MANY time.  Initially I was pretty straight-forward with them asking them for their company name and asking to be put on their "Do Not Call List".  They always hung up on me.  Today (6/27/11) I pressed "1" and connected to a person (again trying to steal my credit card number and the expiration date.)  It was a lady with a pleasant voice.  I asked her what company she represented and was told "Account Services" in Orlando, FL with phone number 800-847-2911.  I said that I was not comfortable giving my information over the phone (of course I knew that it was a phishing scam).  When I asked for the web site address, she hung up the phone.  I am VERY frustrated and upset that the calls continue....The question remains:

Unknown number to me. Didn't answer.

Received call from 401-757-3220. Didn't pick up. I never pick up any unknown call. If it's legit, they'll leave a message. And I just received two other calls within two hours time period, local calls, but I don't answer and they don't leave a message.

Remember, we're in the wild west when it comes to banking. Everyone I know gets calls like these. In these times, companies set up elaborate ways to entice you to send money. They make  you think you're paying off a debt. Always deal with the original company. YOU call whoever you owe, bank, etc and ask them yourself. I know someone who was told what bank they owed seven years ago. They called the bank first. The bank said they charged it off and nothing is owed. These companies buy their old bank information and try to trick you into paying the suspect company. They could be sending money to a secret account in Nigeria for all we know.

I just filed a fraud report. It took the number 401-757-3220 as a valid number to report. It also took on the do not call registry. I don't belive the registry works but if all of you enter a complaint it may get to someone who cares. Try it. I have been here for about an hour on this page and recived 3 calls.

Don't want the gubbermint investigating.   That would take some fraction of a penny out of everyone's tax bite.  I'd rather let the fools who fall for these scams learn responsible behavior.   Quit funding the do-not-call list, it doesn't seem to be working.  Cut my taxes.   Change the tax rate for the rich to what it was when US was prosperous, stable, and growing -- like in the 50's and 60's -- oh, that was double the top marginal rate we have now?  Hmmm.

I wonder if they are getting inside info from a data base?

This is a scam and done by people who should have been fixed at birth.

I am on the do not call list and intend on sending a complaint, everyone else should, the more the better!!!

So, everyone, file a complaint, they depend on people that don't to allow their scam to continue and reel in those that belive their crap.

They called late at night and didn't leave a message. I don't like phone calls when i'm sleeping.

I would love to send a complaint. Who do i send it to?I am also on the do not call list and don't want calls everyday  from these people. I have a cell phone to avoid these calls. I have no idea how they even got my number.

Received call on 208 cellphone. Appeared unknown. Am on DCL,

I received a call from this # 401-757-3220 and am also in the 208 area code.  they did not leave message and I did not call back.
