- MWI just missed a call from that number as well. There was no voice mail. I use CVS also. Good advice NEVER to give out personal information.
- GJI wanted to report in on this number one more time.....I spoke with CVS headquarters today. This is a scam and their legal department is in the process of tracking down the perpetrators of this crime. They would appreciate a call to report if this is happening to you.
- DICK941-545-3008 This is a legitimate cvs number
- Caller: Pharma services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Andy| 2 repliesThese calls really are CVS. CVS is based in Rhode Island (401 area code), and sometimes the calls from the pharmacist, routes through that phone number.
Just the same, if you are cautious (and you ought to be), hang up and call your CVS back using their local number. It probably means your prescription does need some attention. You may end up speaking to the same guy but at least you'll know who it is instead of taking a chance.- Caller: CVS
- Andy replies to AndyJust to say what I forgot to mention ...
Someone else might be scamming by pretending to be CVS with that number. So better to be safe than sorry ... don't answer or hang up, then call your local CVS back.
(In my case, the pharmacist at my local CVS *IS* trying to reach us.) - CPLThe real CVS does not have a comma after the name. So CVS, is really a phishing call. Let it ring.
- Caller: CVS,
- Call type: Prank
- erkaes raro que me llamara esta persona pues no es la area donde vivo y para mis rifiles tengo que llamar siempre.....

- Susan replies to Carol| 3 repliesI just got the same call -- said a refill was coming up and when I asked what it was, she needed my birthdate; I gave her month and day and when she pushed for year, I said, "I'll just call CVS myself".
She claimed to be from CVS Headquarters helping out the local branches. ?????????
Susan - FloridaGot a call on my cell phone today - Woonsocket RI. Didn't answer it and glad I didn't.
- Easthampton MAJust got a call from this number...I let my answering machine pick it up, and they hung up. If it really was CVS, they would have left a message! The pharmacy would NOT have just hung up without leaving a message!
- Caller: "CVS"
- KimThis is a scam. They called me several times and during the last one I told this woman, a real cool customer, that I had contacted police and CVS, which was true. She then said she was from HQ and that the call was real. Unbelievable. Anyway, what bothers me is that CVS doesn't seem to be taking this seriously. I'm going to move my scripts.
- Caller: CVS,
- PoldaGot a call from this number yesterday around noon. The lady wanted to talk to my husband and didn't want to say what it was in reference of. I told her my husband cannot call her back and he will not be home until 5 pm. We tried several times to call the number back and the same recording goes on stating " if CVS initiated this call you'll get a call back later." My local CVS here in MD has no records of anyone calling us...I'm looking forward to a call back now, so I can tell them to go to hell.
- Caller: CVS
- VSI received a call from the same number with the same story (of claiming I had refills ready and they needed to know my birthdate, etc...); I refused to give out my information and said that I would call my CVS on my own. Better to be safe than sorry. I then googled the number (401) 770-8700 and came upon this thread of postings about this phone # and scenario.
- AKI got 2 calls from this number today and when I pick up there is nothing on the other end. On my cell phone the caller ID just reads the number.
- DaveIt looks like this number might be legit. They not only told my wife what Rx she had coming up, but were also able to tell her how much they would cost. Since I use the local CVS, I know that the costs they told her were correct. I'll check with my local CVS, but actually seems like this one may be on the up and up.
- Caller: CVS
- Dan Sullivan replies to Carol| 1 replyHello,
I checked with my CVS pharmacist and the 401 number is their corporate office... corporate occasionally contacts customers. - Dan SullivanHello,
I checked with my CVS pharmacist and the 401 number is their corporate office... corporate occasionally contacts customers.
They were checking that I wasn't forgetting some prescriptions.- Caller: CVS CORPORATE
- Call type: Event reminder
- Dan Sullivan replies to GJThe 401 is CVS corporate headquarters. Got the info from my local CVS.
My local CVS pharmacist is very good and corporate just wants to check that customers aren't forgetting medications.
Sounds good to me. - claster replies to Dan SullivanFunny as when I called my local CVS they did not say anything about this being their corporate office. Instead said they did not know where the number came from. My spam blocker blocks the call from being completed so I truely believe it is spam.
- GJThe calls from this number are not legitimate!! I have spoken to the corporate office and their legal team is investigating. Please do not give any personal info to this caller!!
