got a call from this number, saying my refills were ready, they just needed my date of birth to confirm everything.

sounded like a scam.  

nowadays, people can fake the caller id name and number, so I would still be suspicious of the call even if caller id said cvs.

Got a call from this number and a lady asked for me and then said she was with CVS Headquarters and she was calling about a script that was going to be ready.  She then said she needed to verify some information.  I told her I would just call the store.  I did ask where she was located which is nowhere near here.  She said she was helping with processing scripts for the local store but couldn't pronounce the town I live in.  When I called my local store they did not know anything about this and the pharmacist said she doesn't make those sort of calls but that I could call the help line and ask.

Had a message from this number after being out of work a couple of days due to bad weather.  My work number is the number CVS has in their records, as I don't like them calling my cell.  The message was from "Jim" at CVS, and the caller ID said "CVS,401-770-8700".  I felt funny about so I'm glad I googled the number and found all these reports.  CVS does call me when I have an RX in need of refill, but I'm constantly asking them NOT to do this.  When they call me, it's a computerized message.  The fact that this was a live person from another area code threw me!

This is a 90-day program to switch prescription from 30 day to 90 day supply. I just verified the number with CVS customer relations. It is a legitimate program that is outbound only. The number does not received incoming Calls

Same. Beware. Scammers spoofing the number and phishing for your personal data. Might be Russian according to something I read. Anyway, hang up or don't answer!

This scam is still alive and well--today Oct 2 I got 2. Didn't answer. 2nd one left message just saying "CVS"--someone may be spoofing their number. Also, CVS no longer requires year of birth, just day and month. I'm a CVS customer so of course my number is in their records

Just received a call from this number. I let it go to voicemail and a message was left. It was CVS, calling to advise that there is a weather emergency in our area for the weekend (we are expecting up to 12 inches of rain) and all the lady said was, "please ensure that you have enough medication. Contact your local CVS if needed."

I believe this is a legitimate phone number, not a scam. Most scammers will not leave a message, particularly one like that.

I just got a call that I didn't answer.  They left a message saying that severe weather is predicted for our area (which is true) and to make sure I had enough of my medications to last through the weather.

This number left a message stating that my area was expecting severe weather (winter storm) and to make sure that I had enough of any medications on hand. I didn't pick up but the message was automated and sounded legit. We ARE expecting a winter storm.

Got a call from this number today but missed it. Upon callback, got the "Perfect Paul" voice saying CVS would call again later and directing me to call 800-SHOP-CVS (their real number) if I needed to get more info or get my number removed from their 'prescription outreach program'. I think this is a legit auto-call reminding CVS customers to have meds on hand when a severe storm is headed to the customer's locale.

I got a phone call from 401-770-8700.  It seems that this is a phone call from CVS  that asks about the remaining amount of medication while expecting inclement weather.  I am guessing this is a service by CVS for people who get prescribed drug from them.

To put all of you at ease..THIS IS A PHISHING CALL! Although I just recently (within the past week) received mess from CVS, none are refillable. Besides, this call came through on my home phone and I've never given the CVS pharmacy this number.  Please DO NOT give any of your personal information!

Just got a call from this number and it sounded like it legitimately was CVS! They left a voicemail reminding me to pick up any meds I might need before the coming snowstorm hits my county. Just a courtesy call to remind me to get my meds-- nothing sketchy or weird at all

You people are idiots. This is a legit CVS number, I just received a recorded message stating that a snowstorm was approaching and to make sure I had enough meds. Why are you people always so quick to jump to conclusions. Morons.

I got a call from them this morning; it was CVS (I didn't answer as I did not recognize the number and I don't know anyone in Rhode Island). They left an automated voice message reminding me to make sure I had any needed medications stocked up, and to contact my local pharmacy with any questions - as the D.C. area where I live is expecting a major blizzard this weekend. So, not a scam.

The number showed the name Paul A Tomar, which is strange, but nevertheless, it is the CVS corporate headquarters. They just left a message warning that a storm was coming and telling me to make sure I had enough medicine on-hand. They always call when a refill is nearing.

THAT "Bob" pretty much says it all. No business is going to call a home phone number to solicit a prescription refill if they were never given the phone number in the first place. Also with numerous other reports on here concerning never having a prescription filled at a CVS and asking for date of birth as well as other information. THAT is phishing.

I received a call this morning and let it go to voicemail. It was an automated message from CVS reminding customers to be sure they had enough medication to last through the blizzard arriving this evening.

Left a voicemail to call my local pharmacy to get any needed medications before a blizzard hit. Appears to be legitimate, but I fear someone has been spoofing their number in the past. When in doubt call the number on your medication bottle.
