My CVS calls me to let me know when it's time to refill.  The number is my local city exchange NOT a 401 number.  I get this too but I don't answer and no message is left. Can you say SCAM?

Yea I get that too and they tell me that I need to give them my social number and stuff to make sure its me. I am sorry but if they had a problem they would call me or meet me in person.. thanks

Got a call last night from "CVS" wanting to renew prescription, but wanted Social Security number before they'd even say which prescription needed to be filled. Told them thank you for calling, and since we were close, we'd run in and take care of it.

We've received calls from our CVS before but they know us and call us by name , etc. I'm sure it is a scam!!

I received a call from 401-770-8700 today stating they were CVS Pharmacy & wanted to speak with my husband.  I told them he was not available and I could assist them.  They said no - they would call back.
I knew this was a telemarketer because we had a similar call couple weeks ago.  At that time, they confirmed my husband had prescriptions ready however, they needed to confirm his birthdate.  He gave it to them. They claimed they were helping out with prescriptions  Afterwards, I thought this was suspicious so when he went to pick up his prescription he mentioned it to the pharmacy.  They did not seem to be too concerned, but I pursued the matter and did a reverse telephone number and found it was a telemarketing company.  At the time I did not report it because the pharmacy did seem too concerned.  However, I made record of the telephone number in case we received another call & as noted above we did today.  What are our options to prevent this? Can someone help?

They called me - left no message - and when I called back it was CVS Corporate office and the voice mail informed me that they would call me back at another time.  Quite infuriating.

this is not a CVS number  corporate or otherwise.   This is not  CVS calling,  Do not give your DOB to this caller

Just tell CVS to take you off their calling list. This number calls me each time to let me know my refills are ready. Its a curtisy call . I get them all th time...

I received a phone to today from a person saying they were from CVS Drugstore.Nov.7 2013....After calling my CVS store in Fl. I found out this was a bogus call..I am stumped and concerned ...Does ayone know what this could of been about?? HELP !

Got a call from this number claiming to be helping with refills just as others have said.  I was in heavy traffic and didn't see the number on my phone because I was using the hands-free (of course) or I would never have given my birth date.  I am registering with the credit bureaus because I believe this is a scammer.
When I called the number back, it claimed to be CVS - "If you are returning a call that CVS initiated to you, we will try our call at a later time."

cvs headquarters is located in barrington, RI not Woonsocket. just an fyi.

FYI...you're wrong.  CVS headquarters is, and always has been, in Woonsocket.

Ya well, I called Cvs using the website and they could not find this number....401-770-8700

I use CVS.  Got a call left no message.

That's called fishing my dear. Scam alert!

i just received a call from this number and i received a couple calls before. one time it showed up as cvs and this time nothing. i never answered and they never leave a message. my local cvs always leaves a message. beware if they are scammers they are good. i dailed the number back and it was a recorded message from cvs saying they would call me back. weird.im just wondering how they are getting everyones info. has anyone reported this to cvs corporate?

I also got this call on 12/10/13 in the evening. My concern is that we all use CVS. I am in Ohio and she knew my name.

I did call my local pharmacy. They had nothing for me, and knew nothing about the call.  I knew I didn't have anything that needed filled.

Just rec'd a call from this number, and the person stated that they were the CVS headquarters helping out the local CVS.  When they asked for my birth date, I told them I was all set.  I called my local CVS, and they did not know anything about this.  

Same number called me but I was on the other line and didn't answer.  No voicemail was left.  I was immediately suspicious as it is not a local number. I called back and got a automated recording that it was CVS calling about prescription refills and and would call me back.  I don't have have any active prescriptions.  After looking up the number here,  I now know it's a scam.  Beware people! Companies that have your personal information will never ask you to verify things like your name and social via telephone.  That's called phishing.

I just the verified the number with my CVS, it is their corporate office.
