I found a. Contact in my mobile who went by the name MY NUGUY.....I use the app called my SMS thats where the contact showed up. Who ever is using this number is on a vpn it first gave location as san Jose CA.  Then it showed up as Nebraska. Looks like fraud to me

With the NSA. Hard at work you would think they would know exactly who is committing all of this fraud. Oh I forgot criminals often work together. This shyte has to be stopped Im glad these muth4 f()c%ers are keeping us all safe. And secure yeah right.

If you have been reviewing your bank records or credit card statement, and have found what you believe to be an unauthorized charge or charges that shows “Paypal” and the phone number 402-935-7733, take a deep breath, and relax. It’s not what you think. Here’s what that transaction really is.

This is how it appears on your bank statement or credit card transactions when you pay for something via Paypal, or something is otherwise charged to your Paypal account (such as through an automatic transaction, or using your Paypal debit card, for example), and you don’t actually have enough in your Paypal account to cover the charge.

Remember way back when, when you signed up for Paypal, and you had to provide a bank account or credit card as a backup billing method? That’s what that charge is. It is Paypal using your backup billing method to cover the shortfall because you dont’ have enough in your Paypal account.

We agree that they do a poor job of making that clear (and to be fair, it may be out of their hands in terms of how it shows up on your statement). But that’s what that charge with the phone number 402-935-7733 is.

I got two calls and was concerned if it was a scam. On the second call I listened to the full message without responding, it left a call back number which was different from the 402-935-7733. The call back number left was 888-221-1161. I googled paypal and it showed 888-221-1161 was consumer service.  I called that number to see if there was anything fraudulent going on with my account. Sure enough a charge for $1194.94 had been charged to my account and since I had no money in paypal it was pulling money out from my bank account. Thank goodness I called them, It is very real and I let them know this was not my transaction. They said they would refund my bank account.

This is a legitimate PayPal phone number.

I changed some details on my PayPal account and sent them some confirmation documentation.

They called form this number and left a message basically saying "We have received your information and the issue is resolved. We will also email you to confirm" and moments later I received an email from PayPal also confirming the updates.

To all the people seeing this number on fraudulent credit card transactions please be clear that it is the SCAMMERS that are using PayPal to perpetrate their scam. This is why the PayPal number shows on the credit card statement.

They just called me 3 times, and left one automated message saying its paypal, using my name, and that I should return their call.  Bullsh*t that someone has my number and decides to call 3 times in 20 minutes, no ones does this but scammers.

used paypal and within 5 minutes I have received 3 calls from this number..  looked it up and it seemed to be a scam number.  I have not answered the phone.   402 935 7733

I got a call from that number just 5 mins ago, they were verifying a payment I paid yesterday, the amount, payee and payment time are all correct. But i still called paypal right away be told that number is def NOT!!!!! paypal's number. So far they haven't charged me anything but be careful, it is def a SCAM number.

This is a complete scam. I got my credit card balance with a charge of $305 dollars..it was a paypal transaction - and the name that took the money was listed simply as: "TUXEDO LLC" on my credit card - with the contact number of 402-935-7733. I googled the number, saw that it is linked to a scam - so I called Paypal - and the man working the case said the number did NOT look legit as it was linked to some shady website that talked about iPhones and Playstation. The number is NOT paypal...it's a scam.
Word of advice - do NOT call the number. They will simply say they are paypal and ask you for all your info. Instead - link to Paypal through their website. They'll give you a passcode and they'll file a case against it and hopefully get you a refund. That's what I'm waiting on. If they cannot give me a refund - I take it to the next step and take the phone number and email adddress and website (and credit card bill) to the police.

Received 402 935 7733 call , didnt answer no message left

I just got a call from this number and called back paypal direct number 18882211161  to confirm if it is an actual paypal authorized number and the representative did confirm that it is in fact their number.  It was about a purchase I made over 500 dollars and they were just confirming that it was an authorized purchase; which it was. So no foul play here. thank goodness :)

I noticed a charged on my bank account statement this morning.  It was for Paypal/Ebay purchased with the 402-935-7733 as a reference number. I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD A PAYPAL OR EBAY ACCOUNT. I called the 402-935-7733 number and no one answered. So, I immediately called my bank and informed them of fraudulent activity on my account. I completed a dispute form and the bank cancelled my debit card. THIS IS FRAUD. CONSUMERS BE AWARE.

Not sure why people get all upset and say that it isn't Paypal, just because someone on the phone didn't recognize the number. It's right on their website for reporting suspicious activity. I received a call from this number today and they didn't leave a message. Whenever I don't recognize the number calling me, I always look it up on the internet and it brought me here. Yesterday I made a purchase on my Pay Pal account for an item that I had bid on and won on Ebay for $16.94. I saw on my bank account that it stated the transaction as Paypal *jenney75 4029357733 Ca 1 for $16.94. So when I looked up this phone number and saw that multiple people were receiving fraudulent charges on their bank account/credit cards that had this same phone number listed with a Paypal name, I was freaking out! So I called the customer service phone number listed on the Paypal website 1-888-221-1161, and they gave me a specific pin on the website that I had to type into my phone, and then I had to tell the automated voice the reason why I was calling, and then it directed me to a gentleman who spoke english. I told him my situation, and that I had received a call from a weird number and that I wanted to make sure that it was a legit number from their company. When I told him the number, he said "That's us!" And so I asked if he could tell me why they called me, because I have made purchases in the past with my Paypal, and they never called me. He said that sometimes they will call to confirm with you the purchase/purchases that you have made, especially if they are larger purchases. I told him that I thought that it was odd because it wasn't a very big purchase, and that I wanted to make sure that my identity was safe with them. He could see all of my Paypal information and confirmed with me the purchase I had made was legit, and reassured me that my information was safe and that if anything fraudulent ever happens, that Paypal will reimburse any charges.

After I spoke to him I felt a little better. But I still feel weird about the whole situation, and don't know if I completely trust Paypal or Ebay with my personal information. I changed all of my personal passwords and am going to keep an eye on my bank account, and i'm considering deleting my Paypal account.

I just noticed an unauthorized charge on my bank account (must be through a debit card) in the amount of $29.90, which has the following transaction information:  PAYPAL *WEBHOST 402-935-7733 CA .  I have never had a Paypal account, so this makes no sense.  I have emailed Paypal and will be calling my bank once it opens to try to have the charge tracked and reversed.

my debit card was charged 6 times for $104.00 by PayPal for *RICHARDRUTH 402-935-7733. I did not order anything.

I received a$19.00 charge on my credit card with the reference  PAYPAL *KIRELENKOAN 402-935-7733 CAUS . It did not show up on my pay pal account. I called and blocked my credit card and contacted pay pal fraud unit. They admitted it was a fraudulent charge from Russia but could not explain how it had been made. The credit card was a pre load that I only use for pay pal purchases so the fraud had to be on their end. They said it would take 15 days for my money to be refunded but it took less than 24 hours.  Watch your funding account statements often when dealing with pay pal. I caught it the day after it happened. It does not help to just check pay pal because it didn't show up there. Because there is no pay pal transaction number you can't do it online you have to call them.

I did some further research. The number  is a pay pal number in Nebraska. I found it by doing a search for it on the pay Pal site. I don't know how it works. I guess when vendors process a credit card through paypal only the paypal number shows up. Pay pal had a record of the transaction as being from Russia for online games but it  did not show up on my transactions. I guess the fraudulent vendors are running credit card charges through pay pal to cover their identity. Pay pal said they had my full credit card number. I don't know how they got it because I only use that card on pay pal.  Pay Pal and my card company (netspend) were very helpful. I got my money back quick. Now I have to wait for a new card to arrive before i can access it.

My Face book, Yahoo.com and Twitter and a few other pages have all been compromised. My Macbook pro has a virus. My cell phone had one through a pic the host reuploaded automatically to the phone. Use protection from now on opening anything from me.  I have left my google account alone.
