I received a call from 4029357733. I called it back and it says "Welcome to Paypal Customer Service". I answered but stayed quiet and no one replied back. I recently did some transactions, so I don't know what the hell it is.

Just did a reverse phone lookup on it.

I guess it's the real Paypal.

Got ripped off by gainzanesville for $85. Was new to ebay. I debated whether or not to bet on this item, and finally did. I lost but later got a second chance to bid. I was in contact with him about how this was possible. His storymade sense so I purchased it. WHAT AN IDIOT I am.  He gave me a positive feedback , LOSER. Now my credit card company won't even let me dispute it until the finance charge goes through. All evidence has been removed from ebay and pay pal. I don't have any info other than my credit card statement. This ruined ebay for me. Their loss.

I got call from this number twice today.Lately i bought some stuff on ebay using pay pal.
Will my payment go through even if i will not respond this call?

No calls from this number, but noticed a $155 charge on my AMEX, which isn't even linked to my paypal credit card or paypal overdraft account.  I had the same run around when I called the number, but was finally able to get an agent.  I was asked to enter the last 4 digits of my SSN, which I didn't do (but had to enter 0000 to get past the menu).

The charge was legit, as it was something I bought through someone that uses paypal to handle transactions, but takes other credit cards.

Guy from this number just called me claiming he's from Paypal, and asked me questions confirming what items I'm selling on eBay and where I'm getting the items from. Why paypal wants to know that info is beyond me. I didn't give him any personal info.

I'm gonna file this under beware because it did sound shady and there was no explanation as to why I was being asked these unnecesarry questions.

Got a call but missed hearing the phone. Looked up the number in google as they did not leave a message. I did purchase thru paypal today. I'm going to check my cc right now

The only problem with caller id is that it is not secure, and can be spoofed!  As a matter of fact, the are online services, that will spoof it for you for a fee!  But then again, Paypal has lost touch with reality, with their new policy of putting a 21+ day hold on funds!

it is paypal, they called to make sure that i made the large purchase and that it was not fraud. They are good guys! If you don't feel comfortable just go online instead of talking to a person:-)

I had my sister in law have a issue with the 14029357733 #. She bought a dvd on ebay and the shipper wouldn't ship. She was talking to who she thought was pay pal and told her to wait to dispute. Now its too late and she got screwed. HERES THE THING. TOO MANY BAD THINGS HAVE HAPPENED FROM THIS # DON'T TRUST IT NO MATTER WHAT EVERYONE ON HERE IS SAYING ABOUT THERE FEELING OF IT BEING REAL. THINK, HOW EASY WAS IT TO POST ON HERE? HMMMM I WOULD BELIEVE THAT THE SCAMMERS WOULD PROBABLY POST POSITIVES ABOUT THAT # HERE TO GET YOU TO DO IT.

I do not have a paypal account. I did not answer the call; I called paypal and asked them to remove my number from their system. They do not know why I received the call.

I got a call from them (some lady) asking for me by my first name, claiming to be from paypal and asking for information about a transaction.
She would only give me her first name and seemed to get nervous, evasive even, when I asked for her last name.  Said "they're not allowed to give it out"  I pressed for an employee number and she gave me one.( I don't know if it really checks out or not.)

The call looks as though it really originated from Paypal though.  The number shows up elsewhere on the net.  They also called only an hour or so after I bought something expensive and out of the ordinary for me.  Sounds plausible that it was Paypal or some other "Agent" in that loop calling to confirm a transaction.

I will say that she didn't conduct herself in a professional manner and sounded fishy.  She didn't identify herself properly, declare what department she was calling from, or even state her business clearly.

In my opinion, it's really Paypal and they must not have good training or something.  Must be a fraud detection department with employees that are used to dealing with, and tracking down scammers.

It's still a little unsettling to get a call from someone, who knows everything about your business through Paypal(Everything you've bought!) asking about your business.

My checking account was overdrawn because of a $195 purchase attributed to this number that I never made. When I called the number, it demanded that I enter my bank account number before proceeding, which I'm obviously not going to do. I canceled my debit card and am contesting the charge, but folks, BEWARE!

I called 402-935-7733 and answering machine said it was paypal and asked for my last 4 of my SSN. I hung up,logged onto paypal and called the customer service number listed there. Paypal person said it was paypal fraud dept trying to verify transactions. I also told them it's not good that caller id says UNKNOWN and they should not ask for my SSN without me knowing if it's legit. Nuber is ok but the way they use it is wrong. I suggest you call paypal from the number they have listed on thier site if you have concerns. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!

Yes--$140.00 today out of my bank acct with the memo "guyjaigh 402-935-7733ca"  When you call this # it rings 1-1/2 times and goes dead.  This is not a valid phone#.....
I believe this is a new tracking virus or worm or something that you get over the internet or email....then it picks up your keystrokes or some other type of info.
I have had my debit card for 10 years and this is the first time this has happened--needless to say it is now cancelled.

i got an unauthorized charge on my credit card with this number listed instead of the city.

i won't give any info out on here, but here's the story...
my future mother in law called the fiance and me while we were about to start studying for the evening. she said there was a $400 (exactly, suspicious??) charge to her credit card. all it said next to it was paypal, and it had the culprit # in question. obviously, she's careful w/ her dough and i'm sure she'll try to get to the bottom of this. she was wondering if it was something we had done, but it's not. this is very suspicious and i'd advise anyone to report this # and their situation to their bank. maybe the banks will create a list of things to watch out for...

I noticed today I have a $1.95 charge on my checking account on October 3rd. This is the journal entry

It has the phone number.   This account is not on my Paypal account nor did my Paypal account charge this for any reason.  I'm suspecting someone is probing my account.  I'm reporting it to my bank today.
