- PegI called the 403 #, they were very nice, said they would refund money, and gave me conformation #. She said they get a lot of these, people are just testing the card. Istock is a download site so its hard to trace who used the card due to nothing gets delivered. My charges were out of Indonesia. They did ask for my card #, but my bank had already cancelled the number so I was safe giving it to them. I now have two cards. one only for internet purchases. Lesson learned.
- AnnieI live in UK and I have just been done twice on same day from istock international. On way to bank to get my money back and these payments reversed. Cheeky so and sos.............................
NO PHONE CALL JUST CHARGED MY BANK ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - MarciaI just looked up this company and found an amazing number of people with fraud charges. I also had fraudulent charges, one for $73.00 and one for $170. The same person or company also purchased something from Beatport. I had never heard of either of these companies. I don't recall getting a phone call from the above phone number.
- chrisgot charge of $175 on amex
- PeterI got hit for only $19 it just randomly showed up. Chase will refund and investigate. good luck! glad i didnt get one of the thousand dollar charges!

- Bob| 1 replyI was also hit for $175 and $75. The story that istock gives that "people test stolen card using us" sounds like B.S. to me. If I were to test a card, I would make a small charge that folks wouldn't really notice - like $12.85 or $14.78, or something like that. Why would someone "test" card buying crap they don't want and running $1,000+ (for some people). That would just tip cadholders off.
My theory - istock just runs a bunch of transactions and hope that some stick. The people that actually read their bill are just the tip of the iceberg.
Canadians need to shut them down! - TessIn spite of all of this- they are still in business. I got a charge for $420 yesterday.
Shut down the account and payment will not be made thanks to quick work on the bank's part.
Why can't they be shut down? - very pissed off!!!| 1 replyi found my debt card has been hacked by this company just this morning. i have never heard of this company nor have i ever bought anything from them! my account was charged $175.00 twice in one day! i have a hard enough time paying my mortgage without some off the wall company hacking in and taking what they want!!!! these people need to be stopped!!!
- SRLI had 2 $780 charges to my debit card. Luckily my debit card security protection caught on and called me right away to get authorization to shut down my card. Still waiting for the charges to be disputed and reimbursed.
- KristiWow!!!! I guess Im not the only 1. Just got hit for $1200 from IStock and 2 other charges from different companies. Im assuming their all related somehow. I never recieved any calls.
- Brandon| 3 repliesCharged $780 today similar to other posts. I never recieved a phone call.
- Brandon replies to BrandonSomewhere a database has been hacked and the hackers are using iStock to cash in. I guess it would be impossible to find what each of us bought in common to find the source of the compromise. I like most of you, have never heard of iStock.
- Brandon replies to Brandon| 1 replyA good tip worth remembering is never purchase online with your debit card. A credit card gives you a much greater flexibility when dealing with fraud.
- kristi replies to BrandonWhen I called IStock, they actually gave me name, address, phone number and e-mail address of who used my card. they said they would credit my account but have not seen it yet.
- jgJust got a charge on my visa for $780 from Istock *international. Called bank, reported as fraudulent. They're refunding the charge, closed the account and are issuing a new card. Seems like Istock (whoever they are) needs to do more to try and stop fraud, since so many people here seem to be reporting the same issues. I'll second what Brandon says a few posts above, ALWAYS use a credit card, not a debit card, for any purchase - especially online.
- Sandi4 charges went through yesterday for $780 each. I-stock is crediting the total amount. Second time in 6 months -- same issue with fraudulent charges through I-stock International. Will have to get new card again. Wish I knew how my card number was being stolen.
- Sandi| 4 repliesSince my CC has been hacked twice in 6 months, I'm wondering which of my regular vendors is not secure. Does anyone else here pay a Kaiser premium with her credit card? Does the Cleaning Authority clean your house? Live in the DC area?
- Japan replies to Sandi| 1 replyWe just got charged $500 to our credit card in Japan - in Japanese yen! This is crazy! We get to deal with a 15 hour time difference and Skype. Aah! Any suggestions? The charge is for IStock International in Illinois.
- Sandi replies to JapanI would try emailing I-stock International. When I called them I left a voicemail, and they called me back within hours and immediately initiated a credit to my account. Apparently they are fully aware of this type of problem. They will ask for your credit card number (but not the expiration and security code) to pull up the charges, but you've probably already canceled the card so it should be safe. They put the credit through while I was on the phone, and I should see it on my card in 2-3 biz days. Good luck to you!
- erbI was scammed by Istock *Internatio 403-265-3062 US for 435.64 euros on a UK Halifax bank account. It should be noted that not only did Halifax accept this transaction, calculated the exchange rate and debited my account but they charged me a service charge for doing so.
As I can see from others, Istock have been scamming for over a year. Why haven't the banks and card companies have them flagged and any unusual transactions queried.
