- TriedtostealfrommeThey just scammed me today for 2 charges $420.00 and 250.00. filed the dispute with the CC company. I'll let them handle it for now. Maybe someone needs to make a personal visit to this company
- inLA| 3 repliesI got hit for $2200. iStock is a legitimate company (see http://investing.businessweek.com/research/st ... vcapId=25912441). Canceled my credit card and getting a refund.
- A NY Collision Shop replies to inLA| 2 replieswe got hit with 5 charges overnight at $1540 each. i have no idea who they are or how they got our info
- Tigger replies to A NY Collision ShopWe just found the same charges this morning to this same company. Are pursuing this with our bank.
- RLiStockphoto (iStock International) is a real company and not some kind of "non-legit enterprise" as some have wondered. It is owned by Getty Images and is the largest seller of stock photos in the world. In fact, there are hundreds of photographers (people such as myself) who make their fulltime living selling images on iStockphoto, not to mention tens of thousands more who make a part-time income there.
The fact that iStock's customers purchase credit packages online to download images and do not receive a "real" product in the mail is probably why they have become a target for credit card fraud. As evident by the recent posts in this thread, it is highly probable that a large database of credit card information has been obtained somehow by the thieves and that they are using iStock to both purchase images (probably to re-sell on CD or such) and verify the stolen CC numbers. Since iStock requires buyers to provide their billing address along with the credit card number, evidently the thieves have also have somehow obtained the credit card owner's personal info. Scary.
This is a sad circumstance for both the credit card owners and the companies that the fraudsters are targeting. Anyone with fraudulent charges on their credit card should immediately call their bank or credit card company and call iStockphoto at (866) 478-6251 or (403) 265-3062.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IStockphoto - Patrick LynchI was charged 1540.00 ten times on my credit card. Never heard of them before the charge showed up on my account. When I called them I was sent to Voice mail which was full and unable to take a message. Tried several days and was never able to get anyone.

- Anonym replies to A NY Collision ShopSame here- Five Charges for $1540. Obviously this must be a theft ring using a computer feeding numbers into the system to see what will take. Bank is refunding and investigating.
- Tassie friendSeems Istock international are truly international. I am in Tasmania and yes, we too have been charged $159 on our credit card for something unknown. Currently disputing this, but they have not yet replied to my email requests for assistance to resolve. Not happy!!
- NellieiStockphoto International is a perfectly reputable company - they are not trying to scam anyone, so please don't blame them for what is being done by criminals in other countries. They really are working hard at getting this stopped. iStockphoto is a microstock photo agency and I'm a contributor who sells my work there, so I know they are NOT fraudsters.
- AnonJust got back from Cancun. On the day there were charges billed on my card for, about $20 & $192. Didnt use my card that day. Not sure what the charge is for.

- Scarlett replies to 403-265-3062My card was hit for close to 100K!!! Resolving it now. Unbelievable.
- NellieAnyone who doubts that this is a legitimate business yshould check out their website at http://www.istockphoto.com - and particularly read this thread: http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=299222&page=1
- NellieBy the way, anyone who couldn't get in touch with them over the Christmas/New Year period should try again - they were closed for the holidays.
- Clémence| 1 replyHi!
I think they should really file a complaint or do something as this as been going on for a very long time it seems.
They just charged $5000 to my credit card. Then the next day $5000 + $6000 but these have been recredited without me doing anything. I am still left with a charge of $5000. This is on a Corporate Amex.
Is there anyway that we could find a complaint somewhere else that just credit card company so they would take action?? - Mike replies to BobYou're and idiot. Where would they get the cards from? Do you know how many chargebacks they would get? They would loose so much money to the banks.
- Barry replies to AnonymAh they don't hack. Someone hacked you and used your card on their site.
- DeeDee| 2 repliesMar 3, 2011: I received a charge of $430 from Istock International. The charge showed a Number of 800-478-6251. That number belongs to some company that manages conferences and provides speakers for them. Needless to say my card has been changed.
- Jane replies to DeeDee$175 charged to my Visa card with a posting date of 03/29/2011. Description on bank statement: ISTOCK *INTERNATIONAL. The Merchant Category for the transaction is "Art Dealers/Gallery." When I called the number on my statement associated with the charge -- "800-478-6251, WA" -- they said it was a "teleconferencing company." My bank is disputing the charge and has cancelled my card.
- bluedot replies to ClémenceYou might try writing to the Better Business Bureau of Canada, where istockphoto international does business.
http://www.bbb.org/canada/ - Christine WeberMy account was charged twice in the amount of $800 each (total - $1600). My debit card was cancelled but I am wondering who is getting all of our card numbers and charging things to this company?
