Thsi number harrasses me at my job. I have asked them repeatedly not to contact me at this number, especially because I have a state job and I cannot discuss this matter at my job, they still call. In fact, they call even more frequently and leave harrassing messages threatening to take legal action against me if I don't contact them within 24 hours.

I recieved a call from an Erica Gilliam with them. THe forst call I got was from a woman talking about a fradulant fire insurance claim. I have never filed a fire insurance claim. Then I got another from a man calling from 2 different counties. One of which he staed was teh county I lived in but the other I had never heard of. When I called back after more threats I talked with an Erica Gilliam and told her I had already paid this that I was not giving here anymore money. She said just send us the money and when you have the proof we will refund it back to you. I told her no I will send her the proof and she can bring me to court with any further actions. She got irate with me.  I then got all the information together sent it to her certified and told her any other communications need to be through the mail and never have heard from them again. I now am getting bugged by a ashner smith # 305-760-7530 which if you research is the same type of scam pleae take caution to these calls.

They keep calling my phone threathing my daughter which is not me i dont live there but i would like, the phone calls to stop my daughters number [removed]

I keep getting a call from Mr. Raven saying that he has a court case against me against check fraud with criminal intent. Not only is he calling me but he is now calling my grandmother about me and this case. I dont have a checking account therefore how can I have a case against me for check fraud. Every message he leaves me he says I have to call back within 24hours. My mom called the number today and they said i had to pay them $500 before 6pm or I was going to have to deal with this in court.

i got calls from them a few months ago saying check fraud but heads up my fellow people they are starting to say tax fraud! i knew right then and there it was a scam. when i called the number back i remember the mans voice that i cussed out before. lol

I got a call saying I was being investegated for check and bank fraud and if me or my lawyers didn't respond in 24 hours I would go to jail.I told them to send me something in writing but got nothing it is a scam so I don't answer their calls

I have had at least 14 calls from these people early in the morning, NOT SO BAD BUT WE HAVE A GRAVEYARD HOUSE!  I stayed on hold for 44 min one day and someone actually answered, they immediately asked for my number, I said your company called my home therefore they should know what number was called, the woman became irrate started screaming at me because I would not devulge any personal information. We also claimed Bankrupcty in 2008. What do they do look for people who claimes it  on a list them hunt them down to get more from them? I have just blocked them lets see how long that lasts! Tired of being woken up by threats from these people go ahead and investigate me

I have been getting calls from this number for about two weeks now. They are looking for someone with the last name Pendergrass. This is not my name and I don't know how they got my phone number. I called them last Wednesday and told the person that she was calling the wrong number. I assumed that the calling would stop, but It did not. My only alternative is to change my number because I am tired of getting someone elses calls.

got a threatening email from DTA Investigations concerning check fraud.  Has a color photo of someone in handcuffs being led away.  Am I supposed to pee my pants or what.  I saved the email to fwd to my bankruptcy lawyer to have these morons prosecuted to the utmost.  Maybe I can get some money from them for being idiots.  No telling how many other people have gotten this email.  What a bunch of crap.

Got a call from this number and said I was being investigaed for tax fraud. I don't make enough to commit tax fraud. Its a scam.

My husband has gotten 3 calls from this number today. He didn't answer and had me Google it. Sure enough every forum I've seen says exactly what everyone here has said. The last call he ignored they left a voice-mail demanding he or an attorney call back within 24 hours because he was being investigated for tax fraud, which is completely ludacris. Besides, if we were being investigated for tax fraud wouldn't it be the IRS contacting us instead of some no name, shady company? How do these people get our phone numbers? And how can they be stopped, this can't be legal.

You can pay what you owe. That will probably get them to stop calling. Everyone on this site knows they took out a loan. EVERYONE. Even if you disagree with the tactics, which I do too for the record, stop saying you don't owe it. Figure out a way to pay it back. Are there anymore morally responsible people out there?

I had them to call my job and leave a message with my supervisor, stating it had to do with a investigation and left her the number of 404-935-9459 and a case number for me to get in touch.  How they got my work number idk.  But I'm tempted to call back just to cuss them out.  Don't be telling my supervisor with no nonsense like that, especially after reading this and it's a scam.

They called me just a few moments ago...things did seem a little fishy to me. how do I get rid of these ppl?

I received a message from these people saying they was DTA investigations and for me to call back with a case # that was left in the message. But the number they called me from was 404 973-2105 so obviously they have multiple numbers.

We just got a call grom Criminal Investigation DTA and they left a msg that they are investigating a check fraud. Their # is 404-935-9490. How can we get our # off their list? They are a fraud co. What will happen if I called them after receiving the msg???

What you said was very rude. Just because someone doesnt pay a bill does not mean they are morally irresponsible. You cant lump everyone together like that, there are too many variables as to why each person didnt pay. With some, it may be that they just dont care. But with others, especially with todays economy and job market, its not that they dont want to pay, but they simply CANT.

And not everyone being called actually owes the debt. There are plenty of scammers out there. Not to mention that the way collection companies work...buying debts for pennies on the dollar, collecting, and then not always reporting to the original creditor that it has been paid, and often times reselling a debt they have already collected on...without validation of debt, ANYONE would be a fool to just pay a bill because you got a phone call. You need to ALWAYS request a physical address for the company, send them a certified letter requesting a V.O.D., and only deal with them if they provide this. If they dont validate, then you do not have to pay them a dime. If they do, well then try to pay them if you are able. But for any company to falsely represent themselves as investigators as a scare tactic, that is wrong, both morally and legally.

And just so you know, I have been getting phone calls from these people. Not for myself, but for my mother, who never owed any payday loans at all. And despite the fact that I have told them this, AND HAVE ALSO TOLD THEM THAT MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO, these bottom feeders keep calling me. I offered to fax them a copy of the death certificate to prove this, but they said they dont need it. So, why keep calling me then?? Not all collection companies are bad or use these methods of harrassment, a lot of them are actually pretty reasonable and polite and will work with you as long as you make some effort to pay what you owe. But this one definitely does and should be shut down. If you want to call someone morally corupt, then maybe you should consider directing it to this company, because from what Ive seen and heard, they are total scum.

Sounds like you're part of the ring of con artists. Get a life before you get caught and prosecuted.

Scammers, Con Artists, Liars, Frauds.... call them what you want, just don't believe them or give them any money. Don't let them scare you with legal threats and do NOT let them allow you to believe that they're trying to help you. READ the facts in front of you. THEY ARE LYING TO YOU! Hang up on them and consider getting your number changed if you need to.
