- KristinHeads up everybody! They Actually called my job and left a message for me! The woman identified herself as Agent Robinson from DTA. She said she was from the check fraud division and that I was being investigated for an unpaid payday loan. Theyre also using another number now. It's (404)973-2101.

- The Exposer replies to FrustratedDear Frustrated, DO NOT give them any information. They can't arrest you. It's all lies. If you give them your card # they'll clean you out. Read all the post. You want them to stop calling? Tell them that the FDCPA requires them to send you proof of every dime they want. (They won't do it) Ask them if they are licensed to collect in your state and to send you proof of that. (They won't because they can't). Give them a hard time and they will stop calling. Time is money to them and they want easy targets, not someone just eating up their time. You can also find other post about them under the number 404-935-9487. They are called Dorsey Thornton and Assoc. They work out of a small house in a residential area. They're BBB rating is F. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU!!!!!!!!

- wontlosesleepanymore replies to BreeI called my state's dept. of Financial Institutions to ask about this company. The rep that answered the phone stated that this is NOT a legit collection company and they have no regard for the law. They are currently being investigated by the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission. I asked how I would get these jerks to stop calling me. He stated that I should not contact them. He also suggested that if they do call, I could answer and tell them I am getting a pen and set the phone down and never come back. I am going to try that. Maybe if we all do, they will get the point.
- Proud Army Wife replies to Concerned CitizenNot everyone they contact is "morally corrupt". We pay our bills and have a credit rating of 767 and 770 each. There is no reason for these people to call us. You are wrong to lump everyone together when even JAG knows these people are scammers. Shame on you!
- tkrecieved a call today with threat of check fraud i will report these people to fbi scammers big time i am sure

- anon replies to Concerned CitizenI got a call from these people and I never had a payday loan! I was used as a reference, that's it!
- Cheryl Frank| 2 repliesI keep getting called day and night from Harris and Assocs. regarding a loan that they say was never paid. they threatened that i would be arrested and would be served papers.
Now today I get a call from DTA saying that I'm being investigated for check fraud. It was a recorded message and they say I have 24 hours to respond. I do not owe any such debt.
I have been getting these calls since I filed bankruptcy years ago.
It is causing problems for me as they keep calling my workplace.- Caller: STA

- SAME HERE replies to Cheryl FrankDid they ever send over these so called warrants?
- I'm an Idiot!!Yes, I put my name as "an idiot," cause I received a call from David Allen as well on Monday, the 12th of July. The bill they presented to me was legit but the difference in the original amt is about $1000 dollar difference due to attorney fees and such. Unfortunately, I set a payment plan and payed the first payment today. I've called the bank where I did have the issue yrs ago and they're looking into it. I'm assuming that passed a collection agency, it's sent to attorneys to handle?? Hopefully this will be settled and my original bank with issue said I could make payments with them. I think I've been scammed. I haven't received the email for payment just yet. I will say that the more I call back to this David Allen, the more nervous he sounds and stutters...Good luck everyone, I know I need it with this one!!

- who ya crappin? replies to Cheryl Franklook up the numerous videos online about these scams. tell them if they keep calling you, YOU will prosecute them.
- PatI keep getting calls for a loan that I paid off in 2009. The payday loan company (CashNet, USA) has sent my account to numerous "collection" agencys. They are all part of this scam and I have reported them to the BBB and the Internet Fraud Bureau.

- TracyHey all, I highly suggest that if you are getting calls from this company or companies that you call the police and file a complaint. I did this just to have a file. I had my check book and cards stolen a couple of years ago and had to close my account. I also did one online payday but paid it off. What these places do is buy your information from another company and try to scam you out of money. I have spoken with two attorneys that specialize is these kind of cases. They both told me the same thing. File a police report and file complaints the the US and State Attorney Generals office, the Federal Trade Commission, the chamber of commerce and the Better Business Bearu. If they want to be relentless, you can we.

- Katiei got a call saying this was a "agent coles" (a woman) and the call was being recorded for court and i left a voice mail saying that if they EVER call me again, I was going to go down and shut them up for good. They asked for a Phillp Low or something like that. I gave them my number and name and if they call again, I'm going to go to the police and make a report. I can't leave state because I'm out on a $10,000 bail bond. But the number is from a Atlanta, Ga. The "agent coles" (a woman) also said she was from the fraud division. I don''t buy it.

- Bobby AshtonI have been receiving calls from a company called DTA from Georgia. I have received several of these calls, saying i was being investigated for Check Fraud. When I return the call to 404-935-9487 or 404-935-9490, someone answers the phone and someone named Mrs cochran comes online to tell you you have 24 hours and contact your attorney if you do not return the call. I have called both numbers, and it is all a recorded messages. I am tired of them calling. Thank you!

Such a laughable excuse for a "business" these people are! I came so close to filing a complaint (there's a section for that on the site!) and using a phony name but then I remembered my IP address would be traceable (not that they have that ability I'm sure!). They actually claim to send a copy of every complaint to the BBB! HA! I do have one question. If they have an address and folks know where they are, WHY ARE THEY STILL NOT IN JAIL? - Melanie replies to denaDena, the reason they are still calling you is because you fell for their scam so they are going to try to get every last penny they can from you. Just be thankful you didn't give them your bank account number(s) because they probably would have emptied your account out. The first thing that should have tipped you off is that you CAN'T BE ARRESTED FOR AN UNPAID DEBT OF ANY KIND!!!!
Geez, I am absolutely floored that these [***] are not in jail yet!!! WTF?!?!?! - Nicole replies to Rocklyn| 1 replyJust because you filed bankruptcy does not mean anything. When we filed bankruptcy we were told by our lawyer that a company can go through a different collection agency and continue trying to collect on a debt. It is just another loophole for companies to get around a bankruptcy. That is why when filing bankruptcy, you have to file every debt collection company under your bankruptcy. This is something most people don't know about when filing for bankruptcy.
