Received the same call as everyone else.  I did call back, told him I have no idea who or what he is talking about.  Asked what number they called.  Provided that information said he had removed it so I would not receive any    additional calls.  BS

Got an unsolicited call from them claiming some injurious legal position. So I called them back and said I was there to represent some random person. There are maybe a half dozen call screeners who want a reference number, then they want you to verify a SSN. Still unsure how they get money. They're out of Gary, IN. If you elevate your request, the screeners (Justin Duvall, Lindsey Carter, some other whiny dude) will forward you to a "Mr. Ward". Hilarious.

I just called them back twice.  Got Stephanie:  I asked the name of the business.  She said Allocation mumble mumble.  I asked her to repeat it and still I didn't quite get it.  She asked for my case numbe and I told her I wasn't the person they were looking for (they were asking for my son but I did not mention that).  They said they would take my number off the list and hung up.
Then I called back and got Amber.  She asked for my case number.  I asked the name of the Company.  She said Allocation Adjustment Service. I said what do you do?  She said we work for our clients.  I said doing what?  She said they did "mediation" for clients.  I said what kind of mediation? She said things like back child support, and things like that.  I said for who?  She said our clients and asked for my case number.  I said I was not the person they were looking for.  She said With all due respect I suggest you contact that person and tell them to call us right away.
My son had already called them and could get NO information about what kind of business they were or why they were calling about.  They asked for his case number and he said I don't have one, you called my Mom.  They asked him for my phone number so they could get HIS case number.  He said I'm calling you because my Mom gave me your phone number because you are looking for me so you should have that information.  They hung up on him.

I received a call yesterday from this number.  It came up as being from Oklahoma.  They left a message for a family member along with a case number and this phone number.  Also threatening law suite and that they will be verifying place of employment and home address.  I tried to call the number back and got a recording stating that it is a non-working number. LOL  Part of me thinks this is a scam yet part thinks it is legit because they had my cell number and the family members name (who could have given it to them for credit verification or whatever) also I see a post on here that is about a payday loan which I know that this person took a few years ago in a different state.  But I am blocking them because it's not me they want and if it is legit this person used their SS# when they got the job so sooner or later they will find them. Best of luck to the family member if it is true.  Hope they garnish their wages.

Yes, they do. Most scammers think people are stupid. If they didn't, they wouldn't try scamming people.

If it were really legit, why would they call from a spoofed (non-working) number?

Extensive history of scamming on 800notes.  Also using the CID of WTJ Capital and Compliant Management Service or Services (CMS).  Simply ignore and block any calls received from Allocation Adjustment Services or the above two CIDs.  The show-caller site shows (267-308-5859) as a call-back for this scam.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Update:  they're calling from a SD # now.  First called me from a VA #.  Funny folks, they are.  Acting all confused because I'm "mad" at them.  ("Why are you so angry, sir?"  asked Amber).  I called them back repeatedly,  doing my best Roy D. Mercer bit ("don't you hang up on me, you little punk..."  etc.).
    I just love scammers...
